Computers like this are basically non-portable laptops.
For a similar price, I'd rather have a laptop and wireless keyboard/mouse.
It wouldn't be as attractive, but it'd likely be more powerful and more versatile.
I mean, I bought my mom a more powerful laptop for about $240 less about a month and a half ago.

Micro$oft oughta have a rebate program where you get money back for being forced to buy a computer with Vista. Better yet, there oughta be some sort of law requiring manufacturers to sell PCs w/o an OS, and the price must be the same, minus the suggested retail price of boxed XP.

I learned this the hard way: Sony replacement parts are proprietary, which means that you will be paying big bucks for upgrades and repairs. Stay away.

Pretty male system with slow processor and integrated graphics. For a few hundred more you can buy a new system with MUCH better specs.

I bought two of these a while ago. They are great looking machines. Thanks to Vista, they are slow and agrevating to use. Sony refuses to provide drivers for Windows XP.

Uh, not necessarily. I bought a recertififed XBOX 360, and the factory that recertified it certainly wasn't Microsoft. Had to send it back for another, which was just like if I *had* a Microsoft warranty - just more confusing.

In any case, some companies buy trashed stuff by the boatload, and make a few working ones out of the many dead ones, then sell them as recertified wit a warranty NOT supported by the manufacturer, but by the recertifier. Maybe a small point, but it's a point nonetheless...

This would serve as great picture frame.
If the screen goes down the whole unit goes down.
If the hard drive goes down the whole unit goes down.
All in one units are still not as reliable. Especially Sony that is outsourcing all their products to S. Korea and Taiwan...etc.

But honestly, if you want to hang it on the wall, this product is IDEAL!!
