My first woot, and I've been quite the lurker. I'm in for two -- as per the low investment vs. potential fun consideration. I almost regret not gambling on three.

I am in for 2...............

My friend....you will find that an everyday visit to this site, and the monthly woot-offs, result in lots of shelving covered in dust laden woot purchases. This is my 27th woot and I can count 15 previous woots within a 20 ft. radius of my computer...sigh...lots of fun tho.

Hey cantinero! Hit me with your magic arrow!.....Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers ROCK!

There is about a full 2 minutes of actual air time. It takes ~30 miuntes to charge. Its ~7 inches long and stands ~4 inches tall. The level of control depends how good you are... at not getting pissed off and throwing it at your cat. There pretty much is no "steering" but just maintaining balanace up and down. You can also control the tail rotor to make it spin about (or not spin) and if possible, keep it level to let it slowly creep forward in the air. I have managed to land mine where I wanted but only credit my mind powers more than my thumbs.

I've run a couple of these and they are quiet. Don't let them crash from too far up though.

I've had 2 of these, they are really fun but break very easily. One lasted 1 flight the other lasted about 15 flights so I'll pass even though I'm tempted...

I have purchased several like this. IF the picture is accurate, there is no plastic cover over the gear under the main rotor. That is fine as long as you don't fly it anywhere near someone's hair r anything in the house with threads hanging down.

I won't go into the details of how I know this, but lets just say it is a PULLING experience.

My 6 year old daughter has become quite good at flying these things. While not the easiest thing to control, it does take some practice. Part of the fun. Also terrorizes the cat, which amuses me.

I made my RC helicopter (one similar to the one sold here) lighter by removing all the foam, effectively leaving only the structure, the motor, and the small electronics. It flies a lot higher than before and longer.

But be careful while doing this, you can easily break it, there are very small wires to the rear motor.

That one look made of plastic so I don't know if you can do that.

I bought an RC helicopter similar to this one for my husband and my kids to play with. It was broken when we got it. I emailed woot a handful of times about this with no response, and when I called, they had a recording that online transactions had to be handled online. I had to fight with my credit card company about putting in a dispute. Worst $15.00 ever spent. It's a piece of garbage, and not even worth the postage. I have not purchased ANYTHING from woot since then, since it seems that they don't care to keep a customer happy. I would research this product further before buying it.

Glad I placed my order last night. I went ahead and wooted for two. I assume they won't last long, but my boys have had so much fun with the remote control items I have grabbed on woot. Each time these have appeared during a Woot-off, I have been unable to snag one fast enough.

We now have a remote control car and UFO...let's see what damage they can do with helicopters!

Agreed on the "remote" jheli. Once you crash it, it is worthless. Even before you crash it, you have little control of it. It is good for about 5 minutes of frustration, then it is worthless until you load more batteries into it. I consider it a $10 lesson in "If it seems too good to be true, it most likely is".

My kids have these and absolutely love them! They are more durable than the Radio Shack Micro Mosquito. The kids are quite good at controling them and having "battles." I should also mention that my cats also love them. They are like big flying bugs. One of the heli's was attacked and now does not have a tail. Cat walking around proud with her kill!

exactly...I bought 2, cause I know my daughter will destroy the first one in two minutes, and I don't want to wait another 4 - 5 months for a small flying contraption.

My first woot! In for 2!

I deliberated for a long time on it because I'm a penny pincher. I've been coming to woot for a few months and have bought nothing yet, if that tells you anything.

But then I thought, hey, my little cousins would get a huge kick out if it... and they spend 50 bucks on playstation games every week.

I bought one of these at a Woot-Off a few months ago. When I was charging it the battery blew up and shot flames out of it. It was sort of cool to see but it didn't fly too well after that :P

Hang out at the beach, and when they float over on a piece of wood, tell them they made a mistake in abandoning their lucky way of life.
