Have you ever heard the sound your speakers make when your phone interferes? It acts on the same frequency and picks up the same signal. It pretty much flashes when there is GSM noise.

seen similar things before... to my knowledge they only work with GSM(AT&T,T-Mobile, Etc) phones, not CDMA(Verizon, Alltel, Etc)
