Engineer: I make this herd to be at least a 100,000, maybe even a million. It's going to be hours before they clear this track!
Fireman: A tough nut to crack!
The Conductor: Boy, we are in some serious jelly!
Engineer: And jam!
Fireman: Tight spot!
Engineer: Up a creek!
Fireman: Up a tree!
Engineer: In the grass!

nieltj wrote:I just got this at a dollar store. Fits the camera, and the head locks in. But the extendable legs don't lock in place. Worth a buck. $7 is your call.

Agreed.. the legs just kind flop down if you put a camera with any kind of a weight on it. They are basically junk.

3 cheap wireless mice yesterday, 3 cheap mini tripods today.

Woot better start having ample supplies of the items I WANT to buy soon, or i'll be sleeping thru the rest of this woot-off.

These are actually pretty reasonable. I used one to prop up a little 7" LCD TV on the kitchen counter and it's well suited for that task. The threads seemed a little mismatched to the threads on the bottom of the TV, but neither was made in America so what do you expect. It worked.

gorillapod falls over with dslr... maybe i need the dslr version?
i wanted a green one, boo.
these are good for if the surface you're using isn't tilted the right way, i would assume, since you can tilt the head. bonus for being able to stick it in your bag since it's so small.

Man, I got the green and blue because I'm a dude--didn't realize the greens were this popular Though I guess it don't really matter what color it is, considering you're gonna get a non-shook photo outta the deal...

Well of course they can work with them... But would you really trust putting your DSLR on top of a $1.99 tripod? I hope your judgment is better than that.

If your pocket flashlight has a tripod mount, you can attach it to one of these to make a great mini tripod flashlight.

NO. A DSLR (or an SLR with any kind of lens) will be too heavy, the little legs have a fixed amount of friction, and are not likely to stay put.

With the legs not supporting a "real" camera, my tihnking is if you have a "real" camera, something as cheap as this is prolly not the way to go. The accoutrements should match the primary item, IMO.

No they only work with 1980's full size VHS camcorders.

If it has a screw tripod mount on the bottom of the camera of course it will.

Technically it would work, but I'd probably opt for something a little more sturdy. For point and shoot cameras it's perfect.
