I've just never even had a chance at a baby of the cosmos and thought this might be my only chance, seeing as how I don't stay up till midnight to see the next woot. I thought it was worth a shot, but I think it was my last shot. The other things I've bought off woot have been pretty crappy quality as well. I do enjoy the woot shirts though. I'll probably stick with them.

Wait, I thought you were done. Please take your woe is me to ebay, where you can be a winner.

Mine's sitting in a Milwaukee suburb waiting to get to me in another Milwaukee suburb estimated for 22 July. They bumped it up a day. Technically, I could drive to the other suburb and be there in 15 min.

Woot is not about the stuff you get, yes most of it is scaffolding or refurbished scaffolding. It's about the wonder of what's next every day.

What Woot has given us for 5 years is the sense of wonder you got every Xmas eve when you were a kid. All of us big kids, sitting at our computers bleary eyed hitting F5 at 11:59pm. Knowing it will be scaffolding we don't need but we have to find out anyway.

The baby of the cosmos is simply a sensory overload for us. We spent $8 bucks that our wives or girlfriends are saying we threw away for nothing and we get to sit around for days hitting F5 to see what everyone else got. Then we get a box with 3 dvd's and a set of woot lights and we are disappointed until the next 11:59pm rolls around.

This is why I love Woot, don't let the door hit you in your baby of the cosmos on the way out.

Well, my order arrived today, and it did get crapped upon. Quite a bounty this time around, here's a pic and description.

  • One set of woot-off lights (ordered)
  • One Supergirl 4-ever tin
  • Four Damned Yankees calendars
  • One GPS windshield mount, sans GPS
  • One unidentifiable and damaged wall-wart transformer
  • One digital photo frame
  • One black zipper bag (There's the bag part I guess...)
  • Two "Anolon" knives. (Nice)
  • One filtering water bottle
  • One small speaker for iPods or other devices
  • Two stick-on touch powered LED light sets
  • Six assorted cell phone holsters

I'm sure I'll give away half of it by the end of the week, but it sure was fun wondering what I would get!

That was probably me you are thinking of, I think it is only because we have a daily delivery from FedEx at my office, as well as a daily pick up, we ship that much in and out from our warehouse.

I used to work delivery for another company who had a similar smartpost delivery style, often times I would be delivering 10 packages to a house, and then in the same town be dropping off 5 packages to the post office that were ultimately going to end up at the same house. I just delivered them directly to the house instead and skipped the middleman of the USPS.

maroselis wrote:But then again... someone previously said that Fedex delivered his last Boggy Old Creature to him directly at work.

Expected delivery was tomorrow. Arrived today (in DFW).

Got:

Lights
1 DVD Superbad
1 DVD Team America
1 DVD Blades of Glory

absolutely nothing else.
Would have been nice to get just one decent item.
2 DVDs are going straight in the trash, the other will probably be watched and then trash (Blades of Glory).

Hope you are not a 1.7lbs 8x8x8 #1 that ordered around 2 or 3pm that fatefull Sunday.
You're probably in the same boat.

- Dissappointed, but still interested in trying again someday.

Superbad is a great movie. At-least sale them online for a few bucks.
