Dear Woot Gods,

Please consider changing the Random guppy during Woot-Offs. It has become very predictable...always around dinner time in the Woot-Off. If you just tune in between about 5 and 7, you'll probably see it. Which is really, really frustrating to those of us who work nights and have no way to take a break and check Woot during those times. I faithfully stay up all night, watching the items come and go...even though I know the guppy will come about an hour or so after I go to work. I know very few people are able to get a bag, but it is depressing to not even get the chance to try.
Please just try changing it up. Put it at 2 am, 12 noon, anything. Always having it at the same time is predictable, boring, and frustrating.

Had it, lost it. My first it would have been. Really dissappointed in woot! for this. Anything but letting it show as a done deal I could have accepted. Makes me regret supporting them as much as I have. Woot! should make good to we who have been with them making woot! the success that it is.

It works for a number of folks...if they change it for you, then others miss it.

To all the wooters who won and then lost:
1.If you weren't charged for it then you never had it no matter what it showed in your account. Everyone's complaints might be a little more valid if they had all been charged and then credited.
2.Stop acting like Woot did something unethical here. They made a mistake. That is all. No conspiracy or evil intent.You lost get over it and stop trying to change the outcome of the game on some perceived technical foul.
3.You do realize you are ranting and raving over an $8.00 purchase that is only guaranteed to be c . r . a . p? Right? Do you?
4.The box of chorizo is SUPPOSED to be hard to get. Thats what makes it fun. Server errors and people getting wound up and complaining about it are part of the fun.
Don't give in to the whiners Woot you have a good thing going that doesn't need fixing.

I think that having it at the same time all the time is a bad plan...people don't have to watch all the items, just a few. And I think that it'd be nice to reward the loyal wooters by changing things up so those people willing to watch through all the items have a better chance at it, not just those who tune in at the seemingly preset time.

I got mine when it said a million for shipping and I didn't use a coupon code and it still gave it to me, so I don't know what the problem is. It didn't kick me back to the main page or anything it all went smoothly.

I was also one of the people that had it and lost it. I would complain but if Woot decides to give the people who lost their box of chorizo it will probably contain 3 bags of Texas air.

So I figured I got in, but apparently it didn't get in, because it isn't showing up now. Not cool to get my hopes up like that. i was fortunate to get one of the bags of guppy. When everyone was getting their confirmations i had not gotten anything. when everyones bags started to disappear i ended up getting a confirmation email and it showed up in my account.

Sorry to those of you that are angry about the box of chorizo. Woot! made a mistake... thats all.

I was very excited as I thought I had finally won the box of chorizo, but after sitting and waiting for the order to process at the end of 35 minutes I was told that it was basically sold out and I was out of luck unless someone didn't have enough credit to cover $8... That's 35 minutes I sat at work after 5:00 waiting for it to process. It would have been much simplier if I had gotten the sold out message and I could have went on about my day.... Now I am just mad that I didn't get the box of chorizo I will also ever get back the time I wasted. I think my order should have been honored... I am sure there is plenty of stuff around that they could accomodate one more order. Hey how about a tv... I have a daughter leaving for college... Ok WOOT what do you say??? Don't I deserve something?????

So I wasn't the only one. For some reason, that makes it better. Woot, we're cool. Don't worry.

All i know is anyone STUPID enough to think 1 million in shipping was real deserved NOT to get their box of chorizo. I clicked order and got 5 dollar shipping on the confirm page, as you would expect.

Nonetheless, finally a box of chorizo.... third time is the charm i guess.

It's the same every wootoff, those who didn't get one cry and moan like they have had their right leg lopped off.

1. If you received a charge but aren't getting the product, I think its called money theft. Slightly different case, bit more serious. If you see the item in your account, I think it should be a good indicator that you have actually purchased the item. But, that could just be me. Random example - Newegg. You see it in your account before any charge has been finalized.

2. What do you say when you make a mistake? "Sorry" perhaps? Secondly, I think most people aren't demanding a BlOC. I think the general consensus is... What just happened? A simple explanation from Woot would suffice.

3. Its a desired item. Its like when consoles sellout at stores. Everyone has the cash, but the product is limited and price set. NOW! Say everyone got an box and as they're walking out the door, it vanishes. Now, we have a problem.

4. I agree they're suppose to be hard to get. But, giving a fair chance is important too. If they want to set it so that there's a 2nd stage of 9k people and set it as a lotto drawing style? Fine. I'm happy with that. But! I do want to know that it is how it is set up.

Nobody EVER got charged for an item they weren't receiving.

Woot always has the server crash and some people who get through get the "out of stock" deal or it doesn't show up on their purchase list, thats how it works.

People feel cheated for what has happened. AS THEY SHOULD. This is their place to vent. Their family doesn't care, their kids don't care, they need to get it out to someone.

I agree for the most part. I was upset and irritated b/c I felt a little cheated. They are hard to get and that's part of the fun but the other part of the fun is knowing that you actually have a chance to get it.

When I keep telling myself, "wow, almost had it that time. Maybe next time will be yours," so often I feel like I'm starting to meet the definition of crazy. Same outcome every time, why do I keep trying?

So yeah, I like the hunt but there has to be a pay off eventually. And I don't want a pay-off b/c I whine about being cheated, I just want to know what happened and if I can actually have a reasonable chance to get it next time.

Um....duh. That's not even the issue. Nobody actually believes Woot would charge somebody a million dollars for shipping, but other than that it was real in that the system would run a credit check and reject the order, because nobody has a million dollar credit limit.

I agree it was an error and Woot is not responsible for everything, but being told you won and then finding out you lost is what is bringing this feeling on.

woot great job on the new catch for bots and just making it more random for everyone. Its no longer who is quickest but who is in at the right random time.

Thank you WOOT! Got my 3rd Carpinator! Mine had the million shipping fee to, but I continued on with purchase regardless. Knowing how woot is... figured is was something put there as a joke of some sort. Order completed and total ending up being 8 bucks. I have lost many, many tries at random guppy. And I'm ok with that. I hope all this talk in these forums don't lead to the end of what most of us love....woot offs & bags of guppy. All this talk about petitions and complaining about losing is getting out of hand. Long live the WOOT OFFS!!!!! and now....the count down until delivery.
