I hate to horn in on this conversation, but after two years, they're just "2" or "3" or "4." Now, if you ask the three year-old, he's gonna say "I'm three and a half." You're the adult, so stick to round numbers.

Having been the mother of a two year old, I can attest, that the 2nd year of a toddlers life is, and should be, counted by the years, quarters, months, weeks, days, hours, and seconds. This is because the 2nd year of a child's life is also known as, "The Terrible Twos!" That one year in a child's life, as well as the mother's, often seems like a decade.
I remember calling my mother in tears, telling her I wanted to either, A. Commit murder, or B. Commit suicide. And you wanna know what her response was? She laughed at me!!!!

I am happy to report that myself and my two year olds all survived.

I got one DOA and they hosed me. Told me to contact the manufacturer, who then gave the run around, said I would have to go through woot since it was a refurb, they would not touch it. After several ignored e-mails I finally contacted my credit card's fraud department...that got woot off it's ass in a hurry. I still had to pay to ship it back.

BUY ALL TV's from COSTCO - it's worth a few extra bucks to get a TWO YEAR FULL WARRANTY!!!

My 52" LCD I got from Costco in March 2007 just started having dead pixels about 2 months ago...costco gave me FULL PRICE refund after almost TWO YEARS. Suck on that woot.

Look I love woot, but they are only good for novelty items, small items that are cheap and you don't mind taking a risk on...not stuff like this.

This was my experience, and this is my warning to you from someone that has been burned...if you still want to be a ret@rd and buy it, I can't stop you.

I will have to agree. I too had some problems with two items I purchased form Woot,(since both items failed to work.. DOA). Woot told me to contact the maker, the maker told me that since WOOT purchased all they had I had to contact WOOT. Big run around and not untill I contacted my Credit Card did WOOT change their tune. Buyer beware!!!

Some of the stuff is outrageously good. Some is true crappola. All you have to do is find the last one, which was Christmas Eve,on the community tab, then go into the discussion board. It's traditional for people to post what they received, and some post pics.

It used to be (and I don't know for sure anymore) that it's RCA's advanced level brand. I have a Proscan tube TV from 10+ years ago and it's still great. The RCA version only had composite connections, while the Proscan version has Component (pre HDMI).

lotusstp wrote:I can vouch for that... "Proscan" was RCA's "Cadillac" line... now it appears to be "Ca-diddly-squat!" I'd put it in the same category as "Polaroid" or "Sylvania." Carp? Caveat Emptor!

My Proscan is vintage 1995, which I bought as a showroom floor demo model. Fifteen years later, though it still has the two minor scratches in the screen that it came with, it's as good as new. [Note: I have DirecTV and don't want to pay $200+ annually for HD, though I have 3 Hi-Def TVs]

It's a shame when a quality brand name is sold and the new owners live off the reputation of the previous products while producing carp. I worked for Farberware back in the '70s when they put out great products. Since they went bankrupt and licensed their brand names, all Farberware products are carp. Oh, well.

I was sort of thinking the same thing. At 14 when my family went (me, mom, and my 7 year old little brother) we both really enjoyed it and got quite a lot out of it. They may not enjoy the art museums as much, but a lot of the history, and science stuff they probably love.
