congrats to everyone great stuff.

Mine finally left LA after sitting there a few days. The USPS has been kind enough to state they will hold the box for me until my return instead of leaving it sitting out at my house.

Cant wait to see what the person with the letter got.

You don't get the point...
If you want the stuff that works - you order that stuff. If you order crаp, let me spell it out for you C - R - A - P, that is what you get! Completely random things that are c - r - a - p - p - y. Someone may get a gem of a working stuff, but others get the leftovers Woot scoops up around their warehouse!

The golden rule of holy crаp is: ANYTHING GOES.

That means any kind of item in any kind of condition is considered a valid crappy item. If you don't agree with this, it may then be the case covered under commandment number III:

III. Thou shalt take a moment to consider whether you might be better off just not buying this crаp.

... and of course the golden commandment number V:

V. To paraphrase Stephen Stills, shalt thou not get the crаp you want, want the crаp you get.

So my stuff was sent from Indy to Belleville- which is half a state further away from me than Indianapolis- and has now left and arrived at Belleville twice. I would call it a typo, but my stuff is now scheduled to arrive the 26th instead of the 23rd which it was listed as last week. What are they doing with my scaffolding? :[

mine was at the post office last night, posted just before 5, will get today, can't wait, should be here by 11. mine is just under 4 lbs, started out just under 3 lbs. To those who lost weight, mine must have reached into one of yours and added a pound. I hope it wasn't victory wax.

waiting to see what is on that skid of electrical goodies.

Got my very first Boggy Old Creature.

Not as good a haul as some, but who cares? It's scaffolding!

x1 white toaster (unknown if it works)
x1 Zune car kit (appears to be brand new)
x1 leather case for an iPhone
x1 Jabra Bluetooth headset. (won't sync to my phone).
x1 digital camera case
x1 set of Sansa headphones
x1 random USB cable
x1 Xbox 360 Induction Battery charger (minus AC adaptor)
x2 80 gig internal hard-drives. (condition unknown)

2 Star Trek figures

Pink Panther DVD's

2 wallet size digital photo things

Sansa e260 4gb (busted)

120 gb hard drive (busted)

300 gb hard drive (busted)

Not worth all the time and effort at all... not even for bragging rights.

If you think a 30GB Zune isn't worth the 8 bucks paid then I will be more than happy to pay you the $8 for your stuff and have you ship it all over to me. I was hoping to get a Zune in my baggy but got another Sansa View instead and you don't hear me bitching.

I always get stuck on one of the pages in the ordering process. Therefore, it has become a woot negative for me. I know I can't get one, so I ignore them. And I also ignore the woot offs for the same reason--not enough time to evaluate many of the products, so therefore there is a greater chance of buying something that will not fit my needs/wants.

I'm sorry to hear you get discouraged, but you are probably in the minority I mentioned in the part of my posting you snipped.

Look at my box - I've been on Woot since 2005, and I've been trying to get the elusive crаp on and off since then. Guess when I managed my first one ever? This year, 2009! And not just that, but through this year I've scored 5 (f-i-v-e) craps! So the luck can change! You never know. And crappy connections are not always an excuse. There were reports of people snagging them from their iPhones!

But then again... who am I to tell you to come back and try again. One less person trying, means one more of these trying is going to get one next time... Maybe me...... If you choose not to go for it, so be it!

Look for getting a B O C to be harder in the future, especially in the Atlanta area. A local TV station did a "values" report in the news last night and again this morning, extolling the virtues of Woot.com.

Got that right.

My BofC's status is "Arrived at local Post Office - Allow one to two additional days for delivery" and that's as of noon yesterday. They might very well deliver today. That means my wife gets to open it - there's no way a reasonable man would deny his wife the joy of opening a BofC.

Meanwhile, I'm dying of curiosity and hoping I get some not-dead WD hard drives (got a MyBook enclosure I'm trying to reuse) or other non carpy carp.

My Bank of Cambodia arrived yesterday shooting my day from boring to exciting at 40 Gs. I'm at work now so I'm going to have to look at the picture to remember exactly what I got, but have a micro-sized look yourself -

1x Spock Vinyl Figure
1x Kirk Vinyl Figre
1x Roadshow Travel Alarm
1x Fartmaster Farting Pen
1x Shocking Cell Phone
1x American Tourister Baggalag
1x Dual Pack (2x?) Standard Calculators
1x Strange Koosh-headed Pen Pack
1x Microsoft Office OneNote CD key bearing piece of cardboard (CD Key removed, no CD)
1x 40G hard drive (Haven't tested)
1x 120G hard drive (Non-tested)
1x LeatherFolio
2x Pocket Wallet Photo-showing-machines

and the fanciest -

1x fully functional bluetooth headset with all the chargers except the battery powered one, which I Think would have been the coolest. Actually I don't know if it's fully functional because I only checked my voicemail so I don't know if the receiver works.

Regardless, it's a great first Big Old Cake and I'll be in line fighting for another the next time around.

I am a little disappointed I didn't get any of those plane models... does anyone who got a bunch or not want theirs want to sell me some of the cool WW2 ones? Send me a message if so.

What a terrible article. The facts they present are wrong.

First, in the video they say the item goes on sale at 12:01, and in the article they say 1:01am (both of which are wrong, it goes on sale at Midnight Central Time)

Also, they say "The website indicates how many of the item are purchased each hour but does not reveal how many are available total." This is also untrue. Woot does indicate a percentage of the amount of sales that occurred for each hour, but we get no indication of those quantities.

Technically speaking, they are correct about the 1:01 am, Atlanta is EST, or "1 hour ahead" of CST, so it would go on sale at 1:01am local time Atlanta.

EDIT- Yet they do say 12:01am in the video. Without saying it's CST.

That question was just answered. She called me to ask permission and listed the contents as she pulled them out of the box:
2x flying aces
1x Spock figurine
1x paperwork for a sunpac tripod
1x 5MP gfm camera
1x 10MP Polariod i1035 (has pics of a dog & a truck)
1x 4GB Memorex media player (not sure about this)
1x Photo bag
1x Excalibur bag
1x Belkin DVI to something cable
1x USB 2.0 extension cable

Not bad at all. I'm looking forward to tinkering with the camera as it's now the best one in the house. The media player seems like an oddball and if I can get it working I'll trade it here (hopefully for a large working WD drive). Photos later if possible!

I got mine in over the weekend....

Bottle of the wax - Just like everyone else's

Digital Photo converter - Haven't looked closely at it, supposed to convert old photos into digital ones. Probably just a cheapo digital camera mounted inside a case

Remote (Web) controlled "SpyBot" or whatever the name is - No idea if it works or not, just no time to mess with this stuff yet.

I'd say worth the $8 even if I don't really have a use for it all, so no complaints here.

One question though, I saw a couple of others mention there was no "bag" in theirs. None here either. I don't think there was one in the last one I got as well. I remember the old days they said you always got a bag of some sort, but I just assumed they quit doing that when they went to the current format of the Boggy Old Creature. No biggie, just curious. I highly doubt I'd contact CS over a missing bag. Although one item I still use today from a Boggy Old Creature a few years ago is the bag that came in it. Great travel bag. Hmmmm.

As for signatures. No one was home and mine was dropped off on my front porch with no sig required. I wonder if the people having this issue all live in apartments and that is driving the carrier to not want to leave it there.

My 43.4 pound baby of the cosmos arrived this morning. Here's what was inside:

(1) Delonghi convection/toaster oven
(1) Phillips amBx speaker system w/game (beat up box, but looks to be unopened.)
(1) digital projector of some sort - haven't tested
(2) American tourister camera bags
(24) flying aces model planes

Not a bad haul. The toaster oven is sweet - fits a 12" pizza and has a broil setting, I'll be in good shape with that one.

Either way is WRONG!. The new sales start at 12:00 Central Time sharp! Not at 12:01. And if anyone wants to argue that the single minute isn't important.... Well... Good luck catching the midnight BоC then! You'd be screwed if you're 10 seconds late, leave alone a minute!

I agree -horrible article, I don't think it will bring much more competition to the crаps. Especially if they try to get it at 12:01.

I can't decide if I'm happy or disappointed about this: just found out the delivery date of my Boggy Old Creature was pushed back from tomorrow (when I will be out of town) to Monday (when I am back). I mean, yay that I won't have to be out of town wondering what's in the Boggy Old Creature, but now it's going to arrive while I'm at work instead of already waiting for me when I return home from my vacation...

At least it hasn't lost any weight on the commute from WV to NJ. Still 10.1 beautifully crappy pounds, 24.5 in. x 12.9 in. x 12.8 in.
