But $119.99 at Sears.com, so I guess this is still a good deal.

Most places, the three cutting boards alone would cost about this much, if not more. Amazon's price for the sushi set is ~$30, so that's why I jumped on this. Plus I just like sushi and been wanting a bamboo set anyway...

That's a lot of money for some cheap bamboo...

Let's hope your gift recipients don't mind refurbished sushi sets...even I think that's a little strange...

HEY, did you see that??? Somebody is awake at w00t because they just changed the condition from "refurbished" to "new!"

I think that's the first time I've seen them change a description while the item's being sold, hahaha! Good to know someone's paying attention to our babbling...

This item is a survivor of many a Woot-Off. I would have thought this would have been given away in the last Boggy Old Creature.

Nah...scary would be if no one was watching and the real tools came out to play. Greg comes to mind, as does Slydon...

Bamboo is pricy...it's politically correct and "green". It makes a wonderful cloth for resort/summer wear and sleepwear, a bit like tencel..and it's pricy in clothing, too. The thing that keeps me from this purchase is the maintenance. And, what happens when we run out of the special oiling cloths that we're supposed to use twice a week? hmmm....30 oil cloths...twice a week...it falls apart, cracks, and self-destructs in 15 wk? Oh, that's not counting the daily conditioning for a week BEFORE it's used... so it really dries up and falls apart in 12 wk?

Ya' know, I was wondering about that myself. Also, my "regular" cutting board has always had the ability to destroy germs and only needs occasional special care. Does bamboo enjoy the same properties? Anyway, I don't need any more cutting boards...I just can't sleep any more. Five hours was enough.

Just buy some food-safe mineral oil and apply it with a paper towel.

There's a note on its care at the very bottom of the item description/what's in the box. And, that's what the manufacturer is recommending...of course, who amongst us follows directions anyway? lol

I'm a girl, so I generally read the directions, but to get me to read the whole w00t description, I have to either be really entertained by it or really, really interested in the item. Like the batman alarm clock. THAT one was a "must have," although I still can't decide why... ;)

There isn't. Math is just a figment of some guy's imagination, to which other guys added more stuff to muddle things up especially for those of us who prefer words to numbers. I'm sure of it...now if only I had proof...

I bought one of these the last time around and am pretty pleased with it. The oiling cloths aren't much, but you should have a bottle of light mineral oil for your wooden kitchen stuff anyway. It is probably good if you read the instructions and oil them thoroughly before you use them. They soak up a lot of oil.

Overall, a happy purchaser.
