Actually, this works very well.

1. This is true, but the alarm and the radio do the trick.
2. and 3. It's a clock radio, not a boombox. The battery is to keep the time accurate if your power goes off, not to play music on the beach.
4. No surprise there. Why would a licensed product support an unlicensed product. I think the correct phrase here would be that Rockbox doesn't support this clock radio.
5. The controls are indeed confusing at times, but they do come with a manual. There are two buttons on the side to set the two alarms. For Alarm 1, press the alarm button once and it's set to go off at the scheduled time. Press the button twice, and it's not set anymore. To set the time, hold the alarm button 1 down until the time flashes, then use the tuning keys to change the alarm time.

The sound also works with other mp3 players, but the charging function is only for the e200 and c200 series. If you have a different player, I'd pass on this. But if you have a Sansa e200 or c200, it makes a nice charging station, plus the sleep timer works great, and the sound isn't too bad, but it's obviously no substitute for a decent sound system.

The only quibble I have with this is that the connection is picky. If you touch the radio so that it jiggles even a little, sometimes you'll lose the connection and have to reposition the player again.

If you missed out on the earlier Sansas, rest assured that Woot will eventually offer them once again.

For what it's worth, I bought this when it was a regular woot and I like it a lot. The only pain is trying to turn off the alarms, you have to kinda click the alarm, then the off button back and forth a couple times before it registers.

This thing really sucked last time and so does the sequel!

I would have to say for all those asking about changing addresses to mailing would proubably crash WOOT in the process of it all or you not be able to keep there shipping costs so low for us all.
