are you able to hook this up to a tripod?

These are great little toys! Mine came covered in sand, but works fine. Getting another one. They're great to hand out to friends and family and especially the kids! Get the brightly colored ones to be sure they're found again. Running on AA batteries makes this the best Flip ever! No more waiting for two hours while the battery recharges, just pop in new batteries and keep shooting.

Come on, at least get some HD camcorders in... I would drop money on those instantly.

I thought with so many problems it would be something good. :-(

I got one of these a month or so ago. I absolutely love it! The kids and I have already killed one set of batteries, and the MIL can finally get her kid-fix from a couple thousand miles away.

the description says it doesn't need any sd cards but does it have a slot for them so you can expand the memory or are you stuck with the 2GB?

Just bought the Flip Mino HD yesterday.@ COSTCO for $199.00 Very nice camera but the Woot one is NOT HD woulda been back at COSTCO in the morning had it been.

I own one and it blows chunks of cabbage and corned beef. I've had it since christmas, and it hasn't worked. It's preloaded with software that somehow kills my computer whenever it attempts to load. Seriously, you plug it in to Vista, service pack 1 (32 bit) and three seconds later your monitor pretends it's in 'The Matrix' and you have to reboot the system. I've been working with their customer service, but they haven't found a solution yet. If it wasn't a gift I'd return it.

Bought one of these here in March for $10 more for my wife and she loves it. If I didn't already have one I'd jump all over this deal. My sister has the 30 minute one and she loves it too.

How well are these built?

Is the USB Arm sturdy, or does it feel like it is going to crack off?

Was there a frame rate mentioned for these, or did I just miss it because I'm a blind dolt.

They're actually fantastic.... very easy to use.. shoots pretty damn decent video too.

These things are awesome! I have two! The picture and sound quality is so impressive. The integrated software application is a no brainer also. It's very cool how it can compress a long video into something you can email. Caught my little one's first steps on this thing and emailed it to everyone! A good price! I highly recommend!

I don't know why all of you people complain about the flip. They make perfect camcorders when you're on the go. Also, give em to the kids for presents. You know they eat up anything that's neon colored.

My brother has one of these. He rigged it on a monopod and videos himself doing stuff like hiking (a la Survivorman). For things like that, these are mighty convenient, but for taking vids you actually want to use (like DVD quality), get something else.

For whoever said these suck:
They most certainly do not, I used them for (stupid, but that's irrelevant) a class project where we had to interview someone, and I was pleasantly surprised with the audio and the video. Besides, what are you expecting for $70?? They take about as good of video as a digital camera might

I've bought several of these for the school I support and they get used ALL the time.

The picture and sound are really good for such a small unit and really, and it is extremely easy to upload the video (sent some on a field trip and the video was uploaded to YouTube before the kids got home--good for parents, good for educational use later).

So basically it's nice and small, but takes cruddy pictures.

limit on youtube is 10 min. try vimeo

Wow, these again? Shouldn't that qualify them for permanent sellout.woot status?

Lower the price and these would sell better! I can get a 2GB MicroSD card for my phone and shoot as good of quality photos as this, then take out said SD card, put it in my computer, and transfer things. Can't connect directly to a TV, but it's $60 cheaper that way.

Always interested in what the pros (or maybe it's just their kids who have written the reviews as a school project?) have to say over at cnet.

Can be a lot of fun but keep in mind it's a cheapo with crappy optics and no image stabilization.

The best part is that if it falls into water, you can get another without shedding a tear.

These are pretty good, my mom has one and she loves it. these are not for making a feature length movie... but, if you want to record a kids event and don't want to spend 500+ on a full size camcorder, it works.

(better then the video record on your digital camera, and its very small)

A bit promising everyone should buy one!

I have to admit, every time these are posted, I want them more. They seem like they'd be great for *ahem* sneaking into concerts.

On the other hand, though, what sort of advantage do these have over a compact digital camera with video capability? If I wanted stills and video, would I have to take this in addition to my camera?

My 15 year old daughter uses hers with Vista and hasn't had a problem.

Sellout is having repacked Mino's for $39 only.
