I started branching off of hip hop/r&b a few years ago and was put on to radiohead. I bought the best of album instead of all of their cd's but I like it. Then I got In Rainbows, the album rocks. I'm in on this woot.

anyone know if this is Radiohead selling this, or their former label?

I heard that after the In Rainbows "free download" their former label retaliated by re-releasing some of their old stuff, againt Radiohead's wishes. Label was just wanting to make some bucks since they weren't getting anything off of In Rainbows.

Not that it matters that much. I was just wondering because my first reaction was, "Well, I love those albums, and I love that band, so why not support them and finally have the real discs instead of ripped downloads...." But then I decided I don't need to support a record label, and I've already got all these files digitally, and if its not even a real CD case, why bother....

When this says it has original artwork, does that mean ALL of the liner notes and artwork faithfully reproduced? IIRC, some of the albums Kid A+ had pretty complex liner notes with a lot of artwork and transparent pages and what-have-yous.

If someone can confirm or deny that this set contains an entirely faithful reproduction of the aforementioned, it would influence my purchasing decision.

Yes, if you buy this you're supporting terrorism. ;)

Radiohead denounced this collection as a way for EMI to get fans' money. These aren't remastered, they're just in digipaks in a box.

If you're trying to give Radiohead money by buying this, you're not.

Still a good woot if you don't care about politics and want great music.

In Rainbows was published originally by Radiohead themselves and eventually by another record label. Screw Capital Records and this silly attempt at a "complete-set."

Radiohead will be making great album for years to come.

radio, radio...

I was tuning in the shine on the light night dial
doing anything my radio advised
with every one of those late night stations
playing songs bringing tears to me eyes
I was seriously thinking about hiding the receiver
when the switch broke 'cause it's old
They're saying things that I can hardly believe.
They really think we're getting out of control.

Radio is a sound salvation
Radio is cleaning up the nation
They say you better listen to the voice of reason
But they don't give you any choice
'cause they think that it's treason.
So you had better do as you are told.
You better listen to the radio.
[ Find more Lyrics at www.mp3lyrics.org/Qiu ]

I wanna bite the hand that feeds me.
I wanna bite that hand so badly.
I want to make them wish they'd never seen me.

Some of my friends sit around every evening
and they worry about the times ahead
But everybody else is overwhelmed by indifference
and the promise of an early bed
You either shut up or get cut out;
they don't wanna hear about it.
It's only inches on the reel-to-reel.
And the radio is in the hands of such a lot of fools
tryin' to anaesthetise the way that you feel

[Chorus]

Wonderful radio
Marvelous radio
Wonderful radio
Radio, radio...

Dear Woot. Thanks for posting an excellent product at a great price. You would have got me but I came prepared. I've already bought all these albums! Maybe next time. And don't try to post any more Sansas with excellent ratings at low low prices. You got me for 6 already and I'm not getting any more!

I don't think they made the choice.

more likely that they gota truck load and they are unloading it.

Lucky that it was not some horrible band is all.

Nope, this box set is what Radiohead released under EMI. In Rainbows was on their own label after they left EMI.

The Bends is one of the best albums of all time!

This box set would be for the fan who doesn't have all of their albums by now, but then again who doesn't?

Also if anyone has never seen Radiohead in concert, I would highly suggest it. I have seen them 5 times and they get better everytime.

Radiohead still gets a percentage of each album sold.

Generally, that percentage will go up the more records they sell (depending on the contract).

Love Radiohead, but that price for the box set really isn't all that hot. If you're planning on buying the set anyway, then yeah, you'll save a few bucks probably, but it's not a smokin' deal or anything.

Now, if this was the Limited Edition USB Stick, then we'd be in business.

Don't worry. If you DO "steal" by downloading more of their albums you can just make up for it by "naming your own price" on their website again. Oh wait! You can't because they took away that opportunity when the album went up for sale physically. PTERODACTYLS!, they almost had it right. I think I'll go buy some Nine Inch Nails music now.

I have been listening to radiohead since the days of the bends and this is soooo tempting..

I am thinking about it since i have all the albums already but not the nice boxet package.

Are the albums any different other than the package??

edit: I paid $5 for In Rainbows and downloaded it from their website. They might have taken it down eventually (confirm?) but it did work for a while...

Can't answer your question about who has the selling rights to this boxed set, but why not buy one as a gift for a friend? I would be unbelievably surprised and THRILLED to find such a gift for me for ANY occasion!!! Rock on, Radiohead!!!

The bends = One of the best albums ever.

Radiohead rules, but this set is probably only really good for people just getting into the band (or people who don't own any hard copies of the albums).

I'm going to save my money and try to find some rare Radiohead vinyl records instead. This is a sweet deal for sure though. However, if you don't have the funds right now, don't sweat it. You can get it from amazon.com for a few more bucks at any time.

Four of these albums are excellent, two are good, and one is a solid live album.

That being said, I'm not sure who this is for except perhaps the budding Radiohead fan. I've got all of this and lots more and no need to spend $40 on stuff I already own.

It would be better if it included Airbag/How Am I Driving and the My Iron Lung EP.

Oh, and then CDs break and scratch all of the time.

Oh yeah, and the jewel cases break easily.

Oh, and half of the time you can't find the CD you want at any store.

Oh right, and most music isn't worth the money charged for it, but at least when downloaded it gets listened to. I mean I can understand if a band wants to get paid for their music and sacrifices potential fans that might have liked their music and maybe gone to a concert and earned the musicians more money anyway.

Any musician that cares more about money than people liking their music is an chocolate starfish anyway.

Why would I want to buy a set of boxes, even if they ARE limited edition? Maybe a set of lunch boxes, but these are cardboard, aren't they?

What's that, you say? There are CDs in the boxes? Well then you mean a BOXED set, that is, a set of items CONTAINED in a box. Well why didn't you say so?
