Hey Craig Ferguson was playing with two of these monkeys at the beginning of the show tonight. (even said Woot on the cape).

We left coasters just saw the Woot! Screaming Monkeys on Craig F's show.

I'm working on controlling those nifty woot-off lights using some software and an Arduino microcontroller.

You can see the full breakdown on my blog here ( http://brettinman.com/2009/05/16/intelligent-control-of-woot-off-lights/ ), but the gist of it is (eventually) a C program to monitor a woot tracker for wootoffs which then communicates a variable to the Arduino. The Arduino then controls the lights through a ULN2803 chip (to switch the connection to ground) and Voila, lights on and off. Right now I just have the hardware and basic serial communication running, as you can see in the post, and my code-monkey roommate is working on the C program to check WootOff status.

Well I got two things, the hibachi grill and the lights and monkey, this is my first woot off, just wish I didn't have dial up...

Darn-it... After 2 days I rolled-off the wootoff at about 8 last night and MISSED this

After two years and 13 wootoffs, I finally got my missile launcher & bacon salt... I'm now 0-7 on Bandoleers with my 'Vapor-Bandoller' (Was pissed, but I will live) and STILL NO WootMonkey or WootLights.

Perhaps NEXT wootoff! :D

Haha, finally I get the monkey and the lights! Barely missed the box of chorizo.

I swear the second I stop watching, they always put one of these up. :-(

Yes it may be the second Friday, but it seems that the past few box of chorizo's all came around 5pm --I agree they need to mix it up and be, oh I don't know, hmm, lets say-RANDOM!!!

Monkey shipped on 5/20. Tracking says a week to get here, must be on a slow boat from Texas...

Got my monkey and lights today. The monkey is a screamer.

Got the three of mine. Tracking said delivery was due for Tuesday, so I was quite happy when I saw the woot box out front this morning

Got my delivery. One of the lights doesn't spin.

Got my lights and monkey today. Cape is orange, but not just plain orange, it's kinda tie dyed. It looks neat. Both lights work!

Make sure you turn them both on. Each one has a switch on the front.

Had that problem with mine a few months ago, just had to take them apart and adjust them a little. Very easy, three small screws on bottom. Good luck!

Actually, it started working, I had used the velcro to attach it to the bottom of a shelf and it fell off (maybe a 4 inch drop) and started working. I guess it just needed a little knock to loosen things up.

One of mine lights and spins, and the other just looks kind of pathetic.

I've emailed Customer Service, because I can't stand feeling like my computer's not fully committed to wooting.
