I agree that manufacturers and retailers bank on the fact that the majority of people will NOT go to the trouble of sending in the forms, or will forget they had done so. Is that the fault (or responsibility) of the manufacturer or retailer? Casino's bank on the fact that the majority of people will lose money in their casino's. Does that make the casino industry a scam?

In fairness to the issuers of the rebates, they have every right to ask that you provide adequate proof of purchase (bar codes, UPC's, receipts with prices circled, etc). And to be rewarded with a free or almost free product, I am happy to comply. The instructions are not unreasonable, and anyone who can comprehend the English language (what is that? about 35% of the people living here?) can dot their i's and cross their t's..

I ALWAYS make a photocopy of my submission (all on one sheet per rebate), and note the date sent. If after the usual 4-6 weeks (sometimes 8-12), If I have not received any communication from the issuer, I reach out to them.

At the end of the day, the whole process takes a few extra minutes of my time, and puts hard earned money back into MY pockets.

The only complaint I have with some of the rebates these days is the fact that they issue them in a pre-paid debit card rather than a check... This forces us to spend that money rather than actually SAVE it, which was the intent in the first place...

Let's put it into proper perspective: I've been a woot member for nearly 2 and a half years, and their "Quality Post" rankings only began when they revamped the site about 5 or 6 months ago.

Received e-mail this morning announcing that the headset had been shipped. When I checked the tracking number, it said estimated delivery would be December 4. When I got home from work today, it was sitting there waiting for me. And as an added bonus, the battery in it was fully charged and ready to go. Good deal so far, now to fill out the rebate and get most of my money back. Thanks Woot!

The estimated delivery date for my order had always been 12/8 (Tue), but I just checked it again, it said it was delivered on Saturday by USPS. But in fact I haven't received the headset.

Is this just a glitch on the tracking system at Fedex or USPS?

I got a DOA foot heater last time, and now I need to deal with another issue. Pretty disappointed!

Just as a heads-up, the rebate form that was included in the box says that no rebate forms other than the one included in the box will be accepted. I'm not sure what that means for the PDF rebate form.

The little red MIR form was in the headset box.
I'm also going to assume they'll accept the receipt copied from our woot accounts.
It says the offer is valid for woot so they must know woot didn't ship out any hard copies of the receipts.

Okay, this is kind of hilarious.

Mine shipped on 11/30. I'm in North Carolina. According to Fedex, it went from Texas to West Virginia to New York to New Jersey back to New York and is now on its way to Puerto Rico.

Just set mine up. Paired easily with a Nokia 6300 cell phone. Easy to hear and the person I called said it sounded okay. The bottom of the box with the UPC code was kind of chewed on looking (like someone had opened it then resealed it) but I don't care as long as it doesn't affect the rebate.

Read the rebete form carefully and don't wait to send it in. I'm out $60. because in the fine print they have a 30 day(or 21 as per their phone rep) after purchse mail in date even though the program dates state a much longer period.

How are you out $60? The rebate letter needs to be POSTMARKED within 30 days for it to be valid. So you have until the 26th to send it in

I give it a Meh...

I haven't used it in the car yet, where it might really be useful with the 'noice cancelling', but it is apparently quite clear to the person you're talking to, right next to a particularly loud set of servers.

However, two annoyances:
1) No voice dialing with my motorola phone, whereas my supposedly crappier motorola bluetooth supported it.
EDIT: Whoops. I just waited a few more seconds and it does indeed have my voice commands. Hooray!
2) Does not connect to ipod touch.

It's pretty comfy in the ear though... I lost my earbud cover for my motorola headset; maybe i'll just take this one. That's $1.99 for an earbud cover, people [assuming the rebate goes through]. Well worth it if it's comfortable. ;]

I submitted my rebate materials using the PDF rebate form from the Woot website. Today I got a postcard from the rebate processor, stating that my rebate was denied because:

"Invalid Original Rebate Form"

This, quite frankly, blows monkey chunks. What was the point of providing the rebate form if Samsung isn't going to accept it?
