This is a great offering woot, considering the green initiative that everyone is taking.

I have this exact model and find the results from it a little underwhelming.

Edit: Just to elaborate a bit more...

After about a week of use, the peddle on it had stopped working. Though this was fixed by rigging up my own mechanism, basically drilled a hole through the peddle and one in the lid, along with a hook under my cabinet, then fed some heavy duty string type stuff through each piece.

Also, it seems to take longer than was advertised to complete the composting process. The advertised time is 2 weeks, it takes about 3 for mine, and I'm using it as directed. Not that big of a deal really, as long as you don't need the stuff that quick.

Almost bought this, I thought it was $24.99

At first glance it looks like a very ugly computer case.

Can I use this to compost my c*ap?

Does it smell? I mean it probably doesn't.. do ppl really keep these things inside their houses? Are we so lazy we can't walk out to the compost pile to throw away our trash? Here son.. go put this in our NatureMill Indoor PRO Edition Composter...

(do we get in indoor garden next?)

Actually I thought that as well, I sorta got excited.. A COMPUTER! (i thought). And then i realize it was kinda fuzzy...

I was actually looking at these because I wanted to start growing wheatgrass and making wheatgrass shots. Anyone have any feedback on how good these are?

No, but you can make a great casserole.

I really waited up for a composter. With this headache that I have I could have been sleeping a long time ago instead of wating for a $250 composter. Ugh

Compost piles also require turning and other maintenance. Plus, apartments.

Is this a special Bill Gates/Martha Stewart edition of Woot? $250 for compost....my grandmother just piled the stuff in the backyard behind the garage, no container.

I'd imagine the fact that the Arm and Hammer baking soda is included is a bad sign. Maybe the side deal should have been nose plugs?

Now, if I could get the indoor cats to use the composter without having the additional step of using the litter box and having to clean that doggone (what an appropriate term) thing out, then I'd buy three to put in various spots throughout my house. Maybe the cats would just 'accidentally' fall in...

Well I just looked at the web site for my local greenhouse. It costs 10 dollars for a bag of compost that would do me for approximately 3 months. So 40 dollars a year to just buy someone else's compost.

In other words, I'd have to have this thing for SIX YEARS before it paid for itself. And since the filter only lasts 5 years (and is probably expensive) that means my ROI on this would be basically nil at the time I hit my mid-life crisis.

It's ironic that, in efforts to go green, we must use a machine that was:

a) manufactured in some factory which no doubt emitted some sort of byproduct into the ecosystem around it
b) took energy to produce
c) will consume energy on a daily basis

How quickly does htis break material down? Is there a way to speed it up?

Saw one of these on the Wa$ted TV show from the green channel.

After using it for a few days, the home owner finally had to take it outside because it stunk so bad.

Funny...I just looked at the map of where wooters are from who are buying this and they're all from California so far. I just read something where it said that CA is going to MANDATE composting. Something like this composter might be just the thing for people resigned to having to live there.
