Yes, the newer movies were filmed digitally.

However, these film cells are what would have been sent out to your local theaters because "digital" projectors are not common and are very expensive.

So yes, these are "real" film cells, just not in the way you're thinking of "film"

These are prints. StarWars was released all around the world and each cinema had many rolls of film. Therefore they will NOT run out of these for a very long time.

Here's what needs to happen:

Some enterprising Wooter should buy all of them, and then randomly glue them all together, which will result in a better film than Phantom Menace.

One of my good friends bought one of these a few offerings back, and you know what his films cells were?

Black.

They sold him film cells that had no graphics on them, just parts of the film where it goes dark between scenes.

We might be starting to see the end of WOOT. I'm seeing the SOS time after time. They might as well clear out the old stuff before closing the doors and turning off the lights.

I have some frames from the original Star Wars and they are twice as wide as these. Were there different formats sent to theaters?
