Giving this thread a bump, wanted to name a few places...
Mental illness affects so many people and yet so many of these illnesses are still in the dark ages as far as treatment, stigma and support goes. It can take otherwise healthy, wonderful people - often teenagers and young adults - and put them and their families into a living nightmare for which there is no clear cure, little understanding and little help. And because of all this and more, it can be tragically fatal.
Considering the large percentage of the population that have various mental illnesses, there is a shocking lack of research, funds and awareness going towards mental illness compared to other illnesses.
