Not much on the Google about these, but I did find this link:

http://www.bikudo.com/product_search/details/128016/bookmark_light.html

The product is 5.1 cm wide, so it couldn't quite fit an AA battery. I'm guessing AAA. That would be sofa-king-we-todd-did if it didn't have a replaceable battery.

Hmm, you *almost* got me to buy some with that reasoning.

Gosh... these are really GREAT devices if you want a lot of eye-strain before you are eventually blinded for the rest of your life. The illumination is SO uneven that it isn't worth it - really.

In for 3x3. Lots of readers in my family and circle of friends. These will be great to go with booky gifts.

15 Woots and counting...

Well...a bit of googling found what SEEMS to be the official website, but they have less info than woot gave us. Also, the price there seems to be...$0.00 for a case of 48. Didn't bother creating an accound to find out what shipping is; 144 booklights might be a little bit overkill, even for me.

Yep, they are cheap, but quite useful. You can clip them to the neckline of your shirt for things like sewing or any thing you need a little extra light for, or clip to your seatbelt in the car-also great for lighting up your face on webcams (get your minds out of the gutter, useful when talking to your mommies on skype-you know the poor duck has trouble seeing you on camera)!

Toxic waste for American landfills that ends up in our drinking water. LED light may last 10,000 hours but battery won't make triple digits.

Here is an identical looking item at amazon for nearly $15. We are getting a great deal. And who cares about battery life? I'll probably lose, gift, or break all nine of mine before they die. Amazon says they take a button cell battery (if they are truly identical).

oooh! these look really good! The problem with most reading lights is that the light is just too bright, throws off too much light around the room. These look much smaller and focused.

Oh yeah - like there aren't really quite directional lamps available (the cheapies at W*lmart are particularly good in this respect if you don't touch the reflector - it gets HOT.) And what, praytell, is wrong with 25 or 40 watt bulbs? They -usually- give you enough illumination and it is even enough that you can read with a modicum of comfort.

And your bed partner is such a putz that they require absolute darkness to sleep? C'mon, give me a break! (and no, don't ask "Arm or leg?")

Even with 9 ($1.99 x3 + $5) it's still over $1 each.

UPS/Fedex should be $5, but smartpost should be F-R-E-E that spells FREE.

Do wooters never read? So much complaining!
Other book lights cost $10 for ONE. None of our dollar stores have ever sold book lights.

All the others I've owned are so heavy and akward, so maybe these cheap ones really will work like a paper-clip!

These will be great additions to gift bags for teachers, and for my kids during car rides at night. 3x3 is a great deal.

Yeah, the woot-off suspense is keeping everyone checking. Better buy these lights or you'll see them all over the next WO.

OK, I know they shouldn't let me get at the psychotropic drugs, but I think that your girlfriend is NOT going to enjoy being retrofitted with a bunch of cheap reading lights. After all, where were you, exactly, thinking of integrating them into (around, near) her body in the first place.

An AAA battery measures 44.5 mm in length and 10.5 mm in diameter

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AAA_battery

Looks like about the right size for a AAA battery... it would be one of the cheapest things to shove into it too. Now if we could only find out if it was replaceable, that would be really nice.

This would definitely come in handy for the wife- always losing her book lights, and always needs one in the car on those long trips at night.

Yeah, I used my circa 1967 Tensor desk lamp to read my book on the train. Thing is, I only got about 100 yards from the station when the extension cord broke and nearly put out an eye.

Go figure.

I'm in the market for a booklight so I almost jumped on this--until I realized that they would only be good for looking at Victoria's Secret Catalogs under the covers. If you use them on a book, you'll need to move them every page, and they may not do such a great job of lighting the entire page--and then there's that battery replacement issue.

Sorry Woot, Give me a quality AA battery powered gooseneck book light and I'm in--until then I'll keep holding the flashlight with my free hand.
