I know some of you have this wireless keyboard setup. Is it worth having? What are the good qualities, or the bad, in your experience?

ive owned one for over a year, and have had MAJOR problems with it, often when i reboot CERTAIN KEYS stop working, and my CAPS LOCK has been dead for about 8 months, the wireless mouse ate batteries like a kid in a candy store, so i switched back to an old mouse

the price is AWESOME, but with my problems id un-reccommend it, logitech never was able to awnser any questions to help me solve my problems, and due to loss of receipt ive been stuck with a doody keyboard for a year, but its great for writing essays in bed

I own this very wireless desktop and i recomend not buying it. It eats through batteries and it doesn't stay connected very well. Not to mention the mouse is too small and light. Since the wireless reciever is on a cable it kind of makes this being wireless pointless because you still have the wires everywhere.

Just like the one I've been using for a couple of years. Both eagerly eat AA batts, too bad I can't turn 'em off when I'm away. (Drained my rechargeables like crazy!)

That being said, think I'll get one for the office.

Discussion on the pros & cons please. I need a new wireless keyboard but also need durbility. Yeah at this price they are practically disposable - but who wants to hassle with that. Is this one worth it or will I kill it in a month?

I'll take a few of those... resell... back ups... never know when you need another mouse and keyboard... especially at that price. I have wireless desktop by microsoft and the mouse died pretty quickly due to a soup spill... woops.. :-) so now i have the logitech media mouse, which i LOVE! but my orders are placed :-)

Woot! Whatever happened to the remote controlled dinosaurs? I need one for Christmas. Not one of these refurbshed cordless keyboards. I'm already using a cordless keyboard that REALLY is cordless. It's called a USB receiver...no cords. This thing has a cord, just not connected to the keyboard. Hmmm false advertising? Misnomer? Useless Woot!? Tune in tomorrow.

Does anyone else remember a few years back when logitech gave away a few thousand of these for free?

I'm still using the original batteries that came with the keyboard. I've upgraded the mouse to an MX1000 however. This is worth the money just for the wireless keyboard (if you're looking for one that is)

Batteries will last about 2-3 months depending on usage. My BT wireless KB lasted 6 months.

When we lack wires, some other means are utilized to allow the computer to communicate with the keyboard and mouse. Simply put, Magic!

hmmmmmmm - I bet they don't last - this is a GOOD BUY if you ask me.

I have one already but since I have 2 other desktop systems at home I might just get a couple more. The batteries last a long time on these and they have very decent range.

I think I paid $45 or $50 for mine from newegg a few years ago and have since moved mine to my latest PC - used to play Half Life using it as well with very good results.

A couple of notes since I have seen some Q's

This is an RF device - not IR - no line of sight needed.

Note that the KB connector is a PS2 type - newer computers are coming without PSs connectors (USB Keyboards).

I think the KB takes 4 AA batteries and the mouse takes 2 AA's - they will last a minimum of a couple of months (I think mine usually last 6 months but I don't use the system every day).
