Holy wow! You cannot beat this price for such a great pair of earbuds. Yes, there are others out there with better sound, but these are FAN-TAS-TIC for the price. Nothing out there comes close to the quality of these in this price range. In for another to gift to my father.

If you've never had quality headphones... Try these... Not BOSE quality, but great for the cost! I love them! Good for rock music.

I bought these here. Comfortable, durable, fine quality. However I can feel an mild but annoying electric charge when I plug them into my laptop. Perhaps the laptop headphone jack isn't well grounded, and the metal conductive ear buds contribute to it. Other non-metal ear buds don't do this on my laptop, and these ear buds in low-powered devices don't do this. Does anyone else have the same issue?

How well are these at canceling out noise? Like on an airplane or on a bus?

I'm the "W. C. Price "not your broom"" review on Amazon; Amazon cut up my review, but I was saying I bought the pair on Woot. and I stand by my review that these are mediocre.

I got a set for my wife and myself and I love them. I didn't at first because they wouldn't stay in my ears. I then stuck them in like earplugs and they sounded way better and stay in just great. For 13 bucks, I'm completely satisfied. She loves them too.

I'm using a pair right now. Very nice for the price. It looks much more expensive that what you paid. The sound is also pretty good. Excellent bass (but not overwhelming) and mids, but the highs are a bit lacking and the definition is a bit muddled. But that's often the case in earbuds that have good bass response. I have some more expensive Altec Lansings which has excellent highs and fantastic definition but the bass is pretty weak. These Maximos are also very comfortable. In fact, I often fall asleep with them on. MY ear can rest on the pillow with the Maximo in and I'd still fall asleep comfortably -- as I did yesterday.

I bought 3 pairs when they first appeared on Woot last year. They came with a great hard case (and internal winder for the cord). I believe the new models only comes with a drawstring bag.

I love Woot and buy all the time from this site, and am 99 percent of the time completely satisfied with my products, but I must warn you that these headphones SUCK. One side blew out within a couple of days. Got a replacement pair from Maximo (they have a lifetime warranty) and within a few days, the new pair had the exact same problem. The sound was only coming out of one side.

Yes, I could have sent the second pair back for a replacement third pair, but how much time do you devote to something?

The most disappointing thing was that for the few days they worked, these were some fantastic headphones, just about the best outside noise-isolating set of headphones I've ever owned. So you may buy these and be thrilled for a day or two or even a week, until they f--- up. Seriously. Save your money.

i do after a while (like months or w.e) but i figured thats cuz i treat my headphones like scaffolding, i.e., leaving them on the ground and rolling over them w/ my chair, etc

steyrkat wrote:When I bought these from Woot last time, I received a really unsatisfactory pair. The cables make a rattling noise in the buds when you move around and are stiff. The bud covers were uncomfortable and not very rubbery/soft. The sound quality was even tinny and not vivid compared to the $30 steelseries they were supposed to replace. I might have received a bad one by luck, maybe normally they're good. I wouldn't recommend these though...

My sentiments exactly. I also really didn't enjoy having to spend the time (per mfg. recommendations) to break these in to experience such lackluster sound quality. Avoid this repeat Woot offering.

Kick it!

I bought one pair of these from woot in June. I love them so much and have been waiting 6 months for the chance to buy more. I almost broke down and bought skull candy's earphones on black friday. Now I'm glad I waited.

I have 2 mp3 devices, and would like to have a pair for each. Plus I just have to get my hubby to switch from the earphones that came with his Sansa. He doesn't know what he's missing! In for two!

I've had no problems with my original set, except once they shocked me, when pulling laundry out of the dryer. But that was kind of cool ;) I find them comfortable with the largest size tips (I think that's what I've been using). I don't understand how NONE of the 3 sizes of tips work for some people. Small, Medium and Large come with the earphones. I find the sound is great. "Breaking them in" is a wise thing to do. Simply turn them on and let them play for a few hours- like it says in the manual, sound will be impressive. And... They look good!

A major complaint some users have is that these fall out of the ear too easily. As I stated in another post, I often fall asleep with them on and they remain in my ear. And I can exercise as well. Here's the secret -- and why they can be in ear without disturbing my sleep.

1) make sure you choose the correct silicone insert to fit your ear canal

2) Put in the earbud as you normally would

3) Once it's in as much as you can comfortably push it, push the metal back end of the bud toward the back your head.

4) Now tuck the bud's back end behind the antitragus (see diagram below). It's the little raised flap right above the earlobe.

5) The antitragus should hold the bud firmly in place. And the fact the it's now flushed against your ear means that you can sleep on it.

got these a year ago, have been great headphones, just a few weeks ago they fell out of my pocket and i rolled over them with my chair, ended up pulling the wire out inside one of them. ordered a pair of the razer m100's in the last wootoff and they just didn't compare to these.

I would confidently say that these are worth buying. Over my lifetime I have owned many different earbuds, including prepackaged ipod buds and bose 100$ earbuds. While they don't compare to to the base of bose, they aren't terrible in the least and are a) more comfortable than the cheap pair of earbuds you may be using and b)will sound better as well. At this price it is totally worth getting a pair. Also the Maximo lifetime warranty is a huge bonus, recently my pair shorted out (I always wrapped the cord around my ipod and eventually screwed up the inner wiring; lesson learned) and I shipped them with ease to Maximo and they gave me a new pair for free. Buy them!

sound and fit great when they work. Bought a pair last time on woot, and about a month later the left earbud stopped working. I got a free replacement from Maximo, and again, about a month later the left ear bud stopped working.

Although I joked previously about this, here's some serious advice. If you feel a current wearing these, discontinue using them immediately. There are two places you don't want any external current going through: the heart and the brain, both of which depend on internal currents to operate. I don't know the nature of these shocks but if the two buds complete a circuit, you risk current going through your brain (although it would more likely go across the outer skin).

I've bought four of these. One got caught in my lathe, and it surprisingly didn't survive. The other three have had problems with the plug. Like all headphones I've had, this point is very weak and generally fails after getting bent around with regular use. I had a very expensive set do the same thing. I've taken to replacing the straight plug with a heavy duty metal encased L-plug from an internet electronics supplier. This procedure is a little delicate because the wires are very small. Even with this problem, I just bought three more pair because they have excellent sound quality.

I got this when woot was selling this a couple of months back. The bass is good and the highs are adequate. It is comfortable while blocking a portion of the environmental noises. Not exactly audiophile quality but still a very good buy for the price.

Great phones. I even use them when riding a motorcycle and they block out the engine noise. Very good fidelity and excellent noise cancellation.
