As a matter of fact, I just rammed one of these babies right through the screen of my girlfriend's MacBook, just to see. It sure did the job! Excuse me, I have to go find out why she's screaming. She sure sounds mad for some reason...

i dont know why everyone is saying its pricey i cant find this exact one but the 9 piece and 11 piece they make are 900-1200 so this seems pretty darn cheap for a set of knives that are top of the line

I'm sure this cutlery is of the highest quality, but let's leave it to the Neiman Marcus catalog and get back to real world items.

Not like you're gonna buy anything anyway, if you haven't bought anything in two years to begin with.

I know quality knives are expensive ... but, for a woot item, this is still pricey.

I personally own Cutco knives, which I believe to be superior to Henckels; but both are inferior to these. I just can't justify spending that much on knives. Heck, I wouldn't even have my Cutco set if my sister had not worked for Cutco and given them to me for my wedding.

So we only need 44 more mega rich professional chefs on woot and we'll be good to go.

How hard can that be?

If I had the money I would buy this. I buy one Shun knife every year or two. Shun is in a league of it's own that Henkel and Wustof can't even touch.
Kershaw imports these from Japan by people who have been making this relica of Domascus steel for over 400 years. Replica Domascus steel because part of the process of domascus steel is trust the hot blade into a living human-being. I'm sure ever humanitarian org would be all over them. I think the price would be much higher than this also.

My wife refuses to wash these knives because they have cut her too many time while washing. The literally cut the brissels off a scrub brush. (I keep them sharp, and they are very hard to dull with vg10 32 layer steel)

I love my 7 piece Shun classic set that I got on sellout a few months back. My father bought the 9 piece Ken Onion set and I've used them once. The Ken Onions are much heavier in your hand than the classics but JUST as sharp. They're all excellent knives.

Knife handle feel is extremely person specific. Before you jump into any of high quality knife, Japanese or German, you need to try them out personally. Williams-Sonoma will generally let you try out the different knives and often have a couple Shun, Wustof, Global etc sets that you can try out.

Happy cooking

It's not that most of us don't recognize quality knives. But most people that come to a DISCOUNT WEBSITE don't need professional grade knives.

... Or are you too stunningly stupid to realize that?
