Got my Poker machines in today. Very nice actually. Better than I thought they would be. Bigger as well.
Thanks Woot.

I got a chance to open them and test one of the poker machines out. The game is really fun. Definately "fancier" than your average game. My only complaint is the dim screen. I tried to sets of batteries in two different games and both of them performed the same. Otherwise, a great woot.

Y'all had me a little worried, as I had bought 2 of these...one for me, one for a gift...and I had already wrapped the gift. I don't want to give a crappy present.
So....
I just now got mine out of the box, and the display is just a tad on the dim side...but fine. (Please don't throw rotten tomatoes at me...I hate that some of y'all are having problems.) I have noticed, however, that it IS somewhat light-sensitive, much like solar-powered calculators. Try it in different lighting and see if that helps.
If the one I already wrapped turns out to have a defective display, I'll just swap mine with them and contact Saitek directly.
Now, to learn how to play....

I can see that this is going to be an addictive little game! I know regular poker, but had never played this variation. Watched it for the first time at an impromptu get-together Friday night...but only had time for a couple of hands before I had to leave.
I lost my first hand on this, but won the next two. (Granted, it's still set on 'easy' mode....LOL)
One of these days, I might even get the directions out and read them to figure out what it is I'm actually supposed to be doing...LMAO. (Nah....it's more fun this way!)
As to the display, I have found that seems to be more position-sensitive than light-sensitive. If you look down directly at it (line of vision at a 90-degree angle to the surface of the unit), it will look very dim. If you tilt it away from you to a 45-degree angle (which is actually more comfortable for me anyway), the numbers are very sharp and dark. At least, they are on mine....
Hope that helps some of you who are having trouble viewing the display.

As posted back on the 14th when I got mine, the screen is a bit dim - but I found that if you tilt it outward just a bit, it is much more readable. If you look down straight at it, you will hardly see anything.
I agree with y'all. I could never ever release a product as hard to see as this thing and more than likely I will never by Saitek again if they let this quality of product leave with their name on it.
But all in all, for the price I paid with shipping, I am okay with it. I have already had hours of fun with mine. I am up 8k on normal mode... wish it was that easy in real life.
edit: and for those who want to throw those away, I will offer you .50 on the dollar for them... better than nothing, and I will pay actual shipping. anyone, anyone??? I have a cousin or two that would like this.
