llo'erskates... what a pile of carp.

anyway, these are tempting but the screen size of 1.1" is so small that even when youc op an image so that the face takes up the entire screen, you still can't tell if it's a pic of grandpa or one of his grandkids. These type of viewers are almost totally useless unless you can find one with a screen size that's closer to 2" or better.

I believe you get two with each order...isnt that correct?

Well, there is a reason why these are on Woot. Probably about 5 minutes of amusement.

And unless your wife or kids look like cartoons, don't think real pics will look too good on such a small display.

i guess it came on woot becoz it is NOT vista compatiable, im using window XP, who cares vista... vista vacuums!

I know these run on Vista, but they just do not populate the new Vista menu trees automatically. You have to go to my computer then c drive then the folder you have the photos in to load them. So these can't really be called Vista compliant.

"System Requirements:

* Windows XP and 2000"

I have to dual boot to put pics on the keychains?

Or maybe one will only respond to XP well the other only responds to Windows 2000.

lsucowboy wrote:I know it's rechargeable, but what is the battery life.... Wouldn't be a bad gift, but not for someone who won't plug it in once in a while to charge it...

Battery lasts a long time. I gave one to my Mom and when I called a month later to see how she liked it and asked if she figured out how to recharge it ok, she said what power cable. I think the battery life is about 3-4 hours of non-stop use. But since these only get turned on for a few minutes at a time to show off the pics, it seems a lot longer.

Uh huh. The infamous "just get me any old thing" bear trap. Something tells me you haven't been in the girlfriend business very long. Or you love irony. Or pain.

MichaelSF wrote:Will my little family home movie work on this. That's all I care about.

MichaelSF: I've been looking for something funny each day to cheer me up, and your post fits the bill. I do fear a bit for your family, though ;-) If that DID work, I have a couple of ideas myself, but the description doesn't say how fast it will cycle images (JPEG, BMP, or GIF, apparently no video), so who knows?

I can't find a review or manual that specifies the picture cycle rate, any Wooters have any info?

I'm kind of interested in gutting one out just for fun, but I feel a waste of money coming...must...resist.

Is it correct to assume that it won't hold 56- 8mb pictures, but convert the picture to 256kb? I didn't see total memory storage.

If you follow the ebay link, you'll see it at $26.99, but if you check completed you'll see it listed 15 times in the last two weeks with zero sales.
Not that anyone cares.

In for some. This is the exact kind of crappy thing my sons (7 and 8) love, even though they know it's trout.

I've always wanted to get some cool deal on woot.com, I would visit this site once or twice then always forget about it. Today I decided to take the plunge on something pretty cheap. But this item is pretty cool because it comes with USB cords as well.
Anyway, I bought 2, 2packs. I plan to use them as a cool little gifts this year to some relatives, full of pictures of our family(got the two year old running around

Thanks woot!

showcaller wrote:Okay, so this evenings woot is one for the PC. Guess us Mac folks will have to sit out this dance. I think I saw Mary Sue over at the fountain with a root beer float. She was looking so cute in Algebra class this week. On Friday she dropped a pencil and I picked it up to give it to her and she met me down there and winked at me and laughed. I didn't know what to say, but I am going to go over there right now and ask her if I can sit next to her. Maybe she'll let me walk her home tonight. Yeah, sometimes it pays to be a Mac guy after all and not be able to woot. Hope you all have fun, okay i have to get going before that seat next to her is taken by that dumb ass quarter back on the football team.

Also my question - as I had bought a keychain digi-viewer in a store for about $20 - not the quality one expects. It had a knack for turning itself on (pushbutton 'on' switch') in your pocket or pocketbook, and rapidly draining the battery. So it had to be plugged into its umbilical cord every day or so for recharging.

Not at all! I'm sure they accept 4 gig micro-SD cards so you can carry literally tens of thousands of 1" (diagonally measured) photos with you! You might even get to see 10% of them before the thing dies...

Now this actually looks like a good woot.. I mean these things are like 70% less than retail and not completely useless. I bet they end up in the bags of krap too. I have pondered for a few hours now for any possible way to use them but I keep coming up blank. All the people I know are either too young or too old to use them. The heart shape kinda limits their applicability too. I mean, I don't think I would feel comfortable giving it to another guy if you know what I mean.

Oh well.. I will keep trying to think of a good reason to get these.. and according to package tracking my robot dinosaur should he here tomorrow.. and I cant wait to use it to mess with my dog.
