Orders typically ship within five business days after the sale. Once shipped, delivery times vary depending on the method used.

Did you know shirt.woot ships internationally? Get you some!

I own a Dyson DC07 and have two dogs and four cats, although one of those cats is about three times the size of the others. My Dyson picks up so much fur that I have to empty the bin before I finish cleaning the carpet in my small living room; it's that good! The bin is a pretty good size, I just have a lot of pet fur in my house. I paid $400 for my Dyson new and it did not have the mini turbine brush. The only maintenance I have had to perform is to rinse the hepa filter and remove fur and hair from the brush about twice a year. If you don't have pets the maintenance would be much less for you. This is not a small vacuum. It is a beast. This is a great price even considering that it is refurbished.

I used to work for a mega retail store, and we'd sell these.

Not only did we sell them, but we would use them as display models... never did we put one to death.

We used to get a lot of these returned, the customers would tell us they stopped working etc etc etc, but they would never want to exchange it for another. They just wanted their money bank which means it was an impulse buy for them (This model retails for $549 new). Sure enough, when they left we could plug it in, and it would fire right up.

I'm moving into an old old house with a basement and room for a whole house
vacuum which I'm considering building and installing myself. Being an engineer
it's pretty straightforward and I like the idea of not having to worry about

1. noise
2. dust in the house
3. - little dust pan areas can be neat - you sweep dirt into the hole and hit the button
it's gone.

4. as an engineer I'm thinking even that it might help as a kind of 'whole house fan'
although don't take my comment too seriously. A real house fan is the right thing to have.

Has anyone here got a whole house vacuum and did you install it yourself and do you
like it? Any downside? Have you noticed any cost increase of energy?

Thanks and enjoy s ucking up the dirt - Andre

being an engineer i'm sure you must realize that you're just putting an extra long hose on an old technology.

DO NOT BUY A DYSON FROM WOOT....

My wife and I were 1st (and last) Wooters after purchasing a Dyson 6 weeks ago.

The unit is certainly not worth the price. I've used Dyson's before and it certainly doesn't live up to reputation. I would seriously reconsider buying something refurbished from this site. When calling to ask for support Woot simply threw their hands in the air with a "not our problem" attitude.

I have a cheap Dirt Devil (which we were hoping to retire) that is still the household vacuum.

Big waste of money.

Big wate of time.

Purchase at your own risk.

Got this very model last year and love it love it; now I'm in for another one so we'll have one upstairs as well.

Dysons ROCK! all that suxxing power that other people have mentioned, and should you manage to sux up something that you didn't mean to, you can get to pretty much any bit of the hose yourself to get it out without any tools or problems putting it back together. I accidently suxed up one of our fake-mouse-toys (we have SIX cats-- think we can justify a 2nd dyson??) and while trying to get it out, I found a ballpoint pen that had been sucked up who knows when, and you'd never have realized the obstruction based on the suction. These things are awesome. You do need to clean the beater bar every so often because hair and string and stuff will make it less effective-- but the suction is amazing regardless.

And Damage carpets?? Pshaw!!! One Naughty Cat with claws does more 'damage' to my rugs then this thing has. Hasn't damaged my hardwood floors either, even on the rare occasions I forget to flip it over to the 'bare floors' setting.

I admit paying $500 for the thing would be hard to chew... but $500 for Two? Seems to be going down just fine....

Anyone know if this will work good on stone/slate flooring? We have alot of it in our house and was wondering if this might scratch it?

I bought one of these off Woot last year, and I loved the thing. My wife and I raved to people about it. The only down side is the shorter warranty from buying it refurbished ( not that we had any problems with the vacuum ). We won a new one ( yellow ) at my company Christmas party with the full warranty, so we opted to give the Woot Dyson to my brother-in-law who loves it as much as we did.

It has a bare floors setting that stops the brush from spinning. I have a rough tile floor, and it picks everything up great. But, since it is a rough tile, I can't say whether or not the wheels could scratch the floor. I guess, if your old vacuum's wheels didn't scratch it, then this one won't either.

I read recently that depending on the product, about 80% of returns are due to buyer's remorse and have nothing to do with a product defect.

Alright I got one...

It says you can turn off the brush bar for delicate rugs and floors on the Dyson web sight. I have a few delicate rugs. I read dozens of reviews from amazon and of course, from everyone here and no one has really mentioned if this works, (on delicate rugs I mean). There was one review that says this vaccuum eats throw rugs for lunch, lol, but I'm refering to an area rug.

Has anyone used this on somewhat delicate area rug? Thanks

The Dyson is a design masterpiece, seriously. Every tool works great, every configuration change is smooth and simple, emptying that dust bin is simple and you never get close to the funk (even less gross than changing a nasty bag on that type of machine). I have had mine for two years, the suction is still perfect, though I have lost mos of the accessories =( It is my spider chasing cob web killing pet hair sucking space ship looking master machine, I love it.

Awesome Woot, I'm glad I held out for the version w/ the beater brush attachment for the hose.

I hope along with the army of Roomba's I can get the beagle fur situation totally under control. I need something like the Dyson to do the stairs/upholstery. The Roombas/Scooba take care of the rest.

And for the people that say roomba's are carp, come check out my house. The carpets are 95% beagle fur free where the roombas hit them every day (lets face it, they shed constantly, it'll never be 100% clean). The stairs however, are a nasty mess of beagle fur since I hate dragging out my crappy dirt devil to do them.

I use to have an orange tabby, she died about 2 years ago, but I still have 3 dogs and 2 other cats. When I bought my respiffied dyson from woot, the orange cat had been gone for over a year, and the floor had been vacuumed many times with a kenmore elite canister and a Hoover windtunnel bagless upright. first time over the carpet in the cat room with the dyson and it was full of orange hair. (along with black and white hair from the other 2 cats).

I will not buy another vacuume. Dyson forever for me, and cant beat the woot price.

The brush bar off selection works fine for floors and smaller rugs. You still get powerful suction. (Using the brush bar on a rug with fringe would be a disaster.)

I have to agree with mdrips. I, too, got a Dyson on the last round of Woot (an earlier DC14, reconditioned) and I can't say enough about it. Incredible suction power, good attachment tools - including one that's great for getting cat hair off furniture and stairs - and easy to use. As an allergy sufferer, I really appreciate the one-click canister dump - I can put the bottom of the canister in the trash, click the button, clean out the canister, without having a huge cloud of dust come up in my face and no filter to clean or clog up. I don't think I would have been able to justify paying full price for a DC14, but the Woot price is a bargain and a half, even with the shorter warranty I got. It's a great deal!

Here's some other thoughts...

I have the DC07 from Woot.

I have to empty the bin a few times during each vacuum run of my house. At first I thought "that is not that great." Then it hit me, I have to empty a FULL CANISTER more than once on each vacuum. This guy really DOES pick up a lot of dirt. I'm not great at house chores, only vacuum once a week at most. And with kids + animals I got dirt.

I can imagine this vacuum being better, but not much.

My Woot referbed Dyson came in a brown box, well packaged, and clean and shiny (looked new). Assymbly instructions were good, but not great. Parts fit together, but some seemed to need a little help (keep in mind I'm from a family of enginneers, and darn picky ones, so I really dig into mechanical aspects of all equipment I buy, to an extreme!) I could see if that if a part was mis-manufactured that it might turn into a referb unit... But then you'd be somewhat garunateed that your unit works 100% IMHO.

This is a good buy. Especially at the price. Remember that most web reviews were reviewing this at $500, not $250. Consumer Reports rated it as good to exceptional in it's tests, but didn't give it thumbs up because of cost. Now that cost is in line, you should consider that it might be more favorable in Consumer Reports' eyes...
