Does anyone have a Roomba and a small child? I am not sure how well this will work with a 2 year old in the house. Yes, I know it depends on the child. I assume that the child will not be swallowed by the Roomba, and I also assume that the child will not reprograme the Roomba the turn on Dora or open forbidden drawers. But other than that, anyone care to share their experiances?

Funny, I did go to Amazon.com...

4 stars... Remember, there is a difference between "refurbished" and "remanufactured"

Read some Amazon reviews, apparently these "Remanufactured" Roomba's have a high rate of being lemons. And it's one of those things where it works great... for about 6 months. Then your 90 day warranty is gone and there's nothing you can do. I guess for only $100 it's worth trying though.

I got the SAGE earlier this year and love it!!

A scheduler for $100 is worth it. I'm in for one. If I could, I'd buy these as stocking stuffers!!

I'm in for one. Have an original roomba and its still running strong. They work great on bare floors. I beleive it actually does a better job than my upright vacum which seldom see's use.

If you order one of these, you just might be getting the vacuum that I purchased, used for a month, and returned. Our house must be robot-vacuum-unfriendly, I guess. The Roomba did fine as long as it was just on carpet, or just on hard floors, but it tended to get stuck on the transitions between the two.

The final straw came that one evening when I got home and noticed a huge black mark in the carpet, right in front of our entertainment center. Somehow, the Roomba had gotten stuck there, and rather than trying to move for a short time before shutting down with an 'error,' it spun it's wheels for such a long time that it marked up the carpet with black rubber - and this was a DARK stain.

Took me about twice the amount of time to scrub the stain out as it did for me to box the vacuum up and return it for a refund. I think I'll wait for the 10th generation before trying a robotic vacuum again.

I am so looking forward to this. My puppy (2yo german shep) loves the vacuum. She goes wild. The vacuum probably doesn't feel the same -- it has lost bits and pieces of trim and plastic. The pup does know to leave it alone when commanded.

Between the pup and the two cats it'll be interesting to see how well the roomba fairs... Thanks to the previous posters for links to the spare parts websites!

But this is a great deal!

I had a new Roomba Discovery (it was my first Woot ever) and we loved it - but it died on us after HEAVY use for over a year... Just recently bought the newer model (at Costco) and it puts the original one to shame - it's quieter and faster, the charge lasts longer, and it keeps itself from getting tangled in cords like the older one did - the new one also picks up larger debris and is easier to clean and maintain.

Both models work great with dog hair and bird seed/feathers!

IP address?!? Set up another IP address?!? That's assigned by your ISP or company, unless you have a static address set up ($$$). You can release and renew your assigned address on your computer (if using dial-up or directly connected to your ISP - such as with a fiber-to-the-house connection) or router (if using DSL/cable or otherwise have a home router/firewall), but you'll probably just get the same address back. Besides, according to many on here, that's not how Woot tracks things anyway.

According to someone above, you just need to create a new account and use a different credit card number. You can even use the same email address for it.

(Note to mods: The tags don't work, even when copied straight from the guide.)

Yes. Even the bottom of the line 400 can be scheduled. I know this is true, because I have done it. roombareview.com helped me learn how, but yours should be easy.

As far as I can tell, the answer is yes. The model I got with the last scheduler purchuse I got was a discovery, and it does accept the times and goes around when Im not home.

Yes. The only difference with a Scheduler is that it includes the scheduling remote. (Similarly, if you have a model without the Spot and Max buttons, you can probably get those features with the remote.) All models of the same age have the same firmware, so all semi-recent models can schedule. You have the features; you just can't access them.

Edit: I see someone posted it faster than I did...

When I'm not sure if the order took, I place another one. And if the original took, I get a message that the order I'm placing won't be placed because I've already placed one.

Does that make any sense?

I just checked out their accessories page. I wanted to know what the cost is of maintaining the product. That's where the long term hidden costs always are.

http://store.irobot.com/subcategory/index.jsp?categoryId=2842706

So after looking through, I see that the brushes and filters aren't cheap to replace. I'm not sure how quickly they wear though. I was hoping the filters would be washable. I guess not.

Don't forget. There's more to a cleaning product like a vacuum than the upfront cost. There's always supplies.
