How about Sean? As in crust-a-sean?
Woot has suckered me for 47 bottles of wine, nine various bits of junk, and eight shirts so far. Wonder how far I'll go before I kick the habit?

Vista, with eight years of development, is much more capable and secure. The newer software like Office and IE7 is fast and stable.
Refine your setup.
Man, you defend vista like your Bill himself. I do like vista, I sure won't mind getting service pack one, but I do like it. I am in the process of building a gaming pc (go ahead and gasp at my foolishness.. I don't mind) and I'm putting vista on it, in fact for the dx10. It's gonna have a 8800gtx, two gigs 1600 mghz dominator ram, two 150 gig 10000 rpm raptors in raid 0 config, all on the new 780 i evga mobo with 850 watts of power so I can sli easily in the future. This is my first build, so I'm sure I will make some mistakes, but I don't care. Gotta learn somehow, right?

Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then flingest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

cshupe wrote:No, that would be an updated program. Had it been installed originally under Vista, it wouldn't have been an issue. You just need to unlock the drive on an XP computer.
U3 LaunchPad Installer
Download Instructions:
NOTE:
1. Create a folder on the desktop called U3.
2. Click on the driver link here (.exe file).
3. Double click on Setup.exe.
4. The install will pop up almost immediately and tell you it is done installing.
5. Click OK.
You will see some windows about it installing new hardware. Once these have finished your device is ready to use.
why does it say driver there then? this was taken right off the sandisk site... exactly what I had to install. I mean I realize that this is only for u3, but it's still a driver. When I posted about a driver for the flash drive, I just didn't take the time to fully explain myself to say that a driver was necessary for a program that was installed on the flash drive, and not specifically for the flash drive itself. Sorry.

cshupe wrote:Hard to believe, but Sandisk isn't supporting u3 in Vista yet. The removal tool is available for download on their site; u3 needs to be running to use it.
it's actually wrong, they need to update that part of it. Vista DOES support u3; I use it on my flash drive on my vista pc regularly.

What Microsoft has been able to do with Windows is pretty phenomenal, given the range of hardware available for pc's. Your build should fly.
Vista is more hardware-intensive, but this HP is built for it.
By the way, the 15k u320 sca drives we use in the 2000 machines are faster than those Raptors.
... I don't know what brand your using, but they probably cost a ton more and aren't quite as stable. But that's just my speculation though...

I don;t want a Jabra BT135 Bluetooth Headset refurbished. Nope - I dont want some other guys earwax in my ear, no matter how well you say you cleaned it!
I don;t want a Maximo iM-490S iMetal Stereo Earphones refurbished. Nope - same reasons as above.
I don;t want a Dyson DC14 Full Kit Upright Vacuum refurbished. Nope - I have no idea how much catfur someone else tried to vacuum up to see when the system would get clogged. I have enough catfur in my house as it is thank you very much.
I don;t want a Logitech Quickcam Chat Webcam refurbished. Lord knows who was naked in front of it doing whatever!
Idon;t want a Razer Pro|Type Multimedia Keyboard with iPod Doc refurbished. I get enough crumbs in my own keyboard to know I don;t want anyone elses.
and I don;t want a HP Pavilion Elite m9040n Desktop Computer refurbished. I don;t want to find out what kind of p o r n someone else is interesred in and loaded onto their computer that I now own.
Anything you all wouldn;t want refurbished on this site?
Shouldn't have bought the Samsung Q1 Micro PC, took all of two months for it to crash, shouldn't have purchased the Treo, the touch screen doesn't respond to touches after one month, about the only thing that hasn't crapped out on me is the Kodak camera, I am just waiting though......
