stardust wrote:The 530 series is probably not very good.

Great advice from somebody that obviously has no clue or experience with this model. The 530 works great! The early models...before the 500 series were the models that gave Roomba a bad rap. This will be my second 530. The other one was getting lonely and I was getting tired of carrying it upstairs. Works great, even with my Siberian Husky's hair.

Good luck getting one of these in a Woot-Off if in fact there is one before the end of the month. I seriously doubt there will be any since this one just sold out nearly 4800 copies. Specially if it is just a day or two later. There wasn't a single Roomba in the last Woot-Off. There were only 14 including some 400 series bots in Woot-Off before that. The last time Woot had a Roomba was on 6/29/09 and that sold out as well. Actually, they almost always seem to sell out. Most Wooters seem to know a good product when they see one.

Wow, 100 more units sold then the last time and sold out in under 5 and a half hours sooner then the last time!

It's 5 o'clock somewhere.

4800 refurbs? Doesn't that seem unlikely? I think some/all of these are just old stock.

Let's see what people say when these start rolling in.

After sitting on the fence about buying this Roomba all day, I was shoved on to the buy side by the "Last Call" Twitter message and bought it. I figure it will be ideal for the studio apartment I live in during my work week.

I have not read up on this yet, but if I were to buy the Square Trade 1 year extended warranty, would it kick in after the 90 day iRobot warranty giving me 15 months of warranty?

Just a heads-up!

Our Roombas are starting to ship!

Shipping info was sent to FedEx on mine last night, and it showed up today on 'track by reference' site.

Go here:
https://www.fedex.com/AltRefTracking?cntry_code=us

Enter your order number in a big reference box, then select United States (if that's where you shipping) from drop down and enter your zip code to see if yours has shipped!

Are you talking about status on Woot page, or FedEx? Mine is in transit at the moment, but WOOT is being quiet, it usually takes them a few days to update status and send notification.

Check up my post above for instructions on how to track by reference, and perhaps FedEx will give you the more updated information.

Thanks for the heads up on the roombas shipping. Mine says 9/2 I should get it. Maybe 9/1 since I always receive my woots a day early. Maybe not since it's not smartpost, is it?

Thanks for the heads up on tracking by reference. Est. delivery for my Roomba is, believe it or not, 8/29. That's freaking today! It might beat the flashlight I ordered from Woot! on 8/19!

I don't believe it to be, but the last one i had was an older model. They do have a filtration system that as long as you replace every 3mo works well. I would rinse my filters to extend the life a few months and that seemed to work okay. Roomba's are more for in-between cleanings, you'll still want an upright for the deep down dirt and alergens.

My Roomba just arrived via FedEx. It beat the flashlight I ordered on the 19th. Unboxing it now and will have photos later.

Well, that didn't take long. It pretty much comes ready to go.

The box arrived in good shape.

Two inner boxes.

This is everything in the boxes.

Being a software developer, I found this a little exciting. The EULA was pretty straight forward.

Initial charging. The battery must have been mostly charged since it did not go into the 16hr refresh charge mode. After pulling the battery tab and placing it in the dock, the Roomba's clean button turned green within an hour.

My dogs took it in stride. Actually pretty quiet.

Very cool technology. Very cool price!

I just received my Roomba...plugged it in, and after a few minutes, the clean button started blinking red. I had no idea what was going on and thought I got a dud, but I opened it up and took out the battery and replaced it.

Somehow, this worked. It's charging now...I guess the battery can be dislodged easily? Anybody have any experience with this?

Did you pull out the yellow battery tab? They ship it with a yellow plastic in the way of the contacts so that it will not turn on in shipping. If you put Roomba in the base wihtout a battery it will give a red light.

I got it yesterday. My wife thought it would not work as it was not new and was recertified. After it charged we ran it and she loves it. When you empty it after it is amazing how much dust and dirt it picks up. The only down side is you have to clean it out after ever use.

Got mine yesterday!

It keeps going around in a small circle and then giving me a bumper stuck error though (9 beeps). Any one ever have this problem? Any suggestions on fixing it?

Bumper is not stuck in and appears fine, any way to open it up and check the sensors?

On the bright side, for the 1 minute intervals it works before giving the error, i do get a very clean square foot of carpet.
