I was not impressed with these at all - I had read some reviews that these were better than Skullcandies. These have a tinny sound and they do not stay in your ears as well. Glad they were only 9.99.

Finally arrived today! I've used Koss sparkplugs for past three or four years. I like these better than the "sponge" rubber of the sparkplugs. I haven't used these but hope for the "break-in" that has been talked about. The bass is not very strong and who doesn't like head pounding bass!

I'm very disappointed. The sound is tinny and weak. They are some of the worst quality headphones I've ever used...

Also, I never liked the design of one bud being on a longer wire than the other. These push that to the extreme, making the extra length on the right side a foot longer than the left. With the way it's done, I have a big wire hanging under my jaw when using them. If putting the extra length around the back of my neck, it's bothersome unless wearing a shirt with a collar.

What a shame that I ordered 6 pairs of these things...

Buy hey, I'll leave them on my desk playing some Clapton tonight. Maybe they'll be better by morning. Unfortunately that won't make the cable any more sensible.

I thought they were terrible at first but I was wrong. They sound fantastic.
In order to get good sound out of these buds you have to push them in your ear canal as far as they can go. Put the smallest pads on and give it a try.

I'm not entirely sure why, but I am being told that my order is still being initiated. Is there anyone I can contact about this, or should I just be patient?

Ours arrived the other day, and man oh man, this is the first Woot purchase that has left me feeling REALLY stupid.

I only bought ONE "two-fer" of these things. They are absolutely the BEST earphones I've ever had (displacing the Microsoft Premium in-ear set that I preferred prior to these arriving -- as well as the many OTHER in-ear phones I've bought in the past).

I really do prefer the asymmetrical "necklace" style cord, too. I absolutely LOATHE having my earphones dangling down by my knees if I take them out of my ears (like, for example, to talk with another human). With "necklace"-style phones, all I need do is pull them out of my ears and they stay on my shoulders.

The typical "Y" style (front-wear) phones are even more problematic when around water. There's no convenient way to prevent them from being inconvenient -- or even damaged -- when they fall out of your ears, unless you go to really absurd lengths, such as lacing them through your shirt buttons (can you say "uber-dork"?)

I've actually cobbled "normal" phones into necklace configuration in the past (twist-ties -- the thinking man's substitute for duct-tape ;}

I hope they list these again -- at the same price. I'll definitely back the proverbial truck up to the loading dock. I'm still kicking myself for having only bought this ONE two-pack, ARGH!

Have you opened the other five sets?

If not, how much would you take for them?

Seriously.

Just got mine today and I am very pleased with the sound and the fit. I will say they sounded a little off with my default Ipod settings. I adjusted the EQ a tad and they sound fantastic.

These are the worst earbuds I have ever bought. The sound is thin, tinny, with zero bass. They actually sound worse than some I got at a dollar store. I'll be returning them to Koss, for replacement ($6.00/pair s&h).Let's see,$16.23(Woot)+$12..00(Koss)= $28.23 worth of time wasted.

Got my 6 sets Friday. Six! What am I going to do with 6? I already have the one set that I use, but you get your best value when you order 3x of an item, so what else could I do? LoL. I think I did the same with the Sansa (3x).

Is it a bad thing when you can't remember what you ordered? I distinctly remember ordering one of the expresso makers yesterday, but still have the nagging feeling that I paid $3.33 too much.

With the Koss(es), I'd definitely recommend the burn in process if you're not getting the quality you're listening for, right out of the box.

Still very confused at how people can think these are ad headphones.

Are you sure you guys/gals are all sticking them in your ears properly?

These actually stay in your ears very well too.

For the above poster asking how you wear these:

Okay, pop the left bud in your ear. The best way I've found to do this is to put them in with a forwards angle. As in, imagine you are going from your ear heading towards your eyes. The shape of your ear canal means they fit much better this way. Push it in firmly, and you should instantly fell the deal form and sound isolation kick in. Note that it is possible for you to put the headphones in but 'not far enough'. So make sure you get that seal, it makes all the difference.

Now, take the second right ear bud, with the longer chord, and pass that around the back of your neck. Pop the ear bud in the same way as the first, and ta-da! All done.

I really do believe that all the people that are mentioning the tinny sound either A)Are used to very bassy headphones to begin with B)Aren't putting them in properly.

I'd be interested to hear (no pun intended) if people disagree with me on this.

I've tested virtually hundreds of ear buds in my days and I must say, these fit better than any I've tried in the past. I'm guessing I have an above average ear size being I'm 6'5", but I changed out the silicon cushion that came on the buds to the smallest ones in the pack. Great, tight fit...won't fall out. The sound is very good. I gotta believe the bad reviews regarding how these sound are from people not putting them in properly. As to the around the neck design of the cord...I'm not sure on this yet. Good idea but the long cord could be a few inches shorter. Quite pleased though overall.

I'm extremely happy with these! I bought some cheap ones at Best Buy thinking they were all the same. Those had annoying static, no audio adjuster, and no behind-the-head bud.

These were a great deal, they fit perfectly and sound is crisp and clear. Great Woot!

I agree that the people complaining about the sound (especially the lack of bass) are not putting these in right. I would guess they're just lightly putting them in like you would a pair of Ipod headphones. There's definately a learning curve if you're not used to this type of headphone, you really have to shove them in you ears. These things have more than enough bass and sound great overall with some EQ adjustments. The J-style cord kind of blows though...

Well, the young people loved their ear buds! The eyes of the first kid (27) I gave them to lit up when he saw them. He said he'd been thinking about getting a new set of ear buds. He's made good use of them this week and told me yesterday he put new music on his Sansa so he could listen with his new buds. He says they sound great. Makes you feel all warm and gooshey inside.

Now I'll be looking for those thingies upon which to wrap the extra cord. Preferably on a 2fer2sday, because I need 6.

Good Lord, these are absolutely the worst earphones I've ever used. Listened to them for 60 seconds and threw them in the trash. There is absolutely NO bass!!! I'm not looking for bass that comes from $100 earphones...but just SOME bass.

I've owned Koss earphones for years, going back to the 1950s when they were the premier earphones on the market in the USA. I've also had several of their ear buds over the years. These are by far the worse fitting ear buds I've come by and can see why Koss is trying to dumb them. Not a good product design at all. Sorry for Koss on this one. D

Canal phones like Koss KE29 must have good tight seal to sound correct. It's called 'Noise Isolating' because it seals off the ear canal completely like sticking your fingers into your ears. They must be shoved tightly into your ear canal and not sitting superficially like OEM Apple ear buds. If you are not getting bass or if they sound 'tinny' or if they are falling out of your ear then it is not sealing correctly so try the different ear pieces. Bass on these headphones is well controlled and extended but a bit strong. The overall sound is pretty well balanced but bit on the warm side due to strong bass. Also these phones have J-cord arrangement (one short, one long cord to ear pieces). Part of the cord connecting the two ear phones should go behind your neck or your ear phones will be pulled out of your ears.

We typically recommend getting in touch with the manufacturer first, unless noted otherwise. (Say, if the sale said "Woot Warranty.") If they cannot or will not assist you, please feel free to get in touch with service@woot.com with your order number and a detailed description of the problem.

Did you know shirt.woot ships internationally? Get you some!

Just the other day I thought "Didn't I order some headphones?" The tracking info says they're at the local post office, but I haven't received them.

I've gotten 3 other Woots since then. Are these trackable once Fedex hands them over to USPS?

Not very happy. The left ear being very short and the right far longer is not as functional as both the same length. Quality of the actual in-ear plug is also inferior and I find the ear plug coming loose regularly.

Love them - been using them while mowing the lawn - they reduce the sound to a dull drone, and I don't have to crank them nearly as loud as my old headphones. And I got of them for the price, so I have a pair for work too!!!

Only downside from regular earphones is that it is a slight pain in the butt to pull them in or out - once they're in, you want to leave them there, so if you are in an area where you'll get constantly interrupted, they will become annoying. The seal required to make them noise cancelling makes it tedious to pull in & out all the time.

I love these things so much, they are the only headphones I've used since I bought them.

No questions asked warranty was a major plus when one pair broke (sent them in with my KOSS UR-40s after I accidently stressed the wire). Have had no problems with fit and only 1 of 3 pairs has had a flimsy volume control.

If Woot ever puts up more colors (other than ruby and that awful pink), I'd be in for another two pack. Hint hint.
