Oh, come on now... how is that a Box of Crippie?? There wasn't one single thing in there made by Excalibur!! :P

Seriously though... that genuinely made me laugh out loud. Props to you and you'uns for the great sense of humor and sharing that with us!

Way to abuse the folks drunkenly trying to put together their children's bicycles, WOOT! I loved it! And to all the people who don't think READING is FUNdaMENTAL... better luck next time! I saw the SOLD OUT immediately and thought I'd read and research a little more.. and blam! Lucky biiiiiiya!

Big ups to Woot for the mental workout at 1am EST on a fantastic night...

And stinger72 - if you get any tires that will fit a '98 F-150, I'll take 2 - maybe 4 - if the price is right!

It was nearly 5 minutes after by the time I clicked on the link and then on "I want one". And I still was able to get one. Thank You Woot for Santa's Sack-O-scaffolding.

That's funny. I was so pissed and thought it sold out right away as usual, then I read the details and found the link to the Sack-o-c.rap. I was cutting it close and still got the best christmas present ever, random woot leftovers.

I'm shocked it beat out scripts! Regardless, I don't think they are sending anything for that (probably good, they'd send me a skid of tires).

Are autofill programs frowned upon? I personally like what they did, woot is great at mixing things up. There will always be whiners, but keep up the mixup and more people will get Boggy Old Creature that never had before.

So, did your account get charged ten thousand? Just curious.

It's always nice when I can use real world examples in my English classroom. Today's lesson will be a wonderful example about the importance of reading. I'll also be able to make the point stick as I open my basket of cacti with my students.

Thanks W O O T!

Was anyone else confused by the little sidebar description on the "Secret Page"? What's with the reference to "manually entering" orders, and what backdoor are they talking about?

Sorry, but my time is too valuable to waste reading any text that follows "SOLD OUT!" if they want to fool the bots, use pictures instead.

Whats the matter, yer bot didn't work? lol Seriously, what else could you be doing late at night while waiting for the new deal to come up that is worth SO much of yer time. ;-)

Went to bed right after I scored so this is first chance to check forum.
Awesome way to do the scaffolding! Took me three clicks before I read.
This is my seventh scaffolding and I don't even know what a bot is so I am definately not using one...I'm an old technoilliterate hillbilly.
I even got a scaffolding with the purchase of the lights and it was the best scaffolding ever!!!

Dear Woot,

Thank you for the present. I waited up like an eager elf and was rewarded for my efforts - my first sack in over 2 years. I went to bed with dreams of Japanese toys, plasma tvs and odd electronic gizmos, sleeping for 11 hours of blissful joy.

I'm still grinning. Happy Christmas to me.

And the anticipation: is there a chance that they threw in something that's not quite as [fill in pejorative adjective that will pass the forum word filter] as the rest of the [fill in pejorative noun, probably related to the adjective in the previous brackets, that will pass the forum word filter] in the bag?

If you need to try to get a "cheat" refund, you shouldn't spend the 8 bucks in the first place! I've had broken items in past "bags", but all they were always worth what was spent, in fun and actual worth!

OK so I love Woot as I just scored my first Black Ogre Corpse last night after a few years of membership. Can anyone explain Woot's business model and how it can afford to sell bags of scaffolding for such prices...assuming that the average Boggy Old Creature has an approx value of $30 (while obviously taking a margin loss but also getting rid of slow moving inventory). I am just assuming that Woot's inventory turns are on the order of 300 or more which is outstanding but the Boggy Old Creature just baffles me in terms of profit margins. Does Woot just view their time more valuable when it's spent searching for the next high volume buy vs. spent trying to get rid of inventory at a better resale value?

The most common explanation I see is that it is a "loss leader" for Woot! Certainly that holds true during Woot-Offs. There are probably tens of thousands of folks glued to the computer for days, waiting for the Basket of Cats, and while they are at it, they pick up a few other items.

It certainly builds a following for Woot. Some of the other D-O-D sites have tried it, but none as successfully as Woot!, because the others only have crap in the bags. Woot! keeps the expectation that there may be a gold nugget in with the horse manure.

In a more cynical view, its a way to get rid of un-sellable items and useless bits and pieces, and have people enjoy getting it. An example of un-sellable items that Wooters love to get are the beat-up Sansa players. Can't sell a scuffed but functional Sansa, but if its in a bag, everyone is happy.
