So suggest that the wife make a phone apron or phone belt pouch instead. In for 2. I'm tired of paying $89 every time the guys at the shop drop a phone on the concrete floor for the 100th time and finally break it. With 5 handsets, maybe I'll have a fighting chance to not buy phones for awhile. And hopefully, these will have a further range than the 5.8 ghz models which we currently have.
This is what back pockets are for. Just don't sit down or else you might make a phone call!

They seem fine. I have the same ones. we bought a three pack at Costco for very close to what is offered here. They are decent enough though I can't figure out how to turn off the ringer since I don't want one of the three ringing. I might have to consult an 11 year old for that function. Also for what its worth, we have no trouble going all the way into the back yard even though the base station is in front of the house. Happy wooting
Does anyone know if you can be on more than one handset at a time?
snipe523 wrote:I switched a few months ago from a Panasonic set to this same set but with 3 handsets instead of the 5 here. I actually like these better than the Panasonics. I seem to get a slightly better range from the vtech set, and the sound is actually more clear than I got from the Panasonic set.
Thank you, I'm in for 1
Will never buy a VTech phone again -- Had lots of problems with our set.
In for one. (But getting 5) Delicious.....
splitk wrote:I just received my bag of carp and they gave me about 40 batteries for these phones. IDK why, but if you are missing a back to your when you receive it or you just want backup batteries I have 40 extra batteries I won't be using ever. I guess this messgae goes out to anyone who bought these phones. All you have to do is pay shipping and tell me how many batteries you want. PM me
How does one contact you?
I wonder what the EMF output is on these LCDs
Did not need or buy this item, but have had VTech phones before and never had a problem. This looks like a great deal for those who bought it; definitely a great price. Hell, five batteries would cost this much.

yes but sometimes they offer it for free. just depends
Too late for me (sold out), but I just saw a similar package at Sam's for $99.00. Maybe next time.
I bought v tech phones a couple of months ago at a store and just had to buy some new phones because the v tech died. They weren't abused, used to much, or anything. Right from the beginning there was a humm on the phone. I highly do NOT recommend!!
Did anyone else get a woot-off tweet from twitter? I don't see anything up...
OMG!!! A woot-off at kids.woot.com
self delete.
I've never gotten a b-a-g -o-f- -c-r-a-p- , I hope they have one tonight that I can get. I've struckout like five times
**Shipping Update** VTech DECT 6.0 5-Handset Cordless Phone w/ Digital Answering System has completely shipped via SmartPost (if quantity ordered is 1) and FEDEX Ground (if quantity ordered is 2-3). All tracking will be emailed by this aftenroon to members who purchased this item. If you would like to find your tracking information sooner, please click the following link and use your ORDER NUMBER as the reference number. FEDEX TRACKING
I ordered 1 and it still says it hasn't shipped, and I don't have any tracking info. Any idea what the status on my order is?

Same with me, but I ran my order number through the Fedex tracking website above and it says it's on the way.
Yup, and I didn't get the email telling me it shipped. Federal Express shows the package did, in fact, ship, so I'm puzzled, not worried.
I ordered this package and my order was confirmed and paid for by Paypal but the status has not changed yet to Shipped and I haven't received an e-mail confirmation of shipping or Tracking info. What's up?
I had the same problem. If you click the above link from the woot post to fedex and use your order # as the reference number, put your country and zip in, it'll tell you whtether it shipped.
Same comment here......... ordered, got confirmation of order email, no change on status on woot website or confirmation of shipping after 6 days. WHAT'S UP? This is my first woot order. What should be expected??
Just checked the Fedex tracking link like the guy in the post above said. It does show as shipped on the 17th, but the status on Woot hasn't changed yet.
OK people... if you didn't get your shipping confirmation on your VTech phone, see the 1st comment posted on Nov 17 (about 8 above this one). I didn't get confirmation either, so i checked the tracking. It said delivered, and i hadn't seen anything on my way in... weird. So i went back out to look, and it was there, so don't panic... looks like we'll all be getting them. Click the tracking list in the Nov 17 post then don't forget: 1. put your order # in the REFERENCE line 2. pick your country 3. put in your zip code
What an absolutely craptastic delivery system. I'm in Austin, Texas. Woot shipped this from Dallas to Houston. Dallas and Houston are both 3 hours away. Ship date shows 11/24. So it's going to take 11 days for me to get my order from Dallas, a city 3 hours away from me. Idiotic.
Its a bit weak that we have to come to forum post to get tracking updates. I didn't get an email or anything despite it having shipped out on 11/17. As a comparison I ordered something from Amazon that same day (11/13) was notified it shipped later that day, and it arrived 11/17. (free Super Saver too) Now comparing woot and amazon might be a bit of a leap. However the buying/shipping/online transaction is one that should come with status updates via email on order status. Its the quid pro quo of buying online. Edit: Email came today, 11/20 Edit 2: Phones arrived 11/23
no email about shipping. I used the "go to fedex and enter order number, country and zip code" method mentioned above, and found out that it is in North Carolina so I figure I should have it by Monday, but not getting an email about the shipping was disappointing. Woot is better than that. This is a big step down from Woot's usual. Next time they do something like this I will put Woot "on notice!" :-( In ESPN terms, "step your game up!"
rwzeitgeist wrote:Yup, and I didn't get the email telling me it shipped. Federal Express shows the package did, in fact, ship, so I'm puzzled, not worried.
Update: The package arrived yesterday, Nov 19, 2009, the date Federal Express' tracking said it would. Today I received an email from Woot notifying me that the order had been shipped, and providing the tracking number and link. The email message header showed the message was sent "20 Nov 2009 09:43:09 -0600", some 23 hours after the shipment arrived! I'm not impressed.
Smartpost is the WORST. If I'm ordering a $5 item I understand shipping that way. But a $60 item should have gone Ground. BTW, 11 days and counting to receive the LED flashlight I ordered, also via "Smart"post.
yes i purchased tese phones on11/13/09 and still havent got them yet i emailed them and they havent responded to me yet it only takes 5 bussiness days it says for delivery and still not here anyone else had a problem yet?thank you

Same here. This shipping is pretty rediculous. Every time I track my package, the estimated delivery date is pushed out another day. Now my phones are scheduled for delivery this Saturday, even though they are in Massachusetts and I live in Maine! Any other time my packages are in MA, I get them the next day. So they were shipped on 11/17 and should be here on 11/28. 11 days? Damn.
I love these phones! they work great! We use them as intercoms to call our teenagers.
Just installed these; 2 of the 5 handsets do not work...outgoing voice is kaput. Have sent an email to Woot Service address to see if they can help me get these handsets replaced. Anyone else had any issues with their units? Thanks
bought these (refurbisheduebished products.) and they stopped working 1 week later. didn't bother about a refund as too much of a hassle. Be careful with refurbishes!!!
