These are truly great knives. They are well balanced and very sharp. I have a set in a counter top block and am very happy with them. They are so sharp I hardly noticed I had cut the end of one of my fingers mostly off recently. I sutured it back on and its doing great (I'm a veterinarian) with most of the sensation returned. Honestly, if you can afford these knives, buy them.

For the sake of all the guys/gals watching this, I hope they don't have more than two of these $200 knife sets at a special $600 price!

Reading back, this is probably the worst Wootoff ever!

I no longer waste my time watching continuously.

Good luck, Woot, with these floor sweepings from the Salvation Army back room!

Wonder how long it'll take for this to reach 1,000 posts.

Probably not long if a lot more people start posting lolcats.

I've wanted these every time they've come up, but never managed to get in before they sell out.
Not this time, woot! Christmas present for myself.

I remember catching flack for spending $100 on a single chef's knife many years back - a Sabatier au Carbone one. Well - I've still got the knife some 20 odd years later and the folks that gave me flack have gone through set after set of "reasonably priced" knives. Moral of the story - good knives are well worth the price and can actually "save" money in the long run. Plus - nothing makes cooking and preparing easier than a really sharp knife. I'd buy these if I didn't already have 2 kitchens with dozens of knives each...

I personally own Cutco knives, which I believe to be superior to Henckels; but both are inferior to these. I just can't justify spending that much on knives. Heck, I wouldn't even have my Cutco set if my sister had not worked for Cutco and given them to me for my wedding.

And I bet you don't enjoy cooking much...

The community isn't stupid. They just mostly have other interests. Also, many of them are college students who, if they had $600, wouldn't spend it on knives when they live in a dorm with no kitchen. Relax...the knives will sell to plenty of people who just aren't commenting in the forums.

I can buy the J.A. Henckels Twin Pro S 9-Piece Knife Set with Block for $399 and they are some of the best chef knives in the world. Just because the knives are marked down $700 doesn't mean I'm going to buy them.

I think that Woot is channeling Dexter as the season draws to a close. Will Dexter kill his ex-mentor ? Which knife will he use to cut throgh the breastplate ? Will the camera linger on the knife so we can see the brand ? Will it be the one we missed on Woot ? Don't second guess yourself, buy it now.

I'll admit, when I first saw the $600 tag, I kinda freaked out a little bit. But then I realized I was on knivesyoucantafford.woot. I think I'm going to wander my way back to the regular woot for the usual items that I don't need to take out a small loan to purchase.... Looks like they have enough of these to erase our nation's debt by the time they are all sold.

Waste of money.

I can get a ginsu knife for $9.99 (and the second one is free), and I can cut cans, nails, butcher blocks, slate, granite and still slice a tomato into beautiful slices.

Such a waste.

This is a great deal! I saw these at Saks Fifth Avenue for nearly double the price this morning.....NOT.

Seriously, there has to be less than a handful of people that both (1) shop on Woot, and (2) would think it reasonable to spend $600 on a set of knives.
