I can't find a phone # for philips. Does anyone know a # for philips?

1-888-PHILIPS

You shouldn't have to pay to get someone on the line...I didn't when I called the number and the staff was rather quick to ask how they could help.

I got my TV...the box was pretty hosed, but the TV was great! There's a few surface scratches on the outside, but I think they might buff out. I've tried everything with the TV, and it's all GREAT!

We just got ours today and we were worried with all the things that have been going wrong with everyone else, but the box wasn't damaged real bad, there weren't any scratches on the frame of the TV, it all looks great! We just can't wait to get HD and then it will be that much better!

does anyone have any ideas for buffing out the scratches on the black frame of the tv? I don't really want to try and go through all the trouble of getting it replaced bc everything else seems to work as promised. Any ideas on the scuffs???

got mine today too, surface scratches on the bezel, picture looks fine - going in my bedroom anyway so scratches not that big of a deal

I believe you can use plastic polish (the kind that they normally use on cars) to remove the scratches and minor scuffs, but I'm not certain.

Got mine today, too. It's in great shape, but the remote won't work -- tried 3 different sets of batteries. I will call Philips tomorrow.

Is there any way (besides buying an expensive universal remote) to get past the initial screen while waiting for Philips to send me a new remote? I've tried all the universal remotes in the house, including the Comcast one, but can only get them to turn the TV off and on.

Received my TV today as well! I couldn't wait to get home from work and set it up. Fortunately for me everything looked perfect and is working perfectly. You guys had me worried with the way some of your TV's arrived. I'm very happy with this purchase!!! I only wish I had waited and bought the 47". Overall, I couldn't be more happy!

Got mine today also, besides some blemishes its in perfect working order, the remote and cord were inside one of the packaging corners made of cardboard, make sure to look for them there. Have connected my hd cable box working great and the consoles also no complaints as of yet.

Make sure you test the TV before hanging etc. Just spent $400 to get corner mount and TV installed. My installer, turned TV on and can't get past first screen. Called Phillips, they indicate eithter the tv or remote is fault. Will send me a new remote in about a week, then if that doesn't work they say its the TV. I am Not a happy camper.

To know if the remote is working or not, get a digital camera, point the remote at the camera lens and look through the viewer LCD (or take pictures) of the remote's LED as you press any buttons on the remote. If you see flashing lights in the camera LCD or pictures then the remote is working, if not, then the remote is bad.

looks like i got a tv that never actually got refurbished. plugged it in, turned it on, and cant get past the setup screen because the transmitter thing in the tv isnt working. the remote works, i know its sending out a signal, but the tv isnt processing it. thats what the philips guy said on the phone. they make you call a local repair shop and theyre supposed to be sending a guy out in the next few days.

Just a quick update: Mine indeed had warranty card AND manual, remote (no batteries!), and power cable, and a perfect-condition TV that works flawlessly. Very cool, very happy.

Woot just emailed my tracking info today. It left Irving, TX FedEx on the 10th, and is still in transit to central NJ on the 15th. This truck is taking the scenic route!

got my TV. Sound don't work. Call Philips and they hook up with a tech near my home. I don't know what will happen from here. Not worth for all these hazzels.

Just called Philips on the "scuff" marks that surround the screen and they said I will need to deal with Woot on that since it's a cosmetic issue and not a mechanical one.
So Woot, what are you going to do about it?

The fedex tracking number finally showed up on my receipt page (which is a little odd, with most places the numbers show up before the box is even packed) and it was indeed shipped within the promised 5 days... and apparently got a "shipment exception" "Damaged, handling per shipper instructions" 2 days after that. (I'm glad it got caught in-system so *I* don't have to deal with it :-)

The packaging is just pathetic. No foam, no silicone, no padding. Just 4 pieces of folded cardboard holding the tv inside the box. The box doesn't even have any hand slots so the delivery people can't get a good grip on it. I'm not surprised some of these were damaged on route.

Well, I got the tracking number now, and my tv should be attempting to be delivered today.

Here's whats really scary about these though. There were only 458 sold, and look at how many people have posted about broken ones... that's pretty ridiculous.

Anyone think I should open it before signing and letting the delivery guy leave?

Wowzers. Aint that the truth...

Someone else in my office signed for this, I never would have accepted it in this condition.

I plugged it in and it works, for now. I use an external audio system so I haven't heard any of the buzzing people are reporting, and remarkably my remote control came out intact.

I'm glad this bugger has a warranty.

Got it . . . finally. Seems to go on but with a bad remote, I'm stuck looking at the setup screen. Looks like I'm calling Philips support.

So close, yet so far!

Update:

If you tv is damaged you can follow these steps:

Contact Fed Ex and open a damage claim. Get the claim # from the rep along with a tracking #. They will pick up the tv next day and do a inspection of the damage.

Email woot with that information

Since no more tvs are available, they should issue you a refund.

Called 1-888-PHILIPS and got through to tech support easily. After running through all the details including serial numbers and doing the digital camera / remote trick, the tech service guy provided a number for a local tv repair shop. That shop will order the part and send out a repair tech in several days . . . still waiting for HDTV: should've bought retail at a brick and mortar store.

I got the knock and run from the Fed Ex guy the other day and was kinda mad when I woke up and saw the "sorry we missed you" tag on my door, but I drove out to the shipping hub and picked it up a few hours later. I agree with you guys on how horrible the packing was, when they brought it out on the cart even the lady that had me sign for it said "wow, thats a nice hole" after seeing the destroyed box. We opened it right there and checked it out, a few scuffs but nothing serious. I got it home and set up and am in love. Ive never had HD before so playing COD4 or watching upconverted dvds on the PS3 (havent invested in bluray movies yet)is amazing. The only bad thing for me is having crappy basic cable and how bad it looks lol...oh well, ill have to take care of that another day. I also invested in the 2 year square trade warranty today. I used the coupon code SUMMER and got 20% off. Sorry to all of you that got broken ones :-/

Yeah I gotta say that I was worried before I got it. With all the stories of broken stuff, I didn't want mine to be among those.

No one was around when the Fedex guy showed up, so I went to the hub last night and picked it up myself. Turns out fitting a 42" tv in a mustang is a little harder than I thought. We got it in eventually though.

Got it home and it works like a charm. Unfortunately the Fios cable box is currently incompatible with this tv with HDMI... guess I'm waiting for a patch in August now. Runs great off of component cables though.

Tried all the HDMI ports and they work fine with my ps3 and dvd player. I was getting some weird sound distortion at the end of the night last night, but I don't know if that's a bug with Fallout 3 or not. It requires additional testing ;)

This is correct, but it's important to note that this is ONLY for those damaged in transit. If your TV arrives lacking accessories or something obviously not the fault of the carrier, please contact Philips at 1-888-PHILIPS. It's always best to clear it through the Woot-ployees first, feel free to shoot us an email service@woot.com.

I got my tv on Tuesday - as scheduled - I had to call FedEx to get my tracking info. I was waiting a couple of days to make sure that everything was working - and I feel bad for those who had issues with their tv's, but mine is in perfect condition - with the remote, manual and cords all inside a sealed bag. The box was in perfect condition. I hooked up the HD cable box and XBOX and it looks awesome. Even though I was stressed the days before receiving my tv, I'm happy to say that I'm a happy wooter. Sorry about all the other ones that didn't turn out so well.

I've seen PCs hook up to TVs before but the text always seem blurred or stretched.
I hooked this TV up to my PC and turn on the PC mode (from the TV’s Function menu) and I could not believe how clear the image and text was! It looks just as good as it does on my PC monitor only much bigger!

Apparently min left the origin facility in Ft. Worth 9 days ago and hasn't made it the 200 miles to my house. Perhaps they're making woot staff carry them by hand.
