So it's your contention that there should be no one under the age of 18 allowed on the w00t site?

cvice wrote:Seriously. I'm being serious. I've had several digital cams over the years - nikon, fuji, HP, etc. etc. That particular poloroid was really, really bad. Just a terrible design all the way around. From fit/finish, to software, to quality of pics taken, it was garbage. I'm not over-stating that. It was bad. The tv was bad too. It was one of those under-cabinet flip-down LCD tvs and it was bad. Really bad.

The HP digital cameras are nice--I've had a couple and was satisfied until I bought a Sony Cybershot. The Canon G10 is the way to go, though, for a point and shoot. You mentioned Nikon--they are in a higher class than HP, Kodak, Sony, etc.

As far as the the cabinet-flip-down LCD, that explains it. Most of them regardless of brand have a tendency to "die". My 26" Polaroid, though, has been enjoyable.

I'm wondering if the Polaroid camera you had was a rebranding of a Mustek or Casio?

Check out the formatting guide before posting a link....

If you want the URL itself displayed as the link you can do this by simply using:

No, it is MY INTENTION.

You can Woot! if you want to, you can leave Amazon behind, because if you don't buy the Woot! from the real Woot!, then you're, no friend of mine. Say we can Woot!, we can Woot!, they're doing it from home to home.

if I could find a pic of that poloroid to post I would, but it was a few years ago, and it's pretty old now. The problem with the tv had nothing to do with the mechanism that flipped down. It was electronics inside the main part, and poloroid themself admitted it was a bad design when I called them about it, but it was like 10 days past warranty and they said sorry...

No, but an adult can enter into the contract and give permission for the minor to use a prepaid credit card online so long as there is no borrowing involved.

I am not sure, however, how it would apply to Woot!

dude get over it... a minor has as much right to sweet deals as the rest of us. If they are using a credit card its in their parents name and their parents know what they're doing. If the parents give them permission it doesn't matter.

The problem is that, in most states, the minor can pull out of the deal (since it was illegal) and does not have to return the merchandise.

Read the post to which you responded. The adult enters into the contract, and the minor buys the product with the blessing of the parent.

I didn't say that the minor entered into the contract on his own, did I?

To be technically accurate, in most states a contract signed by a minor cannot be enforced. There is nothing illegal about entering into the contract. The person entering into the contract with the minor just might get screwed.

OK.. I've had this for a week now. The unit turns on then turns off after three seconds. (New alkaline batteries.) Polaroid tech support said prepare for an RMA, but also said something very interesting... He recommended rechargeable batteries or Lithium Ion batteries because a new set of alkalines will only last about 10 shots. This is pretty scary. Anyone seeing this?

Ive had mine for about half a week, the first two days it worked just fine, but now when i hit the on button the little green light flashes for a second and turns off. im using rechargeable batteries.

thanks again woot.

So far this is working like a $60 camera should.. takes about a second to actually take the picture so no motion shots. Using 2700mah rechargeables but even they do run out quite quickly, especially with many (30 second warm up) flash shots.

The number of mega pixels is kind of overkill since the lens and sensor don't get enough light in to make a picture worthy of that resolution but....for the money it works.

I have to say this is one of the WORST pieces of electronics I have ever bought. BLOWS through the batteries, I'm talking about 100 snapshots and the 2 AA batteries are dead... on top of that the pictures are O.K. but nothing special... it is very cheap and plasticy... and the memory card slot only works sometimes... you have to reseat the card a couple times just to make correct contact.

Next time you see these go up for sale, you're better off taking your $60 and flushing it, that way you don't get your hopes up that you might get a good camera, only to be extremely disappointed.

Horrible camera, horrible.
