Maybe it's better you didn't get it. One of mine doesn't work and I'm afraid to try the second one. I can put music on it, but I can't turn it on once it's disconnected from the PC. This is my first and last woot.

I'm in the same boat, except I only ordered one set. It doesn't work, whether I press the menu button for a fraction of a second or many seconds. Either straight on or at an angle. Either with the hold button in one setting, or with the hold button in another setting. This is my first & last woot. I'm afraid to waste any more time on the second unit.

Help!! I'm having problems figuring out how to delete songs on the player. For some reason, I was able to do this on Sunday, because I had a few duplicates that Windows Media Player or Jukebox (I forget which) put on. Here's what I'm doing:

I have the device off, and plug it into the USB port. The screen comes up on the computer about what type of device I want to use to play files (Jukebox, Windows Media, etc.) Whenever I click on either Jukebox or WM, it lists about 6 songs whereas there's about 64 songs on the player. Am I doing something wrong? The songs I've downloaded come up in My Music folder on my computer, and they're listed in the library, but if I delete from the library of WM or Jukebox, it just takes it off the computer and not the device. It's not showing all the songs on the device.

Thanks for your help! The player plays really well and I can add songs, but someday I'll need to take some off and can't figure out how.

I think I figured it out. I went into settings and changed the USB from MS? to auto-detect and now the files are listed.

I bought three, and the one I've tested so far does the same thing. Not sure about the exact figure, but it's in that range. Further, I bought a Toshiba SD card last year that did exactly the same thing, even after fornatting, so I don't think it's tons of extra files. My other SD cards load fine. Any other ideas, folks?

they asked me if i wanted a refund or shipped again. i said to ship them again and to gice them a few days to process/ship. i hope that if/when they ever arrive that they work! i told my dad that he may be getting one for his birthday... AND it could be broken!

Both players (pink for me and silver for my son) arrived today and both work perfectly!!! After reading in the forums the numerous issues people have had with these players, I was prepared for the worst but so far no issues at all and......I LOVE the shade of pink!!! I use Winamp as my music manager/media player/burner/ripper etc. and the files load and unload to the player with no problems at all. Thanks so much to all the Wooters who posted tips on updating the firmware and where to find the manual online!

I live in St Paul. Hopefully the fact that it is so well traveled will add to it's character.

I can't believe I STILL haven't gotten a reply from Woot's member services, nor has any of my shipping information updated.

I gave mine as a gift and we just opened it and can't get it to turn on. Put in one AAA battery. Have two of them, neither works. What am I missing??? So sorry, feel like una idiota.

Did you check to see if the hold button is on locked? I read that was a thing that has been a problem for others. Also here is the link for the Users Manual which may be of some help.

Ahhh, such relief... finally.

I received an email back from member services explaining that after they had to resubmit my order it was under a new tracking number that he forgot to give me. So I got the new tracking number and it's supposed to be here on Monday. *crosses fingers*

Hold the power button in for several seconds, after first making sure that the "hold" switch is in the off position.

Well finially got a box from woot but guess what nothing in the box now i'm really mad. This is complete bs. I paied for 2 mp3 player only to recieve an empty box that is not right

I'm really surprised to read how many people haven't gotten these yet. I received mine over 2 weeks ago.

I only ordered one but it works great and I have the full gig (minus a few bytes, as usual). This will be great as a back-up player for my other mp3.

mine don't work with duracell rechargeables, weird. they work with alkaline batteries tho

i never received mine..finally gave up on waiting and sent woot an email, they responded really quickly and asked if i'd like a refund or to resend a new package.

i was impressed with how quickly they responded to my email. so, i should hopefully have mine this week sometime!

I finally got mine today! It works just fine. I'd rather have an iPod but this is great for 15 bucks!

I scoured the internetz to find a way to get a fa-reaking playlist on here. It ends up being a pain but not too hard. The version makes a difference(you can find it in "Information" in the players menu)
First you need to make and save the playlists (I used WMP10) in m3u format. You then need to open them with notepad and edit the file itself. There's two lines for each track, you only need to edit the second line by removing the file path info.

For the 3.2.8A you then have to create a folder called "Music" on the drive and paste all the MP3 files associated with the playlists in it. Then you paste all the playlist files in the main folder of the drive.
For 4.1.08A its mostly the same thing, BUT both the MP3s and the playlist go into a folder called MUSIC.
This was what worked for me. It was a pain to figure out. I hope it helps!

I too ordered one in pink and one in silver - each had the different versions you referenced above. I only use Winamp and it's Media Library was able to transfer/add and delete files to both players and with no problems at all playing them. The only issue I (along with many others) have had is breaking files into individual playlists. The players display the playlist name but say there are no files associated. Is your method described above a solution to the playlist issue itself or just getting music onto the player?

The playlist issue. That was the same problem I was having. Adding the files is fine though winamp or wmp or just by dragging them in to the folder through My Computer, but to get the playlists to actually link to your songs, this works. One drawback though - if the playlist includes songs that are already on the player, you will have to add them in them again in the MSC mode and you'll then have two copies. I guess you could remove those files in the MTP mode and they still should show up on the player....but I havn't tried. Either way if you want them to be in the playlist they have to be in that folder you created in MSC mode.

mine are coming tomorrow hopefully! almost one month after purchasing! woot still makes me happy!!!

I like the fact that you can set the Power to 'auto power off'. I was afraid after using my 2g C250 (which automatically powers off) that I might forget and leave it turned on. Good that this feature is included.

I bought two of these. One broke within a day.

I emailed woot and they said they'd send a replacement. That was two weeks ago and I still ahve not received shipping information. They've since stopped responding to my correspondence, even though i've tried via email and web forms.

I am not pleased with Woot Support and would not recommend this Item.

Never even received mine.

Purchased it here on Feb 11th, tracking shows it was picked up on Feb. 13th, and shows it was in my state on Feb. 20th.

It is now March 19th, and still no product.

This is my second purchased on Woot ever, both of which have failed to arrive. (First was several months ago and still not here).

Funny, all my Amazon and Ebay and NewEgg purchases arrive on-time with no problems.

I just want to apologize for my comment in the previous post. Woot doesn't suck, I've simply had a run of bad luck with web orders not getting shipped properly a lot lately, and I was angry / frustrated when I made the post.

Woot service took care of me and hit me with a refund at my request, since it appears that the USPS lost the package somehow.

i had this problem too. i looked up the manual online and what i had to do was hold the power button down and move the hold switch back and forth then it would stay on
