As posted above, even when the site was live (at the beginning of the Woot) the link to the driver was already broken. I doubt anybody was able to download it in response to this Woot. We'd have to find someone who bought it earlier (not through this Woot) and downloaded the latest driver while the target site was still up.

Short of that, our best bet is probably to pressure Woot to work through their distributor (Gordon Brothers or whomever) to make the driver available somehow.

All this presumes that the latest driver/software isn't already included with the product.

You can grab the most recent (and greatly improved) PC drivers from the sendspace link below. The MAC drivers that are on the disc are the most recent. Hope this helps! Please re-upload/share if link expires.

edit - PS: If you've already installed the drivers from the included disc, it's best to uninstall them before installing the updated one!

Delays seem to be normal for woot, I've only wooted a few times but every item has had delayed shipping. Maybe someday they will let us all know what is causing these delays.

MANUAL (PDF): http://www.sendspace.com/file/8a035e
Note- I have no idea if this is up to date or what is currently included with the cameras. It is just the last file I have from the site, when it was up.

We don't have any relationship with the current rights owner or the previous any longer so we're about as clueless as anyone as to the backing for this now, but we designed the original camera (external appearance) and HUE brand for Clique.

The Woot product page stated:
"Warranty: 1 Clique Communications"

1 what? Presumably they meant 1 year?

It seems that Clique Communications is no more, or at least no longer has anything to do with this product. I wonder who, if anybody, will honor the warranty? I wonder if Woot bothered to check this out before they made this representation?

Haven't had a chance to use it yet.

FYI all of you faithful wooters that are waiting on your item...

apparently not ALL webcams were shipped out when they said they were. Some are going out today -- I would highly suggest woot look into other warehouse/shipping staff and DEFINATELY new shipping company...

the lower prices are nice, but it really erks me that they can take our money in 35 seconds, but make us spend days (sometimes weeks) waiting for items that we ordered.

I am sure that MOST IF NOT ALL wooters are impulse buyers... with that being said, what impulse buyer wants to wait and be dragged around waiting for something that we wanted the second they saw it. Instant gradification is impossible in this type of site, yes we know, but hiring and continuing to use a POS shipping company? Really woot? Id be willing to pay more shipping and guarentee that its here when it should be.

I got mine today... or yesterday... or sometime last week. The Post Office at my school vacuums. Anyway:

The included software vacuums, which has already been covered.

The webcam works pretty well, especially once you get it going at full resolution, so I can't really complain about that. My only real complaint is that the color wasn't what I was expecting. The blue is very... light. Then again if this is my only complaint I think we're going good...

Web cam experience is limited but can anyone say if the picture quality of these cams surpasses the quality of the cam that came in the first generation of MacBook Pro's? That's my only reference point...thx...still waiting for mine...they should get a contract with DHL to fix the shipping problems!...oh wait...no more domestic service early 2009

Just got mine.
Works perfectly with the software (SecuritySpy).
I'm using these as additions for my security camera setup.
Way better than the cams that come built in on the macs.

I do have an issue with what seems like a dirty/dusty sensor.
As I'm using it for simple security footage its not a huge deal, but it is annoying... When the lens is fully covered its very obvious that there are a few bad pixels or there is something else there...

Oh well. Company is out so I guess I can't get any replacements.

Sounds like the same issue the techgage reviewer experienced:
"Some strange artefacts on the image, as if the lens is dirty, yet it is not. Perhaps flaws in the lens itself, as they are static with the image. It is more noticeable in a dark back ground and almost looks as though it is a 'bright' spot. When I hold a piece of paper up, the spots are less noticeable, but still there. Actually I just did a little experiment. Moving the application window does not affect the location spots therefore it is not something on my monitor, or burned out pixels. Moving the camera around DOES NOT affect the location of the spots... They're on every still image, always in the same place in the window, no matter where I move the window on my desktop or zoom or move or dance a jig."

The company sent him another unit that didn't have the problem, so I wrote this off as due to an early run or bad luck, but maybe this is a common issue and they just sent him a massaged unit.

SmartPost is a combination of FedEx and the post office. Why would you search UPS?

You might want to try using the tracking number Woot sent you on the FedEx tracking page.

I emailed service@woot and they said that they messed up the labels.

Fedex says that they received the package in Dallas on the 15th, and no further information has been reported.

I just searched the wrong carrier, oops.

Same here - arrived at FedEx Dallas 11/15, no update since - but estimated delivery is 11/24.

So did Woot tell you they already fixed their label screw-up, and now it's just up to SmartPost? Or are the shipments stalled because the carrier is waiting for Woot to correct the labels?

Note to Woot: you might want to post an official update here rather than dealing with a lot of e-mails asking the same thing.

An issue has occurred with the label for your package. We are currently working with FedEx to get the labels corrected and your package moving along with the carrier. Once the issue has been corrected your tracking should update. If a new tracking is needed, we will email you the new information. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you.

Hi!

I received my pink HueHD web cameras when I returned home from work this evening.

Software installation was a snap and took all of a minute or so. The camera connected seemlessly after the software installation. I was surprised not to see a tray icon for the camera. The Philips web camera I purchased on here earlier this year has a tray icon. No worries though.

The camera functions very well. The picture is a little grainy, but the quality is good enough for my needs. I was amazed at how bright the image is even with the poor lighting near my computer.

I experimented with the included capture software and did a quick capture test. The picture and audio (yes, it has a microphone -- hehe) records in a *.AVI file, which can be played in Windows Media Player. It was actually pretty good.

I like the camera. It has a pretty purple LED on the base that glows when the computer is turned on and another pretty purple LED in the camera head that glows when the camera is activated letting you know that someone, somewhere is watching you.

For those of whom may be interested, here is the tracking information for my cameras showing the enjoyable journey they took to reach me:

Has anyone else had problems intalling either/both the CD Drivers or the one linked here? I'm running on WinXP. The install file runs, and then when it says to plug in the camera, and I do, the windows "new hardware found" pops up and says there are no drivers installed for the product (when I try to run the AMCap program it proves that it isn't working). Anyway, if I use windows to find imaging device drivers, I can install that fine but then I don't get any audio :-( If I try to install via Sound, Video, Game Controllers it doesn't work. It did tell me that the audio driver is Sonix, but considering the number of drivers they have, that doesn't help me.

Anyone had this problem and found a solution? I really want to get this figured out, since I also bought one as a gift for my mother!

Thanks

Hi, Bdreams.

I used the software that came on the included CD-ROM rather than the stuff linked to in here. The software installed flawlessly and when I plugged in the HueHD camera when prompted, it installed seamlessly. Windows XP Media Center 2005 recognized the camera as a HueHD and loaded it right up. When I run AMCap it displays the camera image perfectly. The capture button on the back of the camera functions perfectly too!

The AMCap software is pretty neat. It can also display video from my television tuner/capture card.

I don't have any useful suggestions for you. But, I thought that I would let you know that I used the CD-ROM software and everything installed smoothly without any problems.

One thing of note, none of the links that the Clique software installs actually function because all of the web-sites are gone.

Good luck!

Thank you.

Lisa :-)

Thank you.

I'm waiting, waiting, waiting, too. My package has been stuck in Atlanta for 5 days now. It says my local PO has been electronically notified. Well, that's mighty nice of them!
I guess I can electronically notify WOOT that my web cam is gathering dust in some warehouse in Atlanta. Maybe my webcam can electronically notify me what it is doing there. Somebody plug in my webcam! It's calling for help!

From Evan in customer service-
"Smartpost has possession of the packages and are simply reprinting the shipping labels."
Which begs the question, if it takes them forever to deliver a correctly labeled package, how long is it going to take them to re-label and deliver?
