Wow, that explains why Woot's color scheme is green. It's a salad bar. There's some deep metaphorical stuff going on here!

everyone complaining about missing the Boggy Old Creature: just download the woot autobuyer. i just got my 6th set of 3 using it :D. best part is you dont even have to sit thru a boring set of $600 knives either.

Airliners.net is deconstructionist propaganda films for pilots.

Uh, read the description BEFORE you buy next time.

Woot isn't at fault, here, they clearly stated it is refurbished. You went ahead and bought it anyway. We have no pity for you. Enjoy your new hard drive.

There should at least be a way to cancel the order until near the end of the sale on that item.

These drives originally had a firmware (revisions SD15, SD16, SD17, SD18 for this drive) bug that can randomly brick it at boot (we're talking 30-40% of all units). Being "Factory recertified" I wonder if that bug was fixed. It's too bad the firmware revision isn't listed. Woot?

I really love how the harddrive posts are all about the Boggy Old Creature and the few people who mention the harddrive don't really say too much about it. As for everyone saying it's cheaper elsewhere, links would be nice otherwise your post kinda isn't worth a whole lot to the community.

i am saying they could invest a little money in keeping their base customers happy as we have supported them for years.

The Boggy Old Creature strikes me as Woot's version of a crane machine. Everyone thinks they're going to get the big score, but most will come up empty, and the ones who do win probably would have saved more time and money just buying what they wanted from a store.

Hate to see these lock up a Woot Off but the two I previosly bought recertified crashed and had to be replaced TWICE by Seagate. Great service, but better back up and back up often!

I bought one of these drives from Woot (same drive, 500gb barracuda, sata 32mb 7200rpm refurbished) and I've used it in my primary desktop for the past 8-12 months with no problems whatsoever. Seagate is a GREAT brand with awesome customer support. When a different Seagate drive of mine died, they replaced it with a bigger drive.
