Mine said the same thing and the estimated date was 14th but was received today.

Weird now my delivery date changed and all fed ex says is that the package has arrived and departed Dallas 8 times lol. I guess the pigeon it's strapped to is just circling the dfw area lol.

Edit: I lied. It uses a different chip, but the same module. The good news is that you don't need to follow the instructions on my blog. The bad news is that you need this firmware (http://steventoth.net/linux/hvr1400/xc3028L-v36.fw).

If you have a recent (2.6.27 or newer) kernel, it should work as soon as you install the firmware. I'll write up some more detailed instructions soon and post them. If you want me to let you know when they're ready, send me a PM.

Well the answer is yes and no. In theory you could do this but it would depend on your cable provider and understand you can't get rid of cable because you will only receive very, very limited station over the air. You can, however get rid of the Cable box, but understand this is analog so if you want to record digital shows, probably not going to happen. Also some cable provider(Comcast)encrypt their signal so you also may not get all of your analog channels either. Sorry to break the news, this is good if there are basic shows you would like to see but trust me the Cable companies are way ahead of you when it comes to their money!

Yes, it will say no, manually configure, and there will be a few options, but yes the one you want is ATSC Digital, not analog, cable, digital cable or QAM

I have it set to digital, and i tried scanning for channels and just didnt get any. Ive tried for channels a few times and also restarted my comp a few times. I have a dell laptop... idk what is needed as far as specs for my laptop, but it installed everything just fine :S

Did your tracking info say that FedEx's last stop before they handed off to USPS was Brooklyn Park, MN?

I live in Minnesota as well (15 minutes from the Brooklyn Park handling facility).

Of course, FedEx denies any knowledge of the tracking number or reference number so I have no information on the whereabouts of my package.

Silly Woot! Package finally arrived to my home in Dallas (Fedex-->USPS). Inside the box were two bags of air, the tuner box, an AXE Instinct sample fragrance sheet, and ONE packaging peanut. I haven't even checked if the thing works, but I think I got my Money's worth.

Got mine today! I live in Louisiana.

i loaded all the software......but when i click on tv, it tells me "no tuner device" has anybody else ran into this problem? or know how to remedy this problem?

Just tried it out with Windows Media Center on Vista and works flawlessly, had to add sub-channels myself but that was easy. Yes, you can control Media Center with the remote provided. Excellent quality reception, 5 stars.

Although I haven't been able to get any signal from the antenna, I am able to get the composite input working.

AND WITH AMCAP, GAMES WORK WITHOUT ANY NOTICEABLE LAG.

The video quality could certainly be better though.

Ok, purchased early in the morning of Nov 4, charged to my bank account Nov 5, arrived at Fedex Nov 10 In Dallas Texas (Just a few miles from Woot's warehouse in the next city over), departed Fedex location in Dallas Nov 12, shipment info sent to USPS from Fort Worth Nov 12. What the heck is this?!! I work withing 10 miles from the warehouse and live within 25 miles and still have not received my purchase which cleared my bank a week ago. I read the posts patiently explaining the problems with posting the tracking info and haven't said anything but this is getting to be rediculous. Is it possible to pick up purchases in the future? It's not that I am trying to get out of the $5 shipping charge. Really????? I mean Really??? This will be something that I have to consider in future purchases. It has never taken this long to receive my purchases in the past. It was not in the mail box today and I am beginning to doubt if I will ever receive it. Really, can I pick up any future purchases??? You can still have the $5.

Haha I got mine! The fedex thing said the 16th... but it was here when I got home! So I was trying to use it in windows media center, and I'm on windows 7 pro, and when it got to the part where it is downloading latest tv setup it never progresses, so you just run this
"c:\windows\ehome\mcupdate.exe" and it will download everthing, do this while windows media center is still at that screen stuck, just minimize it ;)

to the people that have it and have it work for them... are you using it upstairs or downstairs? Also, do you have a antenna on your house? Idk if that has to do with anything but i still cant get mine to work. Im using mine in my basement atm.

Mine works if I have the antenna base at a height of 4ft+ otherwise, reception is choppy. My house does have an antenna on the roof(been there before I bought it). Do you have any tall trees or structures around that could be interfering w/ the signal. Play around with antenna height a bit.

Officially got mine today!!! Even though my tracking # still shows in transit stuck in Dallas. Maybe I will get another.

Got mine today (California). Work fine with my 5 yrs old PC with win7(32Bit). The ATI software is not bad at all. Because I use rooftop antenna, the tv reception is crystal clear. Thanks WOOT!!

Hmm, i dont have a roof top signal. There arent many trees around my house at all and for structures, only have neighbors, nothin outragous. I have zero reception in my basement with this thing. and i have the antenna ontop of my desk with it fully extended (thats what she said)

I got mine today here in Tennessee. So far I haven't been able to pick up any channels what so ever. Digital I got nothing, analog I get just static.

Installed on 7 32-bit

Over the air analog/digital: nothing found.

Plugging in my unencrypted Time Warner Cable looks absolutely terrible, beyond worthless.

My Leadtek pvr2000 look 100X better, just not compatible with 7 or I'd be using it. Waste of $25 but I took the chance. 40% cpu usage, albeit on an old X2 3800 @ 2.8ghz but still!

ATI Media Center can't detect the card, only Windows Media Center.

Ok, so i finally got channels to appear. I went upstairs and sitting at the kitchen table i can get like 4 channels. Thing is, they suck. I cant get like 4,5,9,11 or whatever all the basic channels are. I get like a worship one, some kid channel (PBS) and like 2 other crappy ones... watching the films? 25 bucks for 4 channels? This is bull sheet.

Same, I got a local ABC channel, a worship channel, a couple of local BS, a Spanish channel and pbs.

Very cancellation. This is over the air digital. Over the air analog only has static.



Hopefully I can figure out how to get cbs, fox, and nbc, the reasons why I bought this thing.

This is weird. If I update the PG/channel guide, it lists quite a few that are over the air digital, but I'm only getting 8

Got mine delivered in New Orleans this afternoon. Works successfully with both the ATI application and Windows Media Center in Windows 7 64-bit - picks up all the locals that my other HD tuners pick up.

More significantly, I was surprised to find it works fine on my Lenovo S10e netbook. You can see it's straining, but with a strong signal, it's actually a pretty stable display. Well worth the $20+$5.

I tried to configure it through Windows Media Center. I got muuuch more channels, buuut no picture or sound. It told me what was on and all that and it was all accurate, but for whatever reason i could see or hear any of it. Any help? Idk what im doin wrong

Okay I'm ready for the ridicule.

Is anyone else having problems screwing in the antenna to the antenna base? The base of mine doesn't have threads, but only bands of metal, but the antenna portion has threads...have tried every way possible to get this thing on. Anyone else?

did you remove the red plug thing? ;)


edit: Anyone have recommendations for FREE software that i could use instead of catalyst media center or windows media center? hopefully ill get more channels
