Mine made it a mile away from my house and was "missent" 40 miles away. I thought the last sansa 2 gig I bought took forever to get here... I may never see this one. This smartpost is crap. What's even worse is woot ships our stuff via smartpost and doesn't inform us in the description. I've bought quite a few things from woot but these last couple of purchases have really soured the whole experience for me.

yeah when i plugged this in for some reason the drivers would not install properly for vista. i looked around on the web and they suggested unplugging the device while its powered off, putting it on hold(orange showing), hold in the record button, and then plug it in to the usb connector. It displayed some weird message and then only came up as 16mb on the comp. from that point on when i plugged it in this thing is recognized.

I just got 'em! Hmmm. Woot sent me 2, obviously because I've been a very good boy. I ordered and paid for 1. Now I have to go to GENES 'R' US and grow 2 more ears! Yippeee, I love the 21st century!

p.s. one EZ way to find manuals on discontinued items is GOOGLE IT.

I find it totally amazing that Woot would come up with a winning sales idea (the whole Woot experience), develop a huge, loyal customer base, and then SCREW them over right before Christmas! C'mon here guys...are you TRYING to commit corporate suicide here?!?!

You didn't 1) test this out with a SMALL number of orders first, 2) warn your Guinea pigs before subjecting them to this, and 3) didn't come up with a backup plan for when it all goes to he**. If ANY of the rest of us customers did something like this, we would all be fired!

Woot's complete lack of attention to this and the conspicuous lack of communication with affected customers truly illuminates just how seriously Woot takes this, and how much they appreciate us.

Perhaps the words "Class Action Lawsuit" are appropriate here... I know the newspaper and TV stations in Toledo, OH are going to hear about this.

Just received mine. 2-1gb versions. oh well. it would've been nice to have a 2gb version.

Rockbox'd, it's a nice little player. Turns out MicroSDHC support isn't broken in the latest builds. I now have a 5gb player. Can't argue with that, for a total cost of $50.

I wouldn't go as far as that but this is my 1st and last woot experience, thats for sure. Its not worth the 10 bucks I saved

I just received a second 1 gig mp3 player today, after receiving my first a week ago. I ordered and was charged for only one, yet they sent me a second one in its own box (and with my name on both). Go figure...

The first one works fine, although the battery life seems a little whack (or is this the norm?). I was pleasantly surprised to find out that you can record up to 2 hours of radio. I haven't tried the second player yet.

Though I've been lucky overall, all the problems other people are having are pretty ridiculous. This was my first woot, and I think I'll be more hesitant to buy from woot in the future, especially for pricier items. Clean up your act, woot. I'll be watching this forum closely, to find out how people are compensated. Good luck to you all.

I plugged it in to my computer to charge it. Turned the computer off, but the device seems to be stuck in the "Connesso" state. (I think that's French for Connecting or something like that.) I can't even turn the device off now. I tried plugging it into another machine, but it doesn't even detect it.

Any advice on getting this to work?

Connesso is the Italian word for connected.

Not sure about this model because I'm still waiting on mine...(sigh)
I do know that on my 2 gig sansa that when it freezes up if you hold the power button and left button at the same time for like 20 seconds or so it will shut down. Try that when it freezes. I'm sure that's the same for the 1 gig version too.

Well... Received my package today - 1 day earlier than the SmartPost tracking had indicated, but instead of the 3 units I ordered I only received 1.

Now, it does appear that the single unit I received is working just fine, although it is just a 1GB unit.

I emailed service and I guess I will see what they say. I was originally thinking there might be more than on package coming, but from checking the tracking info it doesn't look like it.

All things being equal, this is the first time I have had a problem with an order from Woot, so I am counting my blessings. That of course assumes that this gets resolved quickly.

If holding the power and left button to reset dosen't work, try taking the battery out. (Battery is replaceable, so no worries about this being difficult to do).

To change language settings, turn on the Sandisk,push the down button until you get what looks like the equalizer settings. Select that, then key down to the 4th selection--this is the language selection. Select that, then key UP to the 1st selection for english and select that.

i still havent recieved mine, they have been sitting in brooklyn park minnesota for 6 days. but when and if they finally get here and i'm not satisfied because of broken or missing players, they wont be able to refund my money to my card. i use a card from the place i donate plasma at. the only people that can place money on in is the plamsa buying company, it says that refunds cannot go on there. looks like i'm going to have to get one of the sansa's they missed selling out of the other day.
i must say this is the worst i've been treated while buying anything on the net. for them to say it would be shipped normally, then later ship it smart post is really messed up. and if i end up as unlucky as some of you guys in here i'm going to blow a gasket.

well they need to get to refunding! I emailed them almost a week ago about my "box of air".

I like woot and all... but this is kinda getting ridiculous If you have that many orders that you make this many mistakes, then you need to hire more people or make some changes..

I couldn't agree more. I don't want a refund. Send me one of those form the other day, the 4 gb ones, they had no problems sending MINE to someone else, upgrading others at random, etc.. Why do I get my $20 back and others get $20-40-100? worth of merchandise?? NOT FAIR. Might just be my families last woot..

I'm with you. Assuming mine ever show up (they were "mis-sent" on Monday w/ no further tracking info) - I'm praying they're all in one piece with all appropriate parts. They're Christmas presents for my 2 oldest kids (11 and 8) and a refund simply won't do.

Today makes 13 days for the advertized "2 to 7 day delivery" and still no Sansa!

There was a discussion starting back in July about how totally fubar and unreliable SmartPost is and yet they are still using the service?....something's fishy! They sure don't waste any time in charging my Amex card (5 days before the item was even shipped) and then use the slowest and most unreliable shipper so someone can put a few extra $$ in their pocket????? SUX

I'm not sure what is going on, but this really seems like crap. I've bought over 20 items on Woot, and this is the first time I've seen this kind of screwup. Not only very slow delivery, due to SmartPost's being a total waste of money and time, but Woot's lack of official response to this huge FUBAR. People (like me) who got an empty box, others with upgraded units, and others with two or more units...Makes me wonder whether Woot told their employees "No Christmas Bonus this year, folks!" and this is their retribution.
At least this Woot moderator should post something to soothe us, but all we get is silence, and a few are getting refunds after shouting that they will dispute their credit card charges. This does not bode well, as holiday sales are the most important buys most of us do, and to be screwed over at this time is a double whammy. I need a product, not a refund! (As of right now, not even offered that, just silence.) Anyone got some phone numbers we can slam?

Got my 3 today ( all 1 GB) one is getting rockbox loaded now after 1 min refurb (rox0rz!) removal (tissue blade works great) no problems so far everything seems as it should be. Maybe I've been lucky lately and it's just a matter of time before the other woot drops.

I just can't figure out how this FUBAR service "dumbpost" is supposed to work. On the 27th of Nov, my package was 5 miles from my house at the local post office(Oklahoma City). Since then, it has gone to Wisconsin and back to Dallas, where it now sits in another sortation center. Woot, give it up. This shipping method HAS to be replaced. Hell, tie my package to a monkey and give him my address.

The way to switch modes in the new firmware is

u can still do MSC in 1.01.05...

here are the steps:

1) Make sure your c200 is ON
2) Slide the HOLD button to the right (towards the "rec" button, you'll see an orange color)
3) While pressing the "rewind" button "|<<" plug the device to your PC, wait until you get confirmation that your device is recognized.

hope this helps.


btw, this also works on c200 v2 version.

You should get 2 drive letters one for the c200 and one for the miniSD

I've already received my MP3 player (1GB version, listening to it now) but have had a 2nd tracking number showing a mysterious 2nd item inching ever slowly toward my residence since I placed my order. Since this is my first smartpost shipment, I just assumed it was something screwey with the way they hand-off to USPS, that is, until I got this email from w00t!

I was sure when I read the first line that they were going to request that I send the second unit back. Pretty cool of them to acknowledge their mistake and then bother to send me a message saying, "hey, we noticed we screwed up in your favor. Merry Christmas!"

Now knowing my luck, I'll get all excited about finally coming out on the positive side of someone else's mistake and, when it gets here, it'll be an empty box.
