I think it should be noted if it hasn't already that, these are professional GAMING headphones and while they can still be used in a multitude of ways and devices they are primarily configured for computer gaming. See the review here:

I'm not sure what these people did to their headphones to get the "leather" to come off. I use mine daily at work for hours at a time and have had no issues with such a thing. I do wish the cord was shorter but i tied mine up and tucked it behind the computer and that works. The sound is good for the money i think especially for the comfort level.

Want good headphones-get Sony MDR series, the ones all of the music studios use. these are garrrrbage.
What's the point of using these with an iPod anyway? you invested in one of the smallest, sleekest MP3 players and then buy headphones the size of a piece of luggage?

I purchased these last time they came around hoping for the ability to pump up some music without "bleeding out" into the rest of the room.

I am disappointed with these headphones for several reasons.

1) The bass is way too much. I have to disable any bass enhancements and even lower bass on applications for it sound decent.

2) They make my head sweat if the temperature is at all above 72 in a room.

3) They "bleed out" noise. I had my friend put them on and crank up music as loud as he could comfortably listen to and I could hear it across the room. This is very unfortunate as the point of headphones is for personal listening.

4) They're a bit heavy. Comparable large headphones such as Sony and Skullcandy brands that I've tried were similar in size but were much light or perhaps just more balanced. I had a hard time getting this to sit right on my head comfortably.

If I would have paid anymore than I did I would be really disappointed.

Bought two of these last times they were offered. They're bloody fantastic. And considering the price offered for them they're seriously a bargain. If you need very comfortable ear muffs that sound perfect for dirt cheap then woot it.

Relax.

Don't know what happened to his. Mine are fine after almost a year of owning the pair. I used them heavily for gaming and still do great headphones especially for this new price.

I bought them on woot for $40 way back. Definately recommend them for this current price.

Notice I didn't mention the microphone. It isn't that durable. It works good for games but will not last a while.

quoted from gfxguy: It's got a standard mini headphone plug, so yes, you can use them with your iPod; but headphones this big require more energy to move the "diaphragm" (whatever material the speakers are made out of), so it might actually wear out the iPod charge faster.
--------------------------------- (i didn't see how to quote from a message!)

i don't remember how to explain this, but the impedance of these headphones is lower than the little ones, so the current can be the same in both and result in different voltages to move the different size speaker cones/diaphrams. off the top of my head, i would say ohm's law would probably explain it.

bought a pair last time, liked them, BUT the construction is problematic.
the part where the ear phone connects to the ?? "over your head" part is plastic, and if it breaks(as mine did in transport) then you are s((t out of luck. Everglide dosen't sell parts.

I got these in the woot-off before last.

The Seinheisers I had were nice, but the cord on them way starting to pull out and break.

You won't have that problem with the Everglides. People complain about the thick cord but it could be worse.

These are big, but aren't Heavy. I don't have any problems with the ear cups. They never hurt my ears from wearing them too long like smaller headphones do. They don't really place any weight on your ears. Also the band on the top sits further up towards your forehead which makes them feel more balanced.

Sound quality wise they are OK
The did make me buy a sound car last wootoff because of the Hiss I could hear from my onboard carp.

Another thing is they lack is a volume knob, they are very loud. Im used to having my system volume Hi and adjusting with the on cord dongle. You will hurt your ears if you leave the system volume all the way up.

Worth the price.

I wooted these last time they were offered. I believe they were 29.99. The microphone was cheap and the clip broke the first day but the headphones ROCK! I still use them. They really do reduce background noise so I can listen to movies, music or chat with them. I use them when skyping too. If you want to feel like a DJ with these it's good for that purpose too. llo. Great headphones!

No fair comparing $20 headphones to $120 headphones. They aren't as good as my Bose either, but you shouldn't expect them to be.

I bought these a while back. The vinyl is flaking off the headband, but other than that these are great. They really help block out sound, which as I use these for listening to music while I do homework, they excel at.

The cord is a bit stiff, but it is plenty long.

Other than that, these are definetley worth the $25. Have them on for hours doing homework, and they are omfortable, don't get too hot or stuffy.

Don't know, but you'll certainly look legit. Slap some stickers from obscure bands on the outside of the ear muffs, throw on some ugly sunglasses that no one would ever wear, and when people try to speak to you just stare at them, blink a few times, then go back to your mixing.

Voila. You are now a DJ.

So why did you buy these Everglides?

Excellent headphones for the price/quality range they fall under, you can't beat these in value per dollar on mp3/cd quality music.

They also reduce ambient noise by probably 7db or more, and work great when we are out shooting; instead of ear muffs, I use these with my mp3 player cranking out the tunes, adds a whole new dimension to shooting games. No more ear muffs for me. If you ever wanted to jam to stranglehold while blasting at golfballs with the 10mm, these are the ones to use.

I'm 41... and I know my hearing is not perfect, but I also know it's pretty darn good... I found a sound file online to help you determine the highest pitch (more or less) that you can hear at http://audiocheck.net/audiotests_frequencycheckhigh.php.

With headphones, I can hear it at 18k, quite loudly at over 15k.

But back to reality... who'd WANT to hear frequencies that high, anyway, unless you're some sort of masochist who likes headaches?
