Why do people get put on probation for saying "first page" on the first page?? And why do they say it?? Is it just a way of getting their post out first? hmm

Great price. My wife used to sell these on Ebay. Now she refuses to sell any Audiovox product . Too many problems with these.

While this is nice, with the price of laptops these days, you can get one with a DVD drive for about $399. Not sure if this woot is really worth it.

But I guess if you want to save the $100 and don't need a laptop.. then this is up your alley.

i'm in college now, but in high school i was in musicals and plays all 4 years, heck i even co-directed the senior musical, and i wasn't offended by woot's one-liner. just a joke. i'm guessing this must be something similar to how President Clinton or President Bush feels when he sees himself parodied on SNL..."ha, ha, that IS sorta like me!" ...and i've sat through some snoozers, where i wouldn't have minded having this product to take my eyes off of the "performance" up on stage...i bet that 5-seat radius would have been pretty happy too

the reviews on the net for this unit look really really bad overall, everyone saying it will work for a few hours then freeze up. All reports of customer service look to be horrible. That really sucks cause this looks be a heck of a deal.

First of all II would like to give my condolances to "JTOC", the member who was put on suspension last night and cannot post for 6 more hours. WISH YOU WERE HERE MAN! But you just could not resist the urge to enjoy life and have a laugh. I can't believe how much we think alike.

YOUR PAL, JTOC2 !

With that said...

It's True...looks like a great deal...but the fact is I think it is junk. This is Audiovox - nobody will ever say "WOW, YOU GOT THE AUDIOVOX(not that it matters what anyone thinks), ...but when you find negative feedback on electronics as easily as this one (D1210), you should beware.

What kind of pointless woot is this?

I've got a V505EX that is also 12.1", plays DVDs, CDs, is thinner, lighter, and has a 4 hour battery.
Oh yeah, its also a full fledged notebook.

There is a difference between portable DVD players, and having to ducttape a TV screen to the back of yout seat. :/

Wow never seen so many peeps placed on probation during a single woot.

How about a seprate forum showing us what they said/did to get spanked? It's uh...so we don't...uh...make the same mistakes, yeah that's it! :-)

We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.

12"? That's pretty tiny for a 300 dollar DVD-TV. Not for me.

Just got one (popping my Woot! cherry): I thought it was a very good price considering how versatile it is. Wireless headphones included. Wife can watch her lame chick flick DVDs in bed while I can finally see all the extras on my LOTR collection. Kids can watch VeggiTales in the car with headphones. Houseguests can use it in the spare room to watch the news while we can preserve our nightly pr0n--I mean, Public Television viewing. Why buy a laptop to watch DVDs when you (1) can't see TV on it, and (b) have to pay more? I am one happy Wooter.

I bought one for christmas last year and I must say it thoroughly rocks. We use it in the kitchen and on occasion take it on trips in the car. Comes with two headphones (extras available at Circuit City for $40) and a great carrying case with straps that allow you to hang it anywhere in the vehicle. Thinking about getting another one....must resist, must not give in...

Wal-Mart has a 15" LCD flat TV for $190...add a cheap $30 dvd player to that and you've spent $220 for a 15" flat LCD tv with dvd.

I dont see spending $300 for a 12" tv/dvd lcd. Like someone said earlier, you could get a laptop for almost that price...even if it is only a 1ghz or 1.5ghz laptop, it would still be a much better overall product.

The fact is that DVD players now are c-h-e-a-p. It is almost to the point where it is EXPECTED to be a feature, not one you would be charged extra for. That being said, I dont see $300 for a 12" LCD screen and the built-in dvd player doesnt help justify the cost. I only paid $265 for my Dell 19" Ultrasharp LCD dvi.

However, I WOULD pay $300 for a 17" or 19" lcd flat tv with or without a built in DVD. That is exactly what I'm looking for to put in my bedroom....

I couldn't agree more. TV is the key word here. Why get a laptop when it's a TV that you (or someone else) wants? This was a gift for someone who wanted a small TV so the DVD player was an unexpected plus! Now, I'll have money left over to throw in a few DVDs.

I guess I can see a use for this in some cases :)

Using it in the car with a power adapter would be a nice use...but I'll stick to my carputer (full XP pro in car computer with touch screen)

I do like the idea of a small, portable tv for the guest room or porch (with my wireless tuner transmitter) or where-ever...would give me TV anywhere there is a plug.

As for what I'M looking for (bedroom flat tv)...I can't see anything less that 17" in my bedroom (insert your own perverted joke here)...12" seems like it would be too small to see while relaxing in bed across the room.
