It scares Me when people from the inbreeding states compare bait to sushi - that's like comparing losing your virginity to sex with your sister.... Wait, nevermind I understand ya'll now :)

My wife makes sushi all the time. It's pretty cheap and easy. You should be thinking about Christmas with this woot. For ten bucks this is an easy gift.

Never put the words "wife" and "cheap & easy" in the same statement - In the time it takes to pack your bags you could save a bunch of money on your woot insurance.

Those disappointed by the lack of raw fish in the deal take heart - after this last week of woots, Woot has now officially jumped the shark. So look for deals on a used shark in the next few days.

Sushi was actually popularized in California, not New England...you guys lost the war almost 150 years ago, it's time to stop blaming everything you don't like (oral hygiene, hybrid vehicles, sushi) on us!

We've already got one sushi making kit, and some additional ceramic trays, but when the lady and I decide to go through the effort of getting some high-quality sashimi-grade stuff (yeah, your local seafood department stuff is too iffy), we go all out and make mad quantities.

So, this will get us an extra rice mat for 2-person sushi rolling and more trays....boy, I reall yneed to have friends over for a sushi dinner already.

10 bucks! Thanks WOOT! (got 2, one for me, one for xmas present...rock!)

Top Woots: Kindle, Belkin SpeedPad, SOG Outdoor Gear, Little Giant ladder, Dyson DC14, InFocus 61" DLP (R.I.P., old boy)

"Sushi at Home Kit for 4"..... That means I would have to eat this stuff in front of other people.

I'll have to pass. Nice, cheap woot, though.

I like sushi, not gonna make it at home cause it's real hard to get good fish here, but I bet this woot sells out.... Which means it's a good woot! And what's this crap you people are complaining about refurb. stuff? If you don't want refurb go pay retail moron.

My 9-year-old son *loves* sushi. I got up the guts to try it at a Chinese Buffet (in Athens, Texas, yaaaahoo!), and of course he went for it too. We were both hooked, though he hasn't gotten a taste for the Wasabi yet (does it actually have a taste, or is it just the explosion in my sinuses?).

What sold me on this Woot, though, was that my boy has wanted to *make* sushi ever since he watched the guy at the buffet do it. We'd cleaned out the last of the sushi, and it was almost closing time, but I guess seeing my son disappointed at the sushi bar was an inspiration for the cook, so he rolled up a few more courses. My boy was fascinated, and this is going to be a great surprise for him.

Now, I just have to teach him to wash his hands... yes, EVERY time. :)

Cr@p-free no more as of 5/26/2010!

Well, I'm from North Carolina and I like sushi. What I don't like is idiots who think they own 'Southernness' and therefore have the right to disparage anything they don't like as un-Southern. Well, friend, we in the South take our culinary cues from a wide variety of sources and we have never been afraid to eat anything - so long as it tastes good. A good bite of sushi lathered in wasabi tastes a lot like a good bowl of gumbo sprinkled with hot sauce. That's as Southern as it gets friend. Being Southern doesn't mean being closed minded and afraid - or at least it shouldn't mean those things.

When I'm overwhelmed by masochism, here are the things I do:

* Slam a door on my fingers.
* Smash my toes with a hammer.
* Puncture my cornea with a needle.
* Pull my nails out with pliers.

When I'm REALLY overwhelmed by masochism, I come read the woot forums. Keep up the good work!

Today, I am a Wooter.

I can't believe my first Woot! buy was 3 sushi kits. Fortunately, that takes care of the "Christmas gifts under $10.00" rule for my work friends, 2 of whom are serious foodies and sushi eaters.

Yay.

So... what's the statistical probability of getting a Blue Öyster Cult, now that my Woot! innocence has gone the way of all things?

This is not entirely to say that anyone with a different dialect is incorrect. I speak English and I tend to smack fools saying "y'all" and "all of y'all" instead of "each of you" or "all of you."

"All of y'all"? That really IS too much! Everyone knows it's "all y'all". The "of" is superfluous and smacks of pretentiousness. Also, the translation is lacking. "Y'all" = "y'ouse" and "all y'all" = "y'ouse guys".

wow after being a long time woot-watcher (hope petermans didn't trademark that yet.. SUCKA!) I finally bought something..

and it's not even for me.. ... boy I need to loosen these handcuffs my gf's got me in.

Seriously though this is a great deal for anyone who's interested in making their own sushi. The savings of homemade versus restaurant is HUGE and anyone with a little patience can make it just as good.
