i still don't know what to do my with door stop of a scooba. Once the warranty is out, repair is not an option. Anyone use a roomba for more than a year?

Yes, the next-gen Roombas have replaced the lighthouse with an internal GPS...

All we have are wood floors with a few area rugs. It works great on both and usually negotiates the transition between them fine. If it gets hung up, it lets you know. If you're not around, it just shuts down.

I don't know what's with people and their Berber carpets. Just like any other vacuum, Roomba work fine on Berber, unless you have a falling apart Berber with loose strings everywhere.

Depends on what you are looking for to work. If you want something to go over your carpets on a regular basis and get the worst of the crud or pet hair, these ROCK!

If you are looking for something to keep your house hospital steril and deep clean your carpets, they don't do that.

I have an older model and would LOVE this upgrade. I like to set the older one to run while I am away at work. I come home to clean carpets. Yes, I have to prep my house some (clear floor space, close doors I where I don't want the roomba to go), but I don't have time when I come home with two small kids to vacuum everyday, and this does a prefunctory job.

And this is the HSN exclusive model.... that should get them to sell out faster.....

These are pretty cool... my parents got me one for Christmas last year and it's kinda nice to push a button on the robot, leave to go shopping or have some fun, and come home to a clean apartment! And he goes home by himself to recharge... he is too nice!
