Just how friggin' lazy are you people? And how often are you changing the fan speed? I've got a remote-controlled fan and even though the remote does half a dozen different things, I use it for one: power on/off. If you're changing your fan like you're channel-surfing, you need help.

And cheaper?? It's half the price or less than anywhere else on the 'Net! There's no pleasing some people. (That's just what Jesus said, sir.)

Yeah, I'm a wee bit north in Seattle, and it's hot as hell here too. It's damn near half price, so even if I only use it 4 days a year here in the Pacific NW it's well worth 45 bones.

Not just for keeping cool...

I live in a condo where our's and next door's patio's are side by side seperated
by a fence. I set one of these next to the gas grill while cooking and viola! No
smoke blowing into the house next door. (or ours, for the most part)

Vornado's Rock. Once you get one you understand you get what you pay for. Very Quiet, and just top quality, This one appears to be $30-$40 under market. Nice Buy and Good WOOT. I own a Vornado I wish they'd do the Vornado Zippi in Yellow the Two for Tuesdays Orange one they had a while back where a steal. These will sell out by Noon Saturday.

shhhhhhhhhh!

Seriously...it's quite an effective design. I don't think there's anything that size that can move air w/the force or distance these can. Low: Whisper Quiet....Med: Hushed Tones...High: Soft Conversation.

That's science. I'm scientific. A trained Scientist. Watched Trapper John, MD as a kid...Mash & Quincy too.

Of all the fans I have used over the years the Vornados come in a close second behind the Japanese made Sanyo box fans. I have one from the early 90s and it is by far the quietest, best built fan I have ever used. They are becoming very difficult to find, (at least here in Idaho). It even has a rotating baffle on the front of the fan to direct airflow around the room. If I didn't already have a great fan, I would certainly get the one on Woot tonight. Vornados are quality fans which are designed to last. Many have easily removable covers so that they can be cleaned when needed. Try that with a Walleyworld Special price fan. Those are designed to I am an un-original person after only one or two seasons.

I always think it's funny when people complain about heat in places with no humidity. In Georgia, 98*F feels like you are trapped inside of a sauna.

I have a question though, when it hits around 20*-40*F here, I turn into a big baby. The apt house I'm currently in is cooled by a IR natural gas heater, and I'm wondering if something like this would help? The woot description says that this fan will help with such, but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with such a thing.

This fan sounds great, but I'm a little worried about the manual oscillation feature..

Has anyone had a chance to run this in a room with a fireplace? Curious if it will help to circulate that heat to other rooms.

The air flow comes out in a cone shape, not a straight line. Depending on the angle, you probably will still get a good breeze.

The Center of the fan is at about 26inch off the floor. I WOOTED for 2, New I saved $85 off retail when you include taxes. Looks like full retail is $79.95+ Tax. Can't loose with Vornados simple as that.

It's a fan so lets get some stuff straight before idiots start to post:

1. No, it will not work with a Mac.
2. It's a fan - there is no software to complain about.
3. Fans blow air really quick - so it will make noise.
4. Its white - want a different color? llo get serious!

ahhh, if only i could have it right now, here in OREGON - we are not cut out for this... Thanks for all the comments about quiet - purchasing this to replace the fan we refer to as the "ariplane" moves the air, but really loud. Hurry hurry UPS...

Well actually I think its Tan or Bone and not White-White even though it looks kinda in between in the pictures. Its the best WOOT since the OPPO DV-981HD DVD player. This is a great price in a Killer Fan.

Probably true as you can see that Colorado is near zero. Today's hi was 59 in Denver. A foot of snow in the mountains in the forecast for tonight. That reminds me I need to go clean my heater filter. Later

Yeah my roommate had a vornado. Our model sat on the ground and was black. The sucker (ahem, blower) pushed a lot of air, but whisper quiet is the last phrase I would use to describe it.

tornado-like is a more apt description of how loud it is on any setting above low.

Looks like it's a discontinued model.

Probably gonna be in for a couple. Just bought a $65 (on sale) fan for my garage yesterday and might just return it if these turn out to be as good as everyone says they are.

I laughed when I first saw a fan on woot, it only got up to 86 in dallas yesterday. Had to laugh even harder when I saw this comment. I'm praying it stays in the mid 80s for the next few weeks, get to save gas by not using the a/c.

The fact that you ask your husband if you can spend $50 before doing it tells me that you are a good girl.
