Last I heard he was still waiting to hear from the freight Co. I imagine it will be later today, at least, before he hears from them.

Have to say that I'm a tad disappointed merely because the other person who received this same box only ordered one (I was told I was upgraded to three but perhaps not) but carp is carp so there's no room to complain.

llo. Guess you should feel slightly worse. But carp really is carp. I got the same thing and I only ordered one. Perhaps you would have only got the bag if you didn't upgrade

sfrsteel wrote:The Roomba needs a new battery. The one that came with it only lasts about 8 minutes..

Try reconditioning the battery first. Let it completely discharge, then remove it, press and hold the power button on the roomba for a few seconds to discharge the capacitors, then reinstall the battery and let it charge, uninterrupted, for 48 hours or so. go through a few cycles like this and see if it helps.

If not, replacement battery packs will run you about $30-40 on ebay. This is for the NiMH C packs only (you have to pop the case open and change them out yourself).

My wife LOVES the roomba, but it only runs for 20 minutes or so. I'm trying the reconditioning process now with crossed fingers...

Woot!!!! Fixed my Zune! I figure I'll post this in the hopes it'll maybe help someone else out..

The Zune I got worked fine EXCEPT that there was no sound coming from the right channel. From what bassman told me on the previous page, it sounded like a connection between the headphone jack and the logic board had broke and would need resoldering. Still nothing after trying that. I then thought maybe it was bad connections within the jack and tried to clean the points and even tried bending them back out. Still nothing. After another 5 hours of searching online I found a temporary solution that worked for me, by taking only the back case off and pressing down on the board between the headphone jack and the hard drive until I got sound. So I tried putting something in that spot to press up against the board when the case was closed, but it stopped working once the case was closed up. Then I realized that by bridging the resistors that are in the spot between the headphone jack, battery, and hard drive I would get sound on both channels! Even though its bridged mono its better than just hearing music in one ear, I thought. So I fired up the soldering iron and while letting it heat up I prodded around on the connections between these resistors with a box-cutter and BAM RIGHT AUDIO WORKS! TRUE STEREO this time!

So really I don't know what I did or how light prodding by a box-cutter fixed it. I did put some hot glue on that area previously so maybe that had something to do with it (by cleaning it or something?). I'm now an hour into listening (even bumped it around a bunch to try and make the sound go out again) and its still working perfectly.

Anyway the moral of the story is don't give up on your busted random carp! With enough patience you too can get your carp working. Now onto the busted Polaroid DVR =D

My carp just came.

1x HP Keyboard (looks brand new, Thanks Woot! I needed one)
4x Igo Adapters
1x JuicyFruit Container
1x Lowepro Camera Bag

Gave the camera bag to my boss, she just bought a new camera and wanted a bag (wouldn't fit my camera anyway, and I have a nice bag for it). Will use the keyboard, all the letters are rubbed off of mine. Let's hope it has a nice keystroke to it.

The JuicyFruit container will make a nice "White Elephant" gift, and it looks like some family members will be getting Igo Adapters for Christmas!

No Zune, No Photo Frame for my mommy. Sniffles. Anyone want to sell me one? Either one??? I'll pay your carp box plus shipping, and a little bit of handling. Please PM me!!!!!!

I feel like a d bag for giving away Ipod locks as Christmas gifts... but then again, I kinda like being a Dbag. and the look on a persons face when they receive another Ipod accessory to add to the arsenal of apple allied craps is great. The look on their face when they realize its a lock, is way better. its like the thing they are getting laid but realize that the hand heading toward the nether regions is actually balling into a fist and negotiating the proper method for testicular collision.

I got pretty much the same,

Dead Poloroid DVD player recorder - missing case screws, remote, cables, purpose.
Dead (refurbished) Zune - took it apart, the charging pins were messed up, putting it up for parts on Ebay
Camera Bag - can actually use this!
And a box of Skateboard Pendants made with plastic goodness!! - giving to a friend to use as tree ornaments.
More bags of Texas air than one could ever want. (Makes me wonder what they're breathing in Texas.)

-has been WOOTing before you were out of diapers.

Good news!

My respiffied Zune would not turn on, and that made me sad. A kind fellow wooter sent me his very broken Zune to try swapping batteries. That did the trick. Zune is now syncing/charging and installing games.

Don't know if I'll like the Zune more than my iPod 5G, but I like it a lot better now that it works!

Broken DVR and broken Zune is a bit saddening, but this Bandolier of Carrots just got a whole lot better. Thanks Woot!

So I need advice... I haven't gotten any updates on the shipment since last Monday, after they said it was transferred to USPS. SmartPost still says it's in "USPS entry." Should I call and make sure they haven't lost it or something?.. Normally it wouldn't be a huge deal but I'm leaving town on Sunday so I kinda need to have it this week.

What does the status show when you check your tracking number on the USPS website? That should give you more accurate info now that they have the package.

Yeah, their information makes me even more nervous because all the USPS site says is:

"Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on December 1, 2008 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."

:\ so i'm not even convinced they have the package.

USPS has a bad habit of not actually putting any information in until the package has actually been delivered. It's not so much package tracking as it is delivery confirmation.

OK, Smartpost question:

I had my Bandolier of Carrots shipped to my office so I wouldn't miss the postman when they attempted to deliver during the week. Guess what? They attempted to deliver to my office on Saturday when nobody was here. The tracking site says "Attempted/Notice Left". Last time they did this at my house, I got a little orange card, went to the nearest post office and picked it up no problem. This time there is no orange card to be found, so I went to the post office a block away from the office and the guy could not find my package either.

SO, my question is, will USPS attempt to redeliver, or is my precious carp in package purgatory?

More than likely, they will attempt a redeliver and/or leave notice that its being held at post office. They usually give 3 notices before sending back to shipper.

Call your local post office and they can tell you if it is out for delivery. If it's not, just go pick it up. I've picked up my last three craps that way. No point in waiting!

I've had that happen. No orange notice. It's on the truck and it'll be delivered again. Not to worry... Unless it doesn't come in the next day or two.

Very pleased with my Bandolier of Carrots, as always. Got the Standard assortment of craps, iGo's, PC LE key, another JVC Camera Bag - Which I have found to make a most excellent shaving kit/toiletries bag for traveling, and My most favorite WOOT BANDOLIER OF CARROTS EVAR, A ROBOSAPIEN! His box was beat up, but he was still wired in with all those PITA twist ties from hell that toys are packaged with now, so I assume that he is new. He works great, and is a great compliment to my roboreptile (they fight!) They are currently part of our Christmas decorations - Gerald R. Ford is the big dino on the left, and Robosapien or Murray as we call him, is the big guy on the right, holding baby Jesus.

Brits on Champagne arrived today. Great haul (box a bit beat up - less Smart Post more Bashed Post).

. Respiffed Black Zune (charging now) with headphones and cable and bag (yes - a bag)
. Polaroid DVD with usual missing stuff - IDE cable, hard drive but with remote
. Lowepro camera bag

and ..and...

The Mystery of the Mind Thieves look and listen record and book (where do they get this stuff?)

Thank you Woot - lots of fun as ever. Anticipation worth the entry fee alone.

But be warned: you'll want to stay far away from Woot.com this week. The breadth and scope of bargains we'll be offering - especially starting Tuesday morning at midnight - will be powerfully tempting. They could even lead you back down the spend-spend-spend path with the rest of the sheep. And that would make us sad enough to cry while we're taking your money.

Yes i got same email from wootbot.

Here is C & P of my email.

Welcome to Woot's first official recession-era newsletter! For the next 12 to 24 months, all citizens are expected to fret over, worry about, or even directly experience the nadir of a consumerist society - Ovaltina, my goat! What will we do when we stop buying stuff? Economists now agree that we're headed through a prolonged period of decreased consumer spending (you really need an advanced degree to come up with insights like that). Beyond that, it's anybody guess. Will the only growth sectors in the economy be shoe repair, pipe salvage, and roadside apple sales? Or will we bring on a quick recovery by doing patriotic things like buying stuff we can't afford and spending more money than we make?

As a retailer, it'd make sense for us to fall in with the BUY STUFF, AMERICA conga line. But by now, you know that we at Woot never do things the "normal", "sensible", "rational", "intelligent" way. We're not about to follow the herd over a cliff. When we go over a cliff, it's because of our own poor judgment, not someone else's. That's been our credo since about five minutes ago, when we first thought of it. And we've stayed true to it ever since.

That's why we're encouraging you and your fellow wooters to save this holiday season. Save your money! Save until you pull a saving muscle. Horde your money until you are literally choking on it. Save until maybe, like, mid-February or so, when the market will be a-glut with great deals for the taking every day. You'll avoid the crowds, take advantage of desperate retailers, and not have to hear "Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time" even once.

Sure, maybe you'll disappoint some of your loved ones. But if they really love you, they can wait a couple of months, especially if your finances are at stake. Besides, if your so-called loved ones wanted you to set yourself on fire, would you? Of course you wouldn't. And that's the kind of independent thinking that will one day break the mindless conformity of our consumerist holiday ways.

See you in February!

1 GPX under-the-counter Clock/Radio/CD unit
1 Oregon Scientific RP107 Altimeter/barometer Watch (not sure if it works or not, haven't tried a battery in it yet)

11.8lb Random bag x3 via "I want 3" button arrived while I'm away, but visitor brought it to me at the snowmobile camp, thus no pics (unfortunately, as one item appears new to this thread).

Some common contents:

Not much air, 4 adapters sans tips, a camera bag fitting my Pentax from Woot.com as if it was made for it, one of those Wrigley doodads,

and lastly, an item I thought I remembered Woot.com offering, but no luck finding one to link here on a "very quick" search (as it's minus 14 degrees out here at the WI-FI area):

a tailgate kit in a very large duffel-type bag with a zillion pockets, built-in cooler bag, charcoal grill, and several kick-ass grill accessories that alone are worth my eight bucks.

THANKS WOOT!

It's usually once a month or so, but historically the December ones have been towards the beginning of the month because of Christmas coming up, which puts it in close(r) proximity to the November one.
