Submitted my windows7 upgrade info on Jan15 & sent proof of purchase. Still no "charge confirmation" email. Tried Mentor Media @ 1.909.930.0800. The windows7 upgrade vmail box is full, so I guess they are doing the same to everyone.

This leaps into the vacuum! It is bad for Lenovo, and bad for Woot. I would not have bought this without a windows7 upgrade.....

Better yet, just post their name, phone number and email and us Wooters will get their attention. Feb 15th is just around the corner and we don't need any last minute excuses about incomplete orders. Thanks in advance.

Okay - so do it WOOT - same story here - no confirming email but a requirement to do something within 7 days - ie.e send in proof - i.e. 7 days of their silence means you send a certified mail copy as well and hope for the best - an auto-received-email that says we need more time becasue WOOT swamped us with work would stop the repeat attempts on our part and our anticpation to spend more WOOT moneys eases up.

Agreed. I'd surely be more patient if I just knew that the fulfillers were overwhelmed ... and it can't be helpful to them to be just getting more and more communications.

I just checked the Windows 7 Order site and it said I needed to validate my order. I did just that and sumitted, then received a message that the payment would be completed and the item would be shipped.

Can I ask what date you submitted your upgrade request so we can get an idea how many days backlogged they are? For example mine was submitted on Friday the 15th. Thanks

Faxed my paperwork in on the 19th but never received an email confirming proof of purchase like others are having. I then checked the site today and found it requesting validation of my order and operating system.I performed this validation on the site and my order is now valitidated. So now its a wait for shipping thing.
Hope this helps.

But i was charged twice...wondering if I will get a second set of discs? The first set was from Toronto, Media something.

This whole win 7 upgrade was intended for systems bought before the win 7 launch.

With win 7 being out for months why oh why didn't they just throw the upgrade discs into the PC box before shipping them to us??

This could have saved a lot of grief and ill will towards Woot and Lenovo.

While I'm ranting, how can a high-tech company *not* have the serial numbers of the systems built 9 months ago in their database???

I also just checked the Lenovo Win 7 upgrade site. I logged in with my order number ("Lenovo" was pre-filled-in, which I initially found confusing, until I realized it wanted the numeric part) and email address.

The result shows my shipping address; my PC's serial number; my OS and upgrade OS.

My order status is shown as "Pending for Proof of Purchase" (which I emailed on Jan. 18 and again on Jan. 20, since I hadn't gotten a confirmation), and my payment status as "Pending Deduction".

I guess we call it limbo ...

I sent an email .pdf copy of my receipt on Friday 1/15, no response. I then faxed my .pdf copies on Monday, 1/18 and had a fairly quick response that validation had been completed, but CC payment was still pending.

I just received notification today 1/26 that my CC has been charged (confirmed) and the product will ship soon.

My guess is that they have been overwhelmed. My Lenovo order # for the upgrade is 1400556. I noticed that some of those who had already received their upgrade disks had lower order numbers than mine (submitted before me).

Hope that helps. Looking forward to shipping confirmation.

1/14 sent receipt pdf to Lenovo for Win7 upgrade (printed and scanned Woot reciept from my account). 1/17 - payment successful email received from Lenovo. 1/22 - received "shipped" email from Lenovo with tracking number. 1/25 received disks. Remember, when sending in your receipt to Lenovo, do not hit reply to the email, you must send it to the address in the body of their email.

If you get an extra set of disks...I may be interested. This PC goes tom my mom and would like to update the wifes laptop to 7. I saw that lenovo would let you order more than one copy but I didn't want to risk adding confusion to an already confusing process.

Tracking says my disk hit my town 11:00 am yesterday. I should get it today.

A screen capture of the receipt here in your account info?

You said a .pdf. But a .pdf of what?

A .pdf of a woot order page complete with company logo (as they asked). To get that logo, I had to go to "page setup" in FireFox and tick the "print background" option. If you have any kind of print capturing software that will show up as a printer and create PDF, you can print directly to it. But if you don't - you can print it out on your printer (I used color just in case), and then scan the printout. Most scanner software that I know of can create .pdf, but if it can't - just make a .jpg. I don't think they tell us in what format to submit!

A thing to note - seems like I was one lucky person to get ahead of the line, because I live not far from the location they shipped these from, so I received my box on 1/13 and submitted the paperwork right away. Got confirmation in a matter of hours (and during the night actually, which makes me think that whoever actually gets these e-mails and processes orders may be overseas)...

I printed off my Woot receipt then scanned it in at work (automatic .pdf) It sounds like you can also choose to have it convert to .pdf when you print.

I tried contacting Customer service at 877-453-6686. They said that this was only for warranty support and referred me to sales at 866-968-4465.

This call was equally worthless, they kept referring me to the website and said that they can only give me the same status that I get "Pending for Proof of Purchase". They said I should contact the people whom I purchased the computer from.

I sent an email via the "contact us" link on the win 7 status page. The popup said "your question has been sent. You will hear from us within 10 working days".

If anyone actually got to speak with someone that actually helped them could you please tell us how you did it? Thanks

I submitted my order on 1/20. The order number is LENOVO1434141 which is much higher than the number of the person who already got the discs.

Yes, thanks I saw your post, what number did you call?
I'd be a tad bit less angry if I could at least get someone to look up my order and say it was fine. The person I spoke with kept telling me to go to the website for status.

When I spoke to the sales dept I made it clear to them that when I'm in the market for a laptop I won't be considering Lenovo because of how they are handling this.

Call 1-866-96-THINK

I followed the telephone tree instructions for an existing order. Now that was about ten days ago and they may be getting so swamped they are just saying check the website. I also sent an email to the contact us link on the Order status page, just to protect myself since this may not get resolved prior to Feb. 15th.

Thanks for the info, also worth trying, but I have the same question to you, did your order status change from "Pending for Proof of Purchase"?

I have little doubt that the email was received, just that the format of the proof may not be acceptable to them. We shouldn't have to send proof again, but if it helps I'll do it. Jeese, what a messed up system.

No one has said that they tried contacting Woot so I just fired off a rather lengthy letter to service@woot.com explaining the situation we are going through and asked them to do something about it.

I'll post any response I get.

I also called using the 777 ext, they were very pleasant, tracked down my email POP (which was just the image of my receipt included in the email, no pdf). I now got an email confirmation that my POP was accepted and will be processed.

I didn't get assurance about the time frame but I now know my order is ok and will be processed which is fine by me.

Order No LENOVO1405542
Order Status Order registration confirmed. Pending payment completion.

Payment Status Pending Deduction
Payment Date NA

I sent a screen capture of the woot receipt and then sent a pdf after receiving no response. Read through some woot comments and I went to their site and 'validated' it...and then got a email confirming the order registration. yet to ship so we'll see what happens.

Okay I must be doing it wrong.....

Still waiting on my upgrade disc order to go through although I think it may be my fault? Got my Lenovo on 1/13 and put through the order for the upgrade discs that night. I fired it up to check the bit rate on the OS - 32 bit. Put in the model number as 5355AFU (does anyone else worry that the model number sounds like an insult?) and then scanned my packing list and order email in on the 14th at work and sent that to Lenovo via the email address they provided. After four days of no change in the status, I resent the proof of purchase by email with receipt AND faxed it. Got my return receipt and fax confirmation. January 28 I get an email with the following message:

Lenovo is preparing to build and ship your Microsoft Windows 7 upgrade order, but the operating system (OS) and language combination that you requested is not valid. A validation website has been created to assist you with selecting the correct upgrade version.

OS and language combo is not valid??? What the heck?? The OS is Vista 7 home premium and the language is English. I went back through the Mentor Media website and validated my order.

Today Feb 1, I get the SAME email - OS and language not valid. I went to both the Lenovo and Mentor Media sites and the only thing I can see that might be wrong with my order is I didn't put a hyphen in-between the numbers and the letters in the model number 5355-AFU. I've fixed that and everything else is correct based on the machine I was sent.

So, my question is for those of you that have gotten an order confirmation and a shipment notice - did you put a hyphen in the model number or not?

Thanks!

Jim

i recall having the OS and language selections not go through because it didn't accept the serial number. i sent a POP and it got accepted and took the OS and language information as originally entered.

i used H210 in the model selection.

This is the confirmation email you want.

We are pleased to inform that your Proof of Purchase has been successfully validated and your order(s) will now be processed.

MODEL SERIAL NO STATUS REMARKS
H210 SS0942XXXX Pass

TOTAL AMOUNT: USD 17.03

You will receive another notification email when your order status has been updated.

I inserted X's on the last four digits of my serial number. Your order and request should look the same but with your serial number in place of the X's. Hope this helps.
I had to call Mentor to get them to process. I called at exactly 11am EST, so I was probably their first phone call of the day. X-777.
