No email, or email arrives same day as item, is typical for Woot! Part of the Woot! charm...

This thing is fricking awesome. I just got it in yesterday and it moves some serious air just on the low setting.

just got mine today...and have to say, i'm a bit dissapointed. i bought this because of the rave reviews of it.

for those wondering about sound, its louder than a sonovabitch. and, possibly just mine, has a nasty little buzzing background noise. the plastic where the extension tube connects to the base and the fan was poorly cut and you damn well needed to pound the pieces together. but i will say it is very powerful, it really does move the air.

as for air circulation, well, i follwed the directions and what everyone says to do, and this thing is really just a powerful fan. On the high setting, you get a bit of a cool flow (a bit!) through the room, but the noise is almost unbearable. Its easily as loud as my air conditioner. Just a really loud, really short fan.

this would be perfect if it were just a bit taller and could actually be at my bed height.

Just got my two fans.Opened them up and neither box had the extension tube to connect the two pieces together.Called Voranado's customer service and they said they would send two new ones out today.

got mine today... dunno about the whole 70 ft it claims on the box. Its not what i expected but it seems to be a nice fan. I don't know about 40 dollars nice tho. Still, I think i'll like it a lot and can't complain.

In case this product comes up in a Woot Off -

Mine arrived today:

Noise level: Same as all comparable Vornado fans. Loud on high speed; quiet on slower speeds. Moves a lot of air.

Height: Unusual. Center of fan is 29" off the floor which is approximately desk top height. So only the top half of the fan is over desk height. It is like sitting a Vornado table fan with base on a 20" high coffee table.

Electric cord: I wonder what genius decided to pair a black cord with an off-white fan.

Still recommended.

Glad I jumped on this deal. At first I was scratching my head viewing the size of the box and how compact the fan was built. I was skeptical of its power until I turned the knob to low. To my surprise, this little circulator packs quite a punch for its size. It blows more air than my sturdy Patton fan even at lower speed and almost whisper quiet. Definitely a tad louder at medium and very audible at high speed. Fortunately, I can live with the noise, its passable for my liking. Only regret for not jumping on two for almost the price of one.

Agreed, I found uses for it right away. The only thing that I thought was sort of interesting were the two screws. I don't know about others but mine were very large and didn't fit in the track at all. So I didn't use them, it will be easier to make it smaller anyway I guess.

I put it together and got it started ok but can't figure out how to get it to oscillate back and forth.

(Overall signature size was getting large. Recommended signature size is 5k.)

Mine came today, also without the extension tube. Called, but cs is closed on weekends. Sent an email and hope they will send me a tube soon since it's hot here.

I got 2 and at first I thought ave deal but it has grown on me fast and hour latter I was very happy, low sound is just a light hum and fades into ambient very fast. I like the lower than average height it blows right on my face while I lay on the couch. I'd be pissed though if 2 for 2 came with out the extension post how the hell does that happen. Over all I feel like a got a very good deal but I should have just bought one.

I've set up one of the two that I bought. When it's hot and sweaty and I have my shirt off, I can feel the variations in the air movement. I have the fan ten feet away on low so I can feel the pattern of the air on my chest. The effect that they describe, where the air moves around instead of being one single stream of air can be felt. Standing to the side of the air flow, ten feet away, I feel more air movement than with other fans I have. I am really happy with this fan.

Got the 2 I ordered on Saturday morning...Installed the 1st one in the dining room to get some better air circulation. Worked like a charm! I put together the 2nd fan for the basement to blast some of the cool air at an angle up the stairs and the fan worked for maybe 3 minutes before it got loud and I heard a big pop...The engine/rotor on this thing just went kaput! I'll call up CS tomorrow morning. Otherwise this is my 4th or 5th vornado. Very good fans, and they do live up to their warranties.

Short and totally wimpy as far as moving air...

Doesn't oscillate as another pointed out. After a week of use in the garage workshop I think it's great. Moves way more air, quieter, than a normal fan of same size. This thing is designed to keep air moving in an entire room--oscillation not needed--and it does that fairly well. Worth the extra cost over a normal fan, even at the Woot price, but like the Dyson vacs would be overpriced at a normal retail price.

I am loving the 2 that I bought. I took 1 to work and the other 1 is in the computer room keeping the ambient temp down.

Great Woot.

Ach! I have the same problem. How do forget to put a 2 foot long tube in a box?

Apparently, it's very easy to forget the tube since ours came without it as well. As a first-time Woot user, I'm saddened by this -- I had heard that Woot was great.

It looks like a replacement order was put in for the item that should have shipped out. I sent you a PM with the tracking number on the replacement unit so you can monitor it and know when to expect it.

i bought this because 10 years ago, my friend showed me his desktop unit and it moved some serious air. This floor model seemed much weaker in comparison, so i am not sure if they have degraded in quality over the year, or if this is just a much lower quality unit thats offered on woot, but i am not please at all, this realy isnt better than the $15 walmart honeywell brand i had
