Thats kind of the point of the forums...so that people who have used/own the product can speak to its quality, relative price, or other interesting input. Unless you think that anyone who knows more than you is an expert, I wouldn't complain.

No experience with the sonic, but I did buy the Oral B "spin" brush once, and it was total junk in my opinion. The charge ran out very quickly. It pretty much had to be charged in between every use. Of course, since it's a different model, that experience probably isn't relevant.

Right now I'm using a disposable battery powered sonic brush by Colgate that sells for like 4 to 5 dollars, and it's super good. Not rechargeable, but the same battery has lasted me straight through one whole brush use (around 6 months or so), and so far a few months into my second brush after I replaced it.

Directly from the I want one link (the buy page),

You want one
I want 3 I want 2
Oral-B Vitality Sonic Rechargeable Toothbrush and Replacement Heads - 2 Pack

You want 2 Braun S12513 Oral-B Vitality Sonic Rechargeable Toothbrush(s).

You want 2 Braun SRS18-2 Oral-B Vitality Replacement Brushes - 2 Pack(s).

Clearly, its says 2 of each. Either your eyes or your internet is broken. Fix both, just in case.

Well I bought one. I've been using a manual brush for awhile now without no problems, lets hope I made a good investment.

Just did'nt want to be disappointed when in 2 weeks I open my Woot box and see one brush and one set of spares and email the Wootster geru and he says it says on the buy page 1 brush and 1 two pack of spares and cry that on the what's in the box page it says two of everything and if I don't like it I can send it back $10 shipping (my nickel) sorry for the mixup but it's only for 1 of everything.

About how many uses does a typical toothbrush head last? About the two-for-Tuesday, I got the same slight discrepancy, multiples of 2 on one page, and 1, 2, or 3 on the final page, so thinking I'm the only one who can't figure it out, I wrote to the service Email address. Maybe it's my goof? Or maybe not.

a question (sorry i'm new, so this may sound stupid). what is in the packaging of a woot shipment? I ask because I was considering sending these as gifts, but I don't want to send directly if there's a receipt with prices and other woot advertising in the box. Thanks.

the oral-b professionalcare 7400 (ebay) is the best there is for the buck. i think i paid $24 shipped for a new unit with 2 heads. i've tried them all and this one is just as good as the newer more expensive $129 professionalcare and man does it work out your mouth.

after using a sonicare; the 7400 made my gums hurt for a week. don't cheap out on your toothbursh mates.

I just replace the whole unit since @ 24 a pop you get a new battery (part of the problem is loss of power after 6 months) and all fresh new unit.

hope this sale isn't a unit thats like 2 years old you know how rechargable batteries sit dead

My packages have always come with the product I ordered, packaged air and sometimes an insert sample of Axe fragrance. The label on the outside of the box states what is inside but does'nt list a price.

Awesome - thanks. So it sounds like it'd be okay to send as a gift as there is no price info or anything too stupid in the box.

Vitality (non-Sonic) is a great toothbrush that my son has used for over a year, but Vitality SONIC is awful!! The non-Sonic physically spins the bristles back and forth while the Sonic only lightly vibrates the head. It doesn't come close to the performance of my Sonicare! I was able to get a refund from Oral-B in the form of a gift certificate in order to purchase the non-Sonic. Finally Sonic toothbrush heads are hard to find. You should avoid this one!

So how long do these take to charge? We only have one set of outlets by the sinks, and they're dominated by She Who Spends Way Too Much Time In The Bathroom As It Is. The constant use of hair appliances may not allow enough recharge time.

I don't think woot ever sends receipts with their items, except for more expensive electronics and the kind. The only thing I ever recall them sending me a receipt with was when I bought a TV from them and I think that might have been drop-shipped from the manufacturer.

I would say they take 12 hours or so to charge, but don't quote me on that. The best thing to do is plug it in somewhere else where you can leave it charging. Just make sure you aren't leaving it on a wood surface or if you are, put something underneath it to catch any excess water.

This is the same brand and model that the orthodontist "gave" (at $45) to my teenager.

It works well even with braces.

I have two of these toothbrushes. I liked the one at home so much that I bought one for the beach condo. They work really well. You have to replace the brush heads every three months or so or they lose their effectiveness very quickly. I can never tell that it's time to change the brush by the appearance or feel of the brush. I could not find replacement brush heads at Wally world a couple of months ago. I bought them on ebay. I'm in for one!

don't know if anyone posted this but...

those "extra-soft" bristles look completely frayed and cheap, like some asian knockoff. they are absolutely nothing like the ones shown on the official site (woot's vs oralb.com). for what it's worth, i don't know of any oralb head with white outer bristles.

shenanigans?

The rechargeable batteries are the big one but the replaceable brush heads are the most important. I have the brush and it is excellent.

I just woke up, checked in at woot and bought these. Was it an impulse buy because I had not brushed my teeth as yet? Did I go shopping when I was hungry? Will my top and bottom teeth be happy if I use a separate head for each row? Can I get fries with that? Should I.....

At only 20k brush strokes per minute, this shouldn't work. To be a sonic toothbrush, it has to exceed 30k brush strokes per minute to be effective - like the higher end (READ: EXPENSIVE) models. The whole idea is to use vibration from the toothbrush head to agitate the fluid surrounding your teeth to dislodge plaque. The lower the speed, the less effective it is at removing plaque.
Will it clean your teeth? Sure. It's a toothbrush after all, but you're paying a premium for a higher technology that this model simply doesn't support.

Bought 2 of these for gifts last year - they work fine. One charge lasts about a month for average brushing time. The replaceable heads last 3-4 months.

We just charge it for 24 hours once a month or so at any outlet and use an old fashioned manual toothbrush that day. Keeping it on the charger all the time is pulling electricity - think frugally green!

Naveronski wrote:I've heard these have issues with the battery not holding a charge? Any info about that?

I've always had trouble with the more expensive rechargeable toothbrushes keeping a charge. I've tried 4 different ones over the years (2 Braun, 2 Sonicare); they never work for long and wind up being landfill-fill. For the past 4 years, we used Crest spin brushes--with our own rechargeable batteries. This year we switched to Oral-B because it takes only 1 AAA battery.
