I bought 3 last time wooted! Units work as they should but earpiece is fragile.
Caution on the rebate....Received letter that rebate was rejected due lack of "Unit Number". The number was on the invoice copy that was submitted. Made a phone call to India I think and rebate was reconsidered...still waiting for the rebate.
Samsung should not cheapen themselves with rebate "scams".

Sent mine and was accepted Nov 26.
Status still reads "Your rebate is valid and is scheduled for final processing."

I haven't either, but I did get a confirmation email with a link to check the rebate status, which currently reads "Your rebate is valid and scheduled for final processing."

Exactly what that means, who knows. But I can call and give someone hell if another month or so goes by because I received that email.

EDIT: I hadn't read all the way down the page yet, obviously I'm not the only one that's in this situation...

Read the fine print on the Rebate PDF - offer valid through Jan 15, 2010. Can Woot! get it to us in enough time to send out for the rebate?
(EDIT: Offer validity is for purchases - we still have 30 days from the date of purchase to send in the rebate form)

Also it was pointed out that the rebate is in the form of a Visa gift card - fine print also states there is a $3 monthly maintenance fee on the card!

Expect to just by a bluetooth for $17.99 + S&H

To all those hating on Woot's customer service over the rebate issue, I feel like I should point out that this is not a Woot rebate.

This is a rebate offered by Samsung, Woot is just the messenger.

Your real issue is with Samsung. In my experience, Woot's customer service has gone above and beyond every time I have had an issue that needed to be taken care of.

I grabbed 2 of these the last time they were up (one each for my wife & myself). The sound is crisp, it fits snugly on either ear, and one of our rebates has come back already, the other is in the "issuance" stage.

This is a great deal and a good BT piece.

Just really damn lucky: Random Crap: 2/15/08, 2/19/09, 12/25/09, 4/1/10, 12/1/10, 12/25/10, 4/1/11, 5/11/11, 9/14/11, 10/12/11, 12/25/11

Use the gift card to fill your car with gas... the monthly fee becomes moot at that point.

It does say in the fine print to give it 8 weeks to process. Last time they offered it was Oct. 26th (and you had to wait to get it in the mail to send in the rebate). You *should* get it in January.

some tips to spend all of the money available on the rebate card.

1-Request a $20 cash advance from the TELLER in your bank. This almost always worked for me with visa rebate cards although I never tried it with the samsung rebate card.

2-Go to a B&M store and buy something over $20. Swipe the card and hit debit. When the machine asks you to confirm the total, hit NO. Then type in 20.
20 dollars will be charged to the rebate card and you will need to pay the rest with another card or cash.

3-Call the number on the back of the card and ask for a check. This rarely works but worth a shot.

4-Buy a $20 gift card for someone.

5-Never, ever charge less than 20 dollars on the card. When you have a small amount say $4.50 left on the card, you might have issues getting an approval when you try to buy something for $4 at some retailers. (CVS in my experience)

hope this helps.

elbob1023 wrote:Wow - $17.99 plus $5 shipping = $22.99

$22.99 - $20 mail-in rebate = $2.99 for the headset.

Or, if you buy three, that's $58.97 (including shipping) so you're getting paid $1.03 to take these headsets.

Sounds like a solid deal to me.

But you need to factor in postage cost to send in the rebates. Just accounting for the cost of postage ($.44) you come out behind by $.29. Still if I needed a bluetooth head set (or 3) I would likely but this.

But the rebate form says to allow up to 8 weeks for the rebate. That means that the October purchasers would be getting theirs about now? Yeah, you're tying up your money for 8 weeks. But buy three and you'll have $60 return on a $58.97 investment. That's like 11.4% annualized! woot! Just think if the terms allowed for UNLIMITED rebates! We could all be kajillionaires and have a trunkful of bluetooth headsets, too!

Got it 10/26/2009. Several things: I would buy it again especially since it will wind up costing me tax and shipping, works with iPhone, good noise suppression, ear loop a little tight, excellent talk and battery time. Last email inquiry I should get my $20 rebate card - next week. Rebate takes a long, long time. Yup, I live in Texas and get to pay tax. I have used it daily since I received it, in early November. I live with this one on just about 18/7.

The headset is comfortable for about 30 minutes, but then it starts to really annoy my ear with that plastic hook. Sound quality is great; friends don't know I'm using a headset. The ONLY complaint I have is that the volume is a little low. I have a louder car and really can't hear anything on the freeway, which is kind of the reason I got it in the first place.

Battery life is great, I can use it for about a week before I have to recharge it.

Yes that is one of the features I like.

Re reject rebate. I have tracked mine but when I did not receive it 4 wks after acceptance I email, got response within 4 days saying it would be mailed and I should receive it by 1/7. Now let's see if the rebate card works! If not Woot will hear from me. I have history with Woot and support has always been great. Just updated my list. I check Woot daily and keep it on the iPhone when a Woot off happens.

Be careful everyone that ordered 3 last time - they may reject your rebate if you try to order more.

From Woot.com's home page - Limit (3) rebates total per household or address (applies to previous and new purchases)

These work very well--the best ones I've ever owned, actually, but there were two small issues. I bought two from Woot, and one charger didn't work. Samsung has taken back the charger, but took one headset along with it to ensure that it wasn't the headset even though both headsets were fine. Annoying, but at least it was prompt customer service. Secondly, though I submitted the request for the $20 gift cards in early November, they haven't arrived, so we're past the 6 week point.

You are limited to one per account on this woot.. Set up a second account, and buy another.

As to rebates: If people follow the instructions for the rebate submission, there will be no problems. I've received one card from the last woot already, awaiting the second which is supposed to be mailed this week.

When you get the rebate card go out to your local supermarket and purchase a gift card for the full amount and you will not have to worry about fees and exact amounts left in the rebate card.

The only problem there is that alot of places prohibit the purchase of a gift card with a gift card..... Not sure why...

I bought this in the November offer, and sent my rebate materials in right away. I used the PDF rebate form from Woot's website. Yesterday I received a postcard saying my rebate could not be honored because "Invalid Original Rebate Form."

So if you're going to do this, be sure to use the "original" form that comes with the product, not the PDF.

(I've written to service@woot.com complaining about this, but it's the weekend so obviously they haven't had a chance to respond yet.)

Per rebate form: "allow 8 weeks for processing"

I received one back so far after just 6 weeks.. 8-10 weeks (sometimes as many as 12 weeks) is typical for rebates...

They also rejected one of my 3 - said I didn't include the UPC. Not sure how that could happen when I had all three laid out on the table and completed them at the same time making sure all the correct parts were in each envelope. I too believe it is a scam. Just too convenient that we get one of three rejected.

"1) Must submit downloaded pdf MIR form provided. Copies or duplications of completed form will not be accepted.
2) Must submit Original Part number/UPC label from Samsung Headset Box.
3) Must submit Receipt with valid product purchase circled."

so you have to mail in the actual rebate form, the upc cutout, and a receipt. i assume the simple woot receipt printed out will work...

Also note that the form requires you to PRINT IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.

They can reject your rebate if you do not follow directions EXACTLY!

Not the most durable of bluetooths. I bought three of them the last time they were sold on woot. One was broken in the box, the other two seem to be OK, but the button to activate has a cheap feel and I don't anticipate it lasting. I do not use this frequently, but when I do, it is a comfortable device. For the price, would recommend. Still waiting on the rebate from last time (Oct/Nov) - however the website does say "Your rebate is valid and is scheduled for final processing."
