I am not sure it is related but our Roombas may be out of one's depth.... :-(

Got mine today, in VA. It was delivered to work first thing this morning. I didn't pay much attention to the Fedex ship info. This arrived MUCH faster than my first woot, which took almost 4 weeks to get here.

This is my first Roomba. I charged it today while at work, then put it to the test in our sunroom (tile floor) tonight. It cleverly navigated its way around the furniture, never getting stuck once. It's more of a powered sweeper than a vacuum cleaner. I gotta say it's mostly a geek toy that sorta cleans.

The cats hate it. :-)

I also got my tracking this morning. It says info was transmitted to fedex on the 25th with estimated delivery on the 28th. However, it shows no pickup or transport yet. I'm wondering if I should actually expect the roomba tomorrow, or if it's a completely innacurate estimate.

Quoting myself from an earlier post. To give those with stagnant fedex tracking some hope, mine started that way. It eventually updated to show pick-up on the 27th with expected delivery of the 1st. Today it updated again to show delivery (in MI) tomorrow.

My guess is that Woot generated all of the shipping labels at once and is actually getting them on packages and giving them to fedex in smaller batches.

To those that just got your roomba. Congratulations!

Does your roomba comes with iRobot original box, or does it comes with Fedex box?

What is the dimensions of the fedex box?

Thanks in advance.

Somebody complained in an earlier post that it was in an iRobot box, making it a theft target. Not sure on the size.

I am not impressed with the shipping. This was ordered on March 25 and did not ship until March 30. Granted there was a weekend in there but 3 business days just to get it out of the door? It seems unreasonable even with a $5.00 shipping charge. Maybe I am just spoiled with fast shipping from other online retailers.

I received shipping info on Friday at 2:00 am but the only update in Fedex website is:
Shipment information sent to FedEx: Mar 25, 2009 9:23 AM

what is going on? it's being 7 days since the order, is this WOOT's normal way of doing business??

This was my first time ordering at woot but I think I'm not ordering any more, I haven't experienced such a delay and uncertainty before!

Cheers.
=J=

I've ordered before and have never had a problem. I've been very happy with WOOT! up to this order I do see that the shipment info has been updated so that makes me feel a little better about the order. "crossing my fingers"

Got my shipment update at last, it shipped 3/31, (not 3/25 as stated on the fedex website).

I'm in CA, so scheduled to be here on 4/2.

Ah well, as she he/she is on their way.

And it was shipped from TX, so I guess thats why some got theirs much earlier

corporateclaw wrote:Non Fedex question: How long should the battery last on my roomba before it needs to recharge? I have googled around a bit and tried to read a bunch of reviews, but they just say stuff like "cleaned 3 rooms before needing to recharge" which sort of helps, but does not give me a time.

iirc it was an estimated 3 hour run time.

Woot clearly states that it may take up to 5 business days to ship orders out. I agree, though, they're slow.

Did you try using your order number as the reference number as per this post?

Got mine yesterday,3/31,dumped on front porch. Luckily I don't have a thievery problem here. When I have really valuable items shipped via fedex, I have it delivered to one of their pickup locations and they will hold until I pick it up. Usually faster too.

Well I got mine today and when I pulled the slip for the battery out it beeped at me.

I plugged it in on the charger and the indicator showed it was charging, and the light on the roomba was pulsating orange. It then made several tones like it was straining, over the course of maybe 30min it would beep and bark for 2-3 seconds then stop.

Now the roomba has no charging indication on it other then the base station is showing its charging...

But its been on charge for 4 hours now and theres no charge light or anything on the roomba

Mine has been working wonderfully. I have 2 long haired cats and I have to clean it often, I cleaned it 3 times in one use yesterday. It picks up more than I expected and it seems like a little workhorse. I love that I can turn it on and walk out of the room. The lighthouse has been great because I only have to pick up toys in one room at a time. Mine lasts nowhere near 3 hours. Probably closer to an hour or so, but that's fine since I only have it do one or two rooms at a time. Sofar I am very pleased.

well after charging for about 8 hours the light came on and pulsed for a bit. Went out for dinner and came back and it was solid green. I took it off the dock and it stayed solid green for about 5min then the light turned off.

Im a really techie person, but cant figure this thing out.

I have the charger plugged directly into it right now, but its not showing any lights.

Mine arrived yesterday. I let it dock and charge then let it do it's thing. I have 600 sq foot condo so it can get the whole place on one charge. So fricken cute when it docked it's self at the end, lol!

I thought I had a name for it picked out, but I changed my mind and now I don't know Kirby, Peep, Quirby... mine is a male though, hahaha!

I'm impressed with how well it cleans and taking my cat hair it cleans up out of the rollers only takes a min. This was a steal of a purchase!!!

And thanks to the guy who suggested having it shipped to a FedEx pickup location and them holding it there, great idea that I'm going to do next time I get something via FedEx.

Now to go buy that extended warranty...

Mine arrived today w00t. Now I've got to wait overnight (assuming someone doesn't steal it first) to charge it. Then time to entertain the kids.

For those having battery problems, your best bet is to ask the questions at the Roomba Message Board. You'll most likely get your answer much quicker.

Delivered yesterday, charged overnight, then turned it on. It started picking up garbage, compressed it into blocks and stacked it up in the yard. Now it's picking up junk in the neighborhood and building walls of blocks! How do I stop this thing? Oh, it's making friends with all the cockroaches too.

Does anyone knows if the older charger from discovery 4210 can be use for charging the 535?

Is the charging connector the same for both 535 and discovery series?

Although I was skeptical, I purchased this for the household since my wife always wanted to try one of these "robots". I thought it would be more of a toy. Wow, was I surprised! Great suction power for a small unit. This is perfect for picking up pet hairs from our Jack Russell Terrier! Although I would not expect it to do an upright vacuum job, we cannot tell the difference. We have no carpeting so cannot judge there. We were please it can manuver over thresholds from one room to the next. Great product so far!

Well, mine took a scaffolding at 5 1/2 months of age. The brush/rubber rotating bars don't rotate anymore. I have to find out the serial number and such, I guess, to contact Square Trade for warranty assistance. Off online to find out where the model and SN are located. Wishing myself luck!

Mine also stopped working a few weeks ago. This sale had a 1 year warranty, though, and iRobot is kind enough to send out a replacement (yay!).

Ours is still running strong, nearly two years later.
I've been diligent about cleaning it thoroughly, and often. Once in a while, i'll apply a little 3-in-1 oil to the wheel parts.
HUGE FAN of this little guy. We use it maybe twice a week, mostly in our living room. The 535 does a great job on our big area rug, and wood floor.
