Mine shows the 16th for delivery. Course I'm breathing the same air they put in the packing bags. If they can ship on the 15th and get to OK on the 16th seems it should get to the same town on the 15th or even the 14th........

bfalley wrote:I think dyson vacumes only sell for so much because they ask so much. Americans are not very smart sometimes. If they walk into a store needing a vacuum and the sales person says hey, you need this vacuum here it is amazing it only cost $500 it is the greatest thing since sliced bread, they say "Wow I have to have that" then they go home and their neighbor who bought one says wow this thing is awsome because they are embarrised that they paied so much for it that they don't want to be the only ones, they talk you into it. The only vacuum i think is worth the money is the roomba because, while you are vacuuming, I can fire up the roomba and go do something else like have sex or something. Anyways just my thoughts, but, on the other hand every one I know tells me that this thing is the best thing since sliced bread.

It's a simple economic principle. They are charging what the market will bear. I personally would never buy one for for $500, but for $250 you can definitely count me in.

On a side note, mine was shipped yesterday (15th) and will be here on the 18th.

My first w00t! Hooray!
Fedex says I'll get it on Friday......
I've seen the Dysons come and go, and this one just caught me on the day when I had a deuce and a half to spare.
Right now I'm entertaining fantasies of super clean carpets.....

mine got pushed back a day! Now I'm supposed to get it on Saturday. Good thing about Saturday FedEx deliveries here is that they come around 8:30am.

I got mine yesturday and it works like a charm. One of the attachments shows a bit of previous use, but oh well, it works great. No other vacuum will pick up the dirt in my carpet, but this one did great! Great woot!

Got our DC14 yesterday, put it together and man it really s-u-c-k-s. What we like too is that the turbine head and all of the other attachments also fit the DC07 we got last month.

Now we have a Dyson on two out of the three floors in the house. Best Woots ever!

Our came today, right on time! Stupid work from which I can't leave and go check out the cyber-vacuum from space. Now my Banjo of Consternation is supposed to come on Monday - Maybe I'll get a second one? yeah right... I'll probably get a box full of calendars or lead covered incredibles dolls.

Mine showed up and wow...what a disgusting amount of hair and dust it's already sucked up. And surprisingly quiet too...I didn't think it was working right at first until I saw just how much gunk it picked up.

The host connection had a few marks, but otherwise everything looked brand new (even some molding flash still hanging on to some of the moving parts, so they'd never been moved under power).

The cats love all the bristles...as long as it's turned off.

Got mine today, this thing is amazing! I thought the machine was a bit over-hyped, but no way, I love it! I still can't believe how well this works and how much stuff it pulled up from my floor! Seriously in love with this machine, I love it! And I have no signs of respiffied, no wear on anything, looks like a brand-new unit.. Woot!

Mine came today.
My wife was not too wild about it until we vacuumed the rugs that were just vacuumed a couple of days ago.
The Dyson pulled up pet hair and very fine dirt, lots of it. She is sold on it now.
I can not believe how well it works.
I vacuumed an upholstered chair and was amazed/ashamed at how much dust came out of it.

Mine looks to be brand new and unused. I cant find any evidence of use on any part of it. This thing is really designed well. Very easy to take apart if needed.

Another happy woot purchase. Shipping time was awesome also.

I have one question.
Someone tell me if there is a constant vacuum at the end of the extension wand while in the storage position and while running. The flip down cover has holes in it so I assume this is normal. Will someone check and confirm this for me?

I am going to go vacuum some more stuff.

You're correct, this is normal. The machine seems to switch off the beater bar and go into wand use mode when parked, but if the wand isn't pulled out it just vacuums air through the top of the wand.

I have a question though - What are the tool attachments supposed to be like on the vacuum body? Mine came with all of the tools, and all of the tools have the spot they are supposed to sit in. BUT they do not click into position in any way. I can get them to sit in position correctly, but if I so much as bump the machine they all fall off. There seem to be very tiny plastic nubs in these areas, but they kinda look like some clips or something are missing.

In Regards To MightyBobs comment about the tools:

Mine 'clip' into place. One of them didn't seem to do that when I first set it up, but since the others did, I knew it must do that also and when I moved it around a bit and pushed on it, it did.

I am loving mine. I had vacuumed very well a couple of days ago in anticipation of getting this and was very pleasantly surprised to see how well it did. The carpets LOOK cleaner than they have ever looked, not to mention the dust and sand that came up.

Mine looks brand spanking new as well. No signs of any use at all. Everything was pristine and sparkling looking. I am very happy with this purchase and will recommend it to everyone next time they are offered!

Here's a first time woot question.

Everything went fine but when I check the fedex tracking it has been saying "Package data transmitted to FedEx." It was scheduled for estimated delivery yesterday and no show. When I track the package now it has no date in the estimated delivery date. Any help out there?

Thanks

I currently own an ORECK XL (admittedly it's about 4 or 5 years old) and vacuumed an area about 3'x3'. I did it several times over to get a good result. I then did the inner 2'x2' area of the "cleaned" area with the DYSON.... I Can't tell you how much dirt I collected in the DYSON! (you wouldn't believe me anyways!) I can't believe how much better this vac is! I sound like an infomercial!
Anybody looking for a used ORECK?

Same thing happened to me...just push harer and it snaps into place perfectly. I was afraid I would break it but you won't. It's design so well.

Good delivery time. Easy to assemble (it was harder getting it out of the box then putting it together). Tried it first on a carpet I had vacuumed yesterday and all I can say is "WOW"!

As long as no mechanical problems arise ... it's a great vacuum and price.

Got mine yesterday. Looks brand new and works like a charm. The upholstery attachment cleaned up our cat's favorite chair very nicely! It's actually quieter and lighter than our old Dirt Devil.

I received only 3 attachments, though: the upholstery beater thing, a mattress or bare floor tool (don't know the difference), and a hard bristle brush. I seem to be missing the crevice tool, round brush and the mattress or bare floor tool (the other wider tool). It also came without a manual, which is why I don't know my bare floor tool from my mattress tool.

Did everyone else receive everything pictured?

Received mine on 4/18. Works great and more quiet than I expected. All attachments were present. There's the round brush, stair tool, and crevice tool that snap into retaining tabs on the vacuum. A mini turbine head, a stiff scrubber brush tool, and a mattress tool were also present. The mattress tool looks like a wider version of the stair tool.

The only issue was a gasket on the suction tube that was not seated properly. Re-seated it and all was fine.

So, that also explains why the storage shapes seemed incongruous and held none of my attachments. Thanks for the post. Well, I'm off to customer service!

Got mine on Saturday.. love it so far. All the attachments were there.. I could not believe how much carp was in the carpet on my stairs... that turbine attachment is the best. I vacuumed with our old eureka and my wife followed right behind me room to room with the dyson and it did get quite a bit of cat/dog hair & fine dust that the old vac missed.

Overall very happy

Well, Contacted Woot service and I have to contact FedEx to get a return put in process in place and then send them a tracking number. Other companies would just send you what you need to do the return. Woots process is not the most customer friendly process around. Add to that that they say they don't have any more so, I just get a refund - No replacement. Very disappointing....

Last update on mine is that on 04/19/08 it was in a city 240 miles away. It shows expected delivery is 04/22. Appears it takes a while to get a Woot to the Pacific Northwest. I am so ready to get it!

Well after getting the runaround as to the whereabouts of my MIA vacuum. Woot just gave me a refund. I'm very disappointed as I bought mine several hours before they sold out and I somehow just never got a vacuum set aside for me (fedex said they never picked one up). It's a bummer because I was really looking forward to suprising my fiance with this. This experience has put a bad taste in my mouth. I think I'm through with Woot.com

I concur. At first I thought it was great and looked forward to getting the dyson on Friday and now I get a refund because fedex didn't have anything to pick up. I guess the dog hair will have to stay hidden in the carpet for a while!

We received our DC14 and it vacuums fine. The vacuum itself looked brand new. We did have one attachment that had a few pieces of hair in it which I thought was a little gross.

I do have one issue with the vacuum though. If you get close to the edge of something like when you vacuum against the bottom of the couch (and I don't mean cramming it under the couch or pushing hard) it starts making a terrible clicking noise. I'm guessing that the brushbar is beating against the plastic housing some how. When the vacuum is put completely upright it will stop making this loud, clicking noise. I'm wondering if this is why the unit might be refurbished. I'm going to call Dyson today and ask them about this because it isn't normal for a vacuum. Is anyone else experiencing this same problem?

I am glad that I didn't pay anywhere close to $500 for this vacuum. It seems good (clicking noise aside), but not worth $500 to me.
